In short this hotel is strategically located in Johore Bahru city. The hotel is only short distance to shopping centers. Near to Woodland check point using straight road from the hotel. To Legoland land if you are driving, just 1 U-turn from the hotel and it will bring you right to it in 20km. The hotel also provide free shuttle to Legoland. The surrounding of the hotel make you feel like you are in a resort itself. The landscaping and the site of the building have a spectacular view of the strait of Johore and Singapore island. Security is very tight and make you feel safe from any uninvited people mingling around the hotel. Their lobby area is beautiful. The Lounge call STEP and coffee house called GLASS are very classy. The rooms are clean, cosy and comfortable. I get to

This is a very nice hotel with really nice staff. Mizi in the executive lounge is a very nice person and does not let your glass get empty. Mini and Siti in Oasis are very sweet Nd helpful. It is away from town so it is a little more quiet than city center but there is not a great selection of restaurants and eating houses within walking distance. The housekeeping staff will steal small items from you. Stupid items like fingernail kits. I just keep my "do not disturb" sign on and only let them in to clean when I am there. The laundry staff are a bunch of morons who obviously cannot read. If you want 3 hour service or your shirts hung you must circle the option and draw a huge arrow pointing at it. My work pays for my hotel so I stay where they tell me to. If it were up to me, I

Based on my experience in this wonderful hotel, I was very pleased with the good hospitality. Actually this is my 8th visit to this hotel. The first thing I do when I reached this hotel is hang out at the step. My favorite food that I always order at the step is chicken and egg sandwich and beverage is fresh apple juice. Sometimes beside dining, I enjoy my leisure time reading novels. The staff at the step is very friendly and genial such as Sashi,Aida,Deva,Mumi,Ain,Teo and Ator. The second superlative place is the executive lounge.I really enjoy it because it is a very peaceful place for me to relax my mine.Futher more, from the executive floor i can enjoy the beautiful scenery.I would like to put ahead these names that frequently serve me that is Azian,Izzan,Mizi,Hashim and

This is my first time joining my sister and her husband's family celebrating hari raya adil fitri in Johore bahru. My sister has been teling me how good the hospitality of the staff that work there greeting their guest like their own family. When I step down from the car, I'm really surprise that all the Concierge staff really remember all the members of my sister's family ... further the front office staff like Arnel and staffs at the Concierge also greeted them. Their room was ready when check in and they need to register only. Few steps from the front office there is a lounge called STEP. The staff working there are really very friendly people. Their good service and manners really touch me. All of them from manager Nizam, Sashi and staff like Aida, Deva, Mumi and Ain treat

As one of the better hotels in the city, Thistle is no doubt quite popular with the locals who stream in on weekends to enjoy the restaurants, people-watch or see visiting family members that are being put up in one of the rooms. That said, the activity level in the common areas are usually pretty high and I am sometimes slightly apprehensive of the noise-level emanating from the nightclub when I am in town on a weekend. The reverberations can be a tad irritating depending on your location in the building but aside from that, the compact rooms are pretty comfortable and conducive to a good session of slumber. The gym overlooks the pool and the machines there are pretty decent for an adequate workout. Wifi and the business centre at the lobby also make staying connected a breeze.

I am a medical doctor in hospital sultanah aminah in Johor bahru . I used to come to Thistle's hotel coffee house 'Steps' everyday .I go there to read my syllabus and relax my mind. .I usually order a cup of coffee there. The coffee served over there is only freshly brewed upon the order. They practise rectangular glassware which comes with worm milk ,ice water and sugar bowl .The staffs there are very friendly especially Nizam, Edrin, Shashi, Aidah, Ain, Mumi and Deva.

One of the better hotels in JB no doubt - perhaps because there isn't much choice? If given a choice, I would definitely try others because while some people are raving about this hotel, I find it just so-so (average). Common areas are well kept although there are signs of wear and tear. Rooms are slightly worse than the common areas with paint and partition walls peeling off, rust stains, furniture slightly worn. Hospitality is also not up to expectations, checking in and out takes a long time with some staff seemingly not very experienced. Will not rule out returning but will always be on a lookout for better options.

I am a regular visitor to Thistle Johor Bharu and noticed that the level of service has improved tremendously. I am particularly impressed with Mr. Arnel who is the duty manager and his team at the reception, Azian, Mizi and his colleague Tamaddin of the Executive Lounge who are extremely hospitable and friendly and last but not least the concierge team. The availability of free wi-fi and help at the business centre is another reason why business travelers like me choose and will always choose for Thistle Johor Bharu. I strongly recommend Thistle Johor Bharu whenever you are in Johor Bharu.

The main purpose for us to go to JB was to visit Lego Land, there was a long discussion about whether should we stay in Singapore and only do a day trip or stay at JB for two nights. We are glad we have stayed at JB and really like this hotel. The location is very good, really like our room with sea view and JB town hall; all staffs are friendly and attentive, room is spacious and bathroom is lovely big with separate shower and bath tub. Breakfast has been delightful with local flavor and very kind services. The swimming pool created nice hideaways to unwind and cool off, my son spend lots of time there. All restaurants have good food with smiling faces. We definitely will stay at this hotel again. The only issue this hotel needs to be aware of is the windows, too thin and
