We stayed here while my son was attending hockey camp at the nearby ice arena, and had a great time. Originally we only planned to stay 1 day, but we enjoyed ourselves so much that we extended to 3 days. The room we got (4 beds) was actually better than the one that we booked on the website (twin), so... More

We stayed at Nikko Park Lodge for one night, after realising we didn't want to cram Nikko into one day. We were able to make the reservation the same day, which was very convenient. The owner offered to pick us up from the Tobu-Nikko station and bring us to the lodge, and on the way he took us to a... More

A bit of a walk from the station but there is another branch of the hostel now opposite Tobu Station. The owner was really friendly, approachable and keen to offer advise on what to do in the local area. The hostel is clean and fairly comfortable with nice touches like an electric blanket on the bed and a log burning... More

Had a great time here at the Nikko Park Lodge. Everyone that was staying there were a great group of people and the owner Ken made us great breakfast in the morning and dinner at night. We went on fun tours and had good sleep. For the price, it was well worth it.

Spent three night in Nikko and had an excellent experience at the Nikko Park Lodge. I really enjoyed the lodge atmosphere at the mountain location and had great conversations with other guests who were traveling through. The english-speaking staff was very friendly and the tour of the waterfalls (about 45 min drive) was amazing. Was very happy to have free... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night and overall it was a good experience. To be honest we hadn't ever stayed in a hostel so I don't know how this one ranks compared to others but we had a really good time and were quite satisfied. We got a private room, which was small but had it's own... More

I stayed here for one night during a week-end and was very pleased. It is a 20 minute walk (partly uphill) from the train station but then it is very quiet up there. A relaxed atmosphere. The room was basic (no TV) but clean. I could connect to internet easily. The hosts have good advice on what to do and... More

The welcome by the personnel was not equal from one person to another one: from amazingly impolite to only acceptable. The worst address out of the 10 hotels & ryokans I've done in Japan.

I booked three nights accommodation at Nikko Park Lodge after reading their website. I was interested in this so called 'monk' hostel that it describes. However, during my time at the hostel, I discovered that the monk no longer works there. In his place are two nice enough (but very westernised Japanese men; this may be a good or bad... More

“I had a private room at the very end of the hallway away from the common areas which was very quiet and the surrounding neighborhood is very quiet in a somewhat forested area. No problem sleeping in the room. If Internet is important, then rooms closer to the common area might be a better location.”
