The lodge is on the edge of the small town of Zomba just next to the golf course. The lodge doubles as a creative/arts centre and there were a number of creative/ artistic local and ex pat types enjoying the nice gardens when we arrived. We were shown to our first floor private room via a shared area where numerous... More

Made a perfect base for 3 days in Zomba as a single traveller. Nice people running it and a good place to get info on Malawi travel ideas and bump into others doing something similar. Great set of arranged trips with very helpful local guides incl hikes to the Plateau! Highly recommended.

A real beautifull place with a nice garden and lots to do. The food is really good and there is lots to choose from the menu . Really nice people working there. After 5 days with no elektricity, no running water this feels like heaven!

We stayed in Zomba on our way to Mount Mulanje and again on our way back. We love the atmosphere at Pakachere! It is great for backpackers but also for families or groups of friends. We stayed in the room with 3 beds and shared bathroom; affordable and a nice big room with lockers if needed. Nice that they offer... More

We called to book a room and was told there was no tents or rooms left but the guy on the phone sounded so uncertain that we just turned up anyway to see. Again, the guy behind reception didn't seem to know if there was space but after some faffing around, managed to establish that there was 2 tents free-... More

Pakachere is in the middle of Zomba. It is surrounded by large, old trees and has a very relaxed feel to it, with basic volleyball and table tennis facilities available in the grounds. Meals are fine, with quite a good variety of different foods, for all tastes (including vegetarian) and reasonable prices. Wifi is available, free - very slow, but... More

We stayed for 3 nights and managed to experience 3 different rooms as it was quite busy and we booked quite late. The place itself is in a nice setting on the edge of the golf course on the edge of town. The kitchen knocks up basic food. There's free tea and coffee. There are also local guides that can... More

The staff are excellent and nothing too much trouble. Accommodation basic but kept clean. Food available most of the day and reasonably priced. Good areas outside to read or study. No hassle from vendors. Road leading down to it could do with some work.

They serve very nice food (the pizza´s and the pancakes for breakfast are the best). They people who work there are very nice and they have free... More

Pakachere is a friendly place to go and have a filling, tasty and cheap meal amongst friends or people who are about to become your friends. We didn't stay but we have been there for food many many times.
