This hotel is a short walk to the station and not far from the Centre of town. It is a traditional hotel with tatami and futon beds which were comfortable enough. There are no showers in the room but rather a communal shower and hot bath area separated for male and female. Breakfast was included in our stay. Overall the...

Nice and clean rooms, some with bathroom and toilet. Indoor onsen is not bad. Very good dinner incl. hida beef shabu-shabu and other delicious meals. Japanese breakfast was one of the best we had during our 3 weeks spent in Japan!

Stayed here for two nights with my family just last week. It's pretty accessible from the JR station, the morning markets and old town. Location is ideal. The breakfast was great as they offer you a choice of western and Japanese breakfast, I'd say just take the Japanese breakfast because they make an effort to change the menu daily and...

The most impressive asset of the hotel is the location: the whole Takayama tourist center is located withing a circle of about 15 min walk radius. The hotel is situated within that circle, which makes it a great location for walking trips. They're also just a few minutes away from a bus station. The place is affordable, clean, has a...

This was our one and only ryokan in japan, and I'm very glad we decided to stay here. The location is excellently central. We did western beds and a private bath, making it more a hybrid than totally Japanese experience. They have a public bath, but I have a tattoo and decided not to try my luck. We did the...

The Ryokan is very conviniently located just a few blocks away from the bus/train station. Just 5 minutes if you walk slowly. We had a room w/ private bath/toilet. The room was very spacious in Japanese perspective. Two sides of the room had small extensions with view. Sleeping on the tatami was a little harsh but when put some extra...

Overall very disappointing experience. The floor dirty, rooms are run down, facilities are second class. The staff has very limited English and caused us time wasting (virtually all day) by misguiding us to go to Shirakawa-go in the busiest day one can imagine... We were also very disappointed with the breakfast and so called "private bath" in our room. The...

Helpful, smiling staff, interesting food, and a good location make this place a bit more special than it would otherwise be, if one were to judge it on the quality of the accommodations alone. The room we had was one of the larger, with its own sink and a bathroom, but the sink area was tiny, and the hot water...

Takayama is a small town but it is the main coach station to have travel at nearby rural area. The atmosphere of the town is so peaceful and relaxing. We spent 2 half days to have city sightseeing + 1 day @ Kamikochi (上高地) + 0.5 day @ Shirakawa Village (白川鄉). In the downtown, 99% shops will be closed on...

The hotel is in a good location in a side street off the centre. Rooms are limited in size to other ryokans, and there is no wifi in the rooms (reception on the ground floor is limited also). What we did like is the Japanese style breakfast which changes every day.
