Great views of the mountains, green houses and tea groves. In room open air onsen perfect after long climbs and walks, well worth the extra cost. Meals were delicious and beautifully presented. Beds were as comfortable as sleeping on a couple sleeping bags on carpet, so just keep in mind if staying in a ryokan it's simply part of the...

Spent 2 nights at this ryokan. There is a free shuttle to and fro the train station every 30 minutes. The staff were very helpful and their attention to detail were impeccable. They are fluent in English - or at least they will make sure someone who is attends to you. 5 stars to all of them. Had a room...

We had a very nice stay at the ryokan. The highlight for us was definetly the onsen. The women on one side and the men on their side. Never felt so clean and relaxed. The manager and his staff were extremely nice.

Our first night in a Ryokan in Japan was unforgettable, including the Kimono for Laura and myself. The "kaiseki" dinner was very rich and complemented by a very good explanation of the different dishes both at dinner and breakfast. I had particular pleasure to shave myself early morning at the Onsen, nice experience!

Just loved our stay here. Great rooms and private outdoor roten buro as well as hotel onsen. So much attention to detail and spotlessly clean. Staff excellent and food was an amazing array which we loved every bit. Must mention our wonderful host Miho who was fantastic. First class all round. Definitely will stay here again if in takayama.

First time staying at a ryokan and it was truly an experience. This ryokan is located about 10-15 minutes drive from Takayama train station, and there is a free shuttle that starts operating from 2pm at fixed intervals. Makes sense for the pick up to start from 2pm since the check in time is only then. Upon check in, we...

We stayed at the ryokan this week and enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and spoke good English. We were shown to our garden room with private outdoor onsen bath after enjoying a cup of tea. The room was nice with 2 single western-style beds. The bathroom had a cute wooden bath. The garden was private and still nice...

We stayed for two nights. The only bad thing was we were near the end of a run of a few ryokans, so the volume of food at dinner and breakfast was a bit too much for us, but overall the experience was great. Excellent service, rooms, location, helpfulness, etc. Also, a private onsen is the way to go.

It's our first time visiting Takayama. The hotel is typical ryokan style. There are certain rules to be followed at this hotel. Last shuttle bus service from the JR station is at 17:30. After that you have to take taxi which takes about 10-15 minutes to arrive at hotel. For cleanliness, no shoes are allowed inside the hotel. All guests...
