This has been our yearly retreat during winter. This time we didnt get the usual room, it was a slightly expensive family suites, that has a small kitchenette and extra room for kids. The service and food is the as good as the year before. This time we also visited the nearby sukayu onsen. There is a shuttle that sends... More

We stayed there on 26/4/2016 and It was awesome! The hotel room, the staff, the service, the food, the surrounding mountains..Staff were very friendly and helpful and free shuttle provided from hotel to and fro to Hakkoda ropeway at any time. Good place to relax and ski. A pity we were there for only a night. Will definitely go there again... More

As a young heavily tattooed female American coming to rural Japan to snowboard, I was quite weary about the way in which I would be perceived. Everything from the service to the food to the onsen was outstanding. Very Polite & lovely staff. Absolutely my new favorite get away, can't wait to go back someday! This was the ultimate dream... wonderful place. Great rooms, Great onsen, great views, great walks. However if you go in the summer or spring definitely rent a car from Hirosaki or Aomori. This is part of Japan you need a vehicle to get around. Go see Lake Towoda and Oirise Gorge. Note this is not a hamburger joint so food is Japanese. You can eat... More

We stayed at Hakkoda Hotel for 4 nights on a 10 night ski adventure to the region in January 2014. Hakkoda did not disappoint! We caught a bus from JR Aomori Station to the hotel which dropped us off at the Ropeway at Hakkoda. It took us a little to find where the hotel was located and we had to... More

We stayed at Hakkoda in January this year for 3 nights. We travelled from tokyo on the new hayabusa train to aomori. We opted to take a taxi from the station to the hotel as we were traveling with a toddler and not quite sure if the bus were running, as it was snowing heavily. It was quite a long... More

Wow - powderhounds said that this was powder country and they weren't wrong. The backcountry riding was fantastic. The weather was abysmal (apart from one day) but then that is the usual in the powder bowls of Japan. The hotel was this quaint little Japanese lodge with a full breakfast and traditional Japanese dinner. Every meal was an adventure. As... More

Perhaps one of the most relaxing places I have been for a very long time. A great breakfast, unbelievable backcountry powder skiing, a relaxing onsen and a superb Japanese evening meal. My day every day for six days. Can't recommend it highly enough. Skiing and food perhaps not for the faint hearted.

A very nice hotel - great food and service. We rode the new "Hayabusa" Shinkansen from Tokyo to Aomori - what a train!! It takes a bit of a bus ride from Shin-Aomori station (about an hour - after all, it's in the mountains!), but they have shuttle service to and from the main station (Aomori - a short distance...
