Ichinoyu Ryokan is a traditional Japanese Style hotel. It's a 30 - 40 minute bus ride from the Hakone Yumoto Station, Some rooms have private Onsen which is good if you need privacy if not they also have a public Onsen on the 2nd Floor. The Futons were very comfortable in spacious rooms. We were served a typical Japanese dinner...

First of all, it takes a long 30 min bus ride to get to this ryokan from Hakone Yumoto station. However, on arrival, the ryokan itself is very nice and comfortable. It's definitely a well oiled operation and although the staff are very friendly, there is some difficulties in communication. And for location, it's in the middle. It takes 30...

The ryokan is pretty good, and has an accesible price. Take in account that all the Hakone area is pretty expensive. Our room was pretty big with tatami and futon, and with a private open air onsen in it. The ofuro is big enough for two people and pretty comfortable. It is a good choice for people with tattoos that...

The room was lovely and the onsen was hot and just the right size for two to sit and stretch out our legs. The beds were comfortable and we had a good rest, especially after the onsen. We went for half board and stayed for two nights. The hotel folks were very detailed and actually served us an alternative menu...

We loved this hotel! The room was clean, the private onsen helped the soreness from traveling, and the traditional Japanese breakfast was filling and tasty! There is a town about ten minutes away via walking that has a grocery store and some restaurants.

Stayed here for 2 nights with our family of 3. The private onsen is amazing and hot, but you can add cold water as desired. The traditional Japanese breakfast is fantastic. Only downside is that the bus service ends before 6pm so we had to get a cab in Gora to get home from dinner out. Would definitely return!

My family (2 adults and 2 children) stayed at Sengokuhara Shinanoki Ichinoyu for 2 nights and wished our stay was longer! The hotel has all one could wish for, it is beautifully furnished. The hotel is wonderfully spacious and the bedrooms are not only beautifully decorated in Japanese style but were also super comfortable. The restaurant also serves child meals...

The hotel is located in a quiet area, relatively convenient with buses going to Odawara/Hakoneyumoto station and Togendai (Lake Ashi). However, there isn't much to do in the area in the evenings, just a 7-11 about 5 minutes away. I found that Shinanoki was quite commercialised, not really a traditional ryokan. Rooms are clean and spacious with a western touch....

My 2nd time visiting peaceful Hakone. Great random pick. Love this place! My friend booked this place because of the private onsen attached to the room. Japan Tourism Bureau is working on allowing foreigners with tattoos to be welcomed and freely enter public onsens without any issues. Until that happens my friend and I will have to enjoy a private...

Loved my stay at this modern ryokan. The beds were very comfortable, and there was a private hot spring bath in our balcony, which we used every morning and night. There is also a shared bath that guests do not need to pay extra for. We tried that too. The water was wonderful and hot and lovely to soak and...
