Located at the hillside. Very peaceful. The onsen is nice and big. The tatami bed room was wide. The design was a little plain, the typical mono tone color, lack of lighting. The exterior swimming pool was run down, full of green algae.

Mie is a unique place, full of September Formula 1 racing, pearls, beef, shrines that are home to the gods, and Hinotani Onsen, a riverside hot spring that is its own jewel in the south of the prefecture. A hotel and not an inn, Hinotani has the eyesore of an ugly water park at its low line, but keep your...

Went there with a group of friends Nice setting. Very peaceful and tranquil surroundings Hot onsen. Went during sept. So it was quiet But the springs were excellent Food was great. Had a nice relaxing night there. But it's far from Osaka. Great to spend a whole day there. The rooms are tatami styled. So be prepared to sleep on...

I stayed here with my 4 friends in a big tatami room with futon. The room is very large and has a great view that reminds me of Twilight movie. Hahahaha. The bathroom is average. But you can take Japanese Bath Annex Hotel's Hinotani Onsen in the basement, it is better to relax and take a bath there than in...

Unfortunately, we planned a full day off around this trip. Checked the webpage the night before - everything looked great. I read Japanese reasonably well and my wife (who IS Japanese) checked it over and we made plans based on it. Took 2-3 hours to drive there from Yokkaichi, only to find a notice on the door "Everything closed today,...

Quite old hotel. The Ibsen is ok. Wearing shoes to room created lots of dirt and spot on the carpet. Food was good. Breakfast is typical Japanese breakfast with eggs of choice. No soft boiled egg. Room is quite old. Futon is ok.

Although slightly hard to get to (not located near any big cities) this is definately not a place to miss! The scenary is next level along with the open spa which overlooks a mountain, the experience is well worth the long trip needed to get to this resort. Staff are very polite and do speak a little English ~ although,...
