Lots of things to see close to the hotel, the breakfast was good and lots of it.
The staff were excellent, very helpful.
We liked the Sony Robot Dog.
Interesting feature such as choosing your own pillow, esp the fluffy ones which is hard to have in Japan, and checkout without going back to the counter because you use keycode instead of a key to open your room.
Good breakfast too, with onsen egg, porridge, breads, soups, etc
Definitely gonna be my choice of stay in Japan next time in city areas.
The reception staff are very service-oriented and they speak good English. (at least in Japan standard) They gave useful advice.
Room size is small but the room layout of the Super Hotel brand is somehow very functional. You wont feel as squeezed as it sounds from the room size figures.
The only drawback to me personally is its location. It is walkable to many tourist spots and the JR station within 10-15mins. Yet it can feel a bit far if you carry heavy luggage from the JR station like what I did. There are other hotels in the area of similar price range but nearer to the JR station.
The rooms are small but comfortable, I stayed at triple rooms for two days. Breakfast free and good with its price.
An affordable and cheap hotel, if you don't have budget, it's good choice.
Will recommend friends to stay here!
The location is very good, probably about 5 mins walk from Kannai station & Yokohama stadium. Chinatown is only 2 mins away. There was a convenience store just next door. They gave 5 items for free when we checked in. You could choose between shampoo/conditioner, face masks, foot masks, face cleansers, eye masks, etc. They were all very good products, not cheap items.
Japanese buffet breakfast was included in the price. Everything was self service, with sweet bread, porridge, and their pickles. You can choose any drinks you like from the vending machines. Loved it!
There was free internet in the room and you can even print things out from the lobby computer for free.
Room was clean and tiny, as usual. Bathroom was smaller than other Japanese hotels. The bathtub was half the length of normal western one. We had no problem with it, but it's probably not suitable for big people.
PS: They clean the whole hotel between 10-3pm. So everyone has to be out from their rooms by 10am. It didn't bother us as we checked out beforehand.
Location is right in front of the Yokohama Stadium. Plenty of places to eat around you. You need to walk about 5 mins from the Nihon Odori Station. There's a Family Mart right underneath the hotel and a Sukiya 24 hours right next to it.
The room is well formatted. I had an area to sit behind a desk and watch the TV from far away. Most of these hotels usually has the TV right on the desk you work on with a mirror right in front of your face.
No Keys! No card key or the literal key you have to hand back before leaving the hotel everyday. They'll hand you 6 numbers you enter to enter your room everyday. So much better!
Service is very friendly and professional. I was almost weirded out when I checked in.
Breakfast is free, but recommended to come down before 8am to avoid a crowd.
Laundry actually works! You pay 200 yen to wash and they provided detergent and softener. Most hotels will charge you extra for the detergent only. The dryer is free and it actually works! I'm used to paying 200 yen for the dryer then having to dry the clothes in the room.
Slept well. The sound insulation was solid. I couldn't hear my neighbors at all and the mattress was just right.
They have extra pillows and the kimono/pajama like clothes in the hallway.
Price, if you book it at the right time can be found for $35/night.
The only thing that bugged me is the smell in the hallway. It just smelled like old laundry in the hallway and sometimes in the room. Maybe all the used pillows in the hallway? The air filter didn't help.
