Absolutely a wonderful hotel - probably the oldest and best hotel in town. I say this because the Emperor of Japan as visited it and the founding father of Philippines republic and Albert Einstein stayed here. The rooms are spacious, staff are super courteous and...More
All of staffs always welcome you with full of hospitality. The main building has not changed anything when the hotel was built here. You are able to watch many historical things, such as Ms. Shoen Uemura's fantastic painting at the...More

yes across the road there is a couple of shops n restaurants. Also main shopping area with famous mochi shops about 15 min walk back towards town. I had a great kaiseki meal in a restaurant in the mall. I cant remember the name of the restaurant but it has groceries at front and is nxt to a sock store. Btw it was a third of the price of the kaiseki meal I had at the Nara hotel.

I am not sure as we were there in the Fall. It is right next to a large park and there are trees everywhere in Nara; however, you would need to check with a local to find out when and where blossoming occurs. They have an excellent visitors centre with many people whom speak English. You can find their link by Googling Nara City Tourist information Center. Good luck!
