We were family of 7 and this was the only ryokan I can find that could accommodate all of us in one suite. It's in the perfect location at the end of the Hakone Loop where the ship ride ends, and Mr. Ito has someone pick us up. From the moment you step into the ryokan, you're transformed back to...

Our family spent 2 nights in June at this wonderful ryokan. We arrived here after a busy week of touring Tokyo to relax and recharge for the 2nd half of our vacation. Mission accomplished!!! The staff was remarkable and the service provided was first rate. Ito-san was very responsive and promptly answered all of my questions throughout the reservation process...

This is a beautiful ryokan in the mountains of the Hakone region. It is modern, with traditional design. Staff members were all extremely solicitous. They made a Happy Birthday oragami accompanying a gift after noticing on her passport that my wife's birthday was a few days away. Dinner was superb & we were able to sit in chairs for it....

There is a reason this place is ranked so highly. Whilst it proved a little difficult for our taxi driver to find this place, the trek up to Washintei Hougetsu was worth it. From the attentive service, to the beautiful views of Lake Ashi from our room, to the little things such as offering tea in the lounge upon your...

This place is just beautiful! We loved everything from the food, to the service, to the wonderful view from our bedroom. Their staff were very warm and welcoming, such that the slight language barrier didn't matter at all. They noticed that it had been my birthday a few weeks back, and prepared a small flower bouquet and gift for me...

This was a great place to have a rich Japanese cultural experience. The staff was friendly and helped us all change into beautiful and comfortable kimino outfits. My first time sleeping on a futon bed and it was a wonderful night's sleep. Food was carefully prepared and we ate together (our party of 8) in a private room which made...

Every aspect of our experience was super attentive and beyond expectation from the reservation, picking us up at the Ropeway after touring with friends, the facilities, the private bath, the people and of course the amazingly beautiful food. Service is exceptional, the atmosphere is exceptional and thoroughly enjoyable. It's beautiful,...

This is probably the best experience my girlfriend and I ever had. From the service to the food and not forgetting the onsen, everything was just perfect. Deepest thanks goes out to Mr Ito who carefully coordinated all our arrival and departure timings, checking the bus schedule for us to make sure we did not miss our Shinkansen and accommodating...

We arrived at Lake Ashi by Romance Car and bus on a beautiful, clear day with perfect directions from Mr. Ito. He then picked us up at the bus stop and checked us in to our room with a warm welcome from the staff and our maid Mako. Our room was spotless, comfortable, well appointed and very tranquil with a...
