Our trip to Nikko Inn was unforgettable... The surrounding views were breathtaking, the apartments were beautifully crafted and the service from the guys at reception was perfect (thanks for the help with booking our buses). The combination of traditional tatami living and a contemporary design finish and facilities (the airplay feature was great for our music) made for a comfortable,...

Nikko Inn is a perfect place for groups of 3-6. It is NOT located in the middle of the town, however its location is beautiful, full of nature and tranquil views. That does mean though that you need travel some distance before getting to a convenience store to buy food. You will be heading into town daily via the train...

We loved this traditional japanese house near to Nikko. It's very easy to access and well situated near to the train station. The team from Nikko Inn is really nice and helpful, they provide a lot of informations about the house and surrounding area. The house is well equiped with everything you need to cook, a perfect sound system! I...

First things first: Make sure which house you are booking. We had booked "Sakura" for three nights, which has no countryside view whatsoever and is wedged right as the side of the train tracks. Check in was difficult as it took us a while to find the office building. During our stay, the lady responsible for guests (otherwise, this is...

Nikko Inn was just what we needed. Sitting on the edge of a rice paddy field and with views onto nearby hills this was a perfect break from our hectic Tokyo lives. It was incredibly relaxing to wake up to this view for two mornings. Run by an art director (who also has a cafe in Tokyo called World Breakfast...

At first glance it seems like an out of the way location but once you've stayed there you realize how nice it is not to be so close to the attractions in Nikko and Kunigawa. We stayed in one of the cottages next to the rice field looking out onto the small mountains. (Tsutsuji 2) The two rooms were traditional...

The place is fine but it's nothing like the main images on the website which only describe the Tsutsuji or Satsuki rooms. If you're looking at the majority of accommodation the website is misleading. Under "Accommodation" there's a long description which sounds great. Our room has no view, we can't see any rice fields, we ARE very close to the...

We spent 2 nights in 2 different cottages. The first one was nice but nothing special for 120€. You expect to be close to the rice fields but on the contrary you are close to the railway station with annoying noises. The second night cottage was much better, in the rice fields, but still not worth the 280€ I paid....

The 4 of us stayed at 2 separate cottages. Each had 2 tatami rooms with heaters, a kitchen with a hot plate, fridge, rice cooker, plates, and utensils, and a bathroom with a very small square tub and a toilet complete with a washlet and a bum dryer! You can even plug your iPod in and have music playing in...

We stayed 3 nights with a 1 year-old baby at Tsutsuji room. The experience was great. The cottage and its facility is simple but functional. Somehow it reminds us of Aman Resorts, of course not that luxurious, but similarly sophisticated and harmonizing with nature. Something old coexists with something contemporary pretty well. It doesn't have all, including restaurants for dinner...
