Stayed here for 3nights in January. The hospitality is great, starting from small touches like a welcome snack in the room. The rooms are spacious, some with good views. The facilities are surprisingly modern including a relaxation lounge with massage chairs. They have a variety of baths incl both public (free to use) and private (you can book one private...

Traveling through Gifu prefecture we stayed one night in December. We got a big corner room (even for western standards) and even with 4 beds it did not feel super crowed. The hotel was fully booked for dinner, but they recommended a restaurant about 15 min walk away and we could not have been more pleased with that place (kyoya-hida)....

I booked Takayama kanko hotel on line, knowing only that it was a Japanese style hotel. What I did not know was that it was not just a hotel. It was a Japanese experience. My room turned out to be several "rooms" divided by sliding walls. Tatami on the floor, two pairs of slippers one for the toilet, one (thongs)...

Great ryokan style hotel. The room is huge. The public outdoor onsen is good. Separate onsen between man and woman. The plants is covering the view thou. Private onsen is a modern kind of onsen. Jacuzzi with fabulous city view. Shuttle time not convenient. Pick up service is until 6pm only. We reached train station at 6.15pm so we have...

Whilst a little out of town, this hotel offered us a great experience that we won't forget. Chizuko, on the front desk, was outstanding in her support. Restaurant staff were fabulous supporting our 7 month old. Eating traditional local foods and sleeping on futons really gave us an authentic experience for the 2 nights of our stay.

We experienced two nights with the Shikisai Kaiseki plan. The rooms were very clean , futons were very comfortable and meals were excellent. The staff were accomodating but didn't go the extra mile. At times I felt like I was intruding when I sought an answer to a question. When I asked where the breakfast dining room was, they pointed...

The hotel is located a bit outside town. One has to take a short taxi drive into town and it will cost 670 yen (+100 if ordered) . There is a limited hotel shuttle bus service. Some staff speak English . It's a hotel Japanese style rooms. They don't go all the way. The diner and breakfast room is normal....

We were here for 2 nights in early July. Room was spacious enough for 3 adults as it is ryokan style and not much furniture to be in the way. Breakfast and dinner were included in our stay. We had the 'Shikisai Kaiseki' Plan. Good way to experience the kind of Japanese food specific to the area. Hotel has 2...
