I stayed in this hotel for 1 night and I strongly recommend this hotel. First, the room is large with an in room bathtub at the balcony. I didn't us the bathtub as it was too cold outside. But, it is very special. Second, the hot spring is really amazing. I love the in door and out door 大眾浴場!The water...

Unbeatable location, very close to train station and bus stop right outside. Spacious room and big beds. Outdoor bath on the balcony was great and connect to the shower. Our first time staying at an onsen hotel and we loved it.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Setsugetsuka Hotel in Gora, Hakone. It was 3 wonderful days of Japanese experience. It's half board accommodation which means breakfast and dinner are included in the hotel room rate. We were in a smallish room overlooking the inner courtyard so it's quite quiet. Room was adequate and comfortable with air conditioning. There's...

I experienced Setsugetsuka with a group of 8, and we had a fantastic time! I shared my room with 2 others and it was definitely spacious and comfortable. Although the ryokan was at full capacity, it didn't feel overly crowded. The food was delicious and the late night ramen was a wonderful touch. It's conveniently located by the train station,...

This is a nice hotel with comfortable hot spring, both public and private hot spring. Food are good and they provide Japanese and western style breakfast. However the staff , especially a female, short hair staff was really impolite and even didnt smile when we ask some question. Since I had some delivery from rakuten to the hotel, when I...

We had no idea what to expect of Hakone, nor the hotel, when we made the booking and we're thrilled with both the hotel and the Hakone area. While this is a hotel - not a ryokan as some people may hope to find - it is none the less a true Japanese experience and a place where many Japanese...

Traditional Japanese spa nestled in the mountains. Getting to the place took a bit of train hopping but our agent made it look so easy. Ensure you take of your shoes before stepping onto tatami in your room. We had a traditional Japanese room (spectacular) - wearing the jakuta we had our full emersion into Japanese lifestyle. Hot tip Take...

I picked this hotel bcus it is a popular choice and that the hotel looks really nice and modern which I wanted to try something different. Then we realised it is not really our type of onsen hotel we enjoyed as we pref a more laid back and traditional type. this is a busy hotel with a lot of tourists....

Went here for my anniversary trip with my wife, this is the second worse experience we had staying in a hotel in Japan. The receptionist was far from friendly, there was lots of ants in the room. The amount of water stink on the shower head and the sink above the toilet bowl looked like they haven't been cleaned for...

Close to Gora station and a great start point for other sites in Hakone. Literally we walked out Gora station and found Setsugetsuka at the next intersection! Food is what you get around area, don't expect anything like Tokyo. My fiance and I enjoyed the local snacks and small town restaurants. We bought these pickled plums that were great appetizers...
