Great small hotel with beautiful room, great bathroom and good amenities. Bed firm and very comfortable. Will definitely stay again. Great places to eat nearby including 3 fantastic bakeries. Recommend the Indian restaurant next to 7 11 it has beautiful food.
We chose this hotel due to our last minute plan to JB due to a relative wedding - only this was the only reasonable place available at that time. We were glad that we stayed here. Rooms were clean, new and chic. A bit compact but most of our time were spent outside. On 2nd night, we took two rooms. The best suprise was finding variety of local tidbits in the room, FOC. It certainly evoked our childhood memory. The guys at the reception were friendly and helpful. We parked in front of hotel during weekend, but during weekdays we moved our car at the allocated parking lots behind the building. The reception called each room notifying us to move the car when their guard at the entrance saw some MPJB guys check the parking tickets. And there is spiral staircase behind the building that you can access to the parking lots. I wouldnt mind staying here again for transit or short stay.…
Due to massive jam before JB customs (CIQ) on 11 Aug 2019 night and 12 Aug 2019 wee morning, we decided to check into the new hotel, Hotel Insuna which is right next to Thai Imperial where we have just had our massage. It was our 2nd time “visiting” the hotel and 1st time staying here. Location: Along Jalan Serempang. Directly next to Thai Imperial and just 20 steps away from Lavendar Flagship store-cum-cafe in JB. 5-10min drive away from KSL and 8-10 min drive from Komtar/City Square, depending on traffic condition. Room size that was left for us to book was a windowless 125 sf room with a queen size bed. Price : RM108+10 (Hotel tax in Malaysia). Car parking facilities : Open carpark lots outside hotel. Car parking coupons were needed from 9-9.30am onwards the next day. There was a guard looking after your car plus CCTV at the reception for Insuna Hotel. Interior Decor : Since we stayed in Marion Hotel and Ritzton Hotel which are located along the same stretch of Jalan Serempang, we will do a simple comparison. No lifts for Insuna and Marion. A flight of stairs up to the reception. Both hotels have a small reception area. Ritzton, on the other hand, has a big reception on the ground floor and has a lift. Arrangement of furniture within the room was similar to that at Hotel Z in Liverpool, UK where I stayed in April this year, bed against wall, thus room in Insuna appeared bigger than room in Ritzton. Insuna’s bathroom was also more inviting than both Ritzton and Marion. We remember Marion’s room had a musky smell when we entered the room and Insuna’s room was ok. The room we stayed in Hotel Insuna had timber floorboard, beechwood bedside table/shelf, beechwood TV wall mount and beechwood wall-hung table just below TV. Though sink was small in the bathroom, sanitary ware was of Cotto brand. Aircon was of Mitsubishi brand. Toiletries, toothbrush sets, cotton buds, shower cap, coffee sachets, cups, glasses were provided for. No kettle but a glass flask was provided for filling up with hot or room temperature water from Coway dispenser located at the reception area. Good pillows! Nice white pillow cases with very light silvery lines. Note that no breakfast is available and there are no facilities. As a 3-star hotel which is only 8-10 minute drive from CIQ, I find this hotel’s cleanliness, spaciousness (due to good space planning), provisions make it an attractive hotel to stay in while one is visiting JB. It’s value for money. …
Stayed 1 night in May. Location: 3.5 of 5 balls Situated in Pelangi, it’s not doorsteps to landmark areas like City Square or KSL etc. KSL is about a 5 minute ride away. Drivers would probably be more indifferent. It has some nice Indian and Italian restaurants along the same street, as well as being right beside Lavender Cafe and large clean massage chains such as Kaki-kaki and JB Spa so visitors can have some convenience. Room: 4 of 5 balls Pretty basic and clean room. Room was decent size with a king size bed. Shower area was standard size though and from the pictures you could obviously tell more efforts were placed into designing the room than the bathroom. No minibar/fridge, although they provided a kettle and an empty tumbler for your own convenience. Service: 4 of 5 balls No breakfast included (you can have it at the Lavender cafe beside it anyway). The hotel is situated on the 2nd level and you will need to climb stairs to reach it. Didn’t manage to see any lifts in the hotel. Lastly hotel’s wifi was choppy and slow, which to me was the only negative of the stay. Overall, clean budget hotel for a short stay in JB. If you are willing to forego amenities like swimming pools and hotel breakfast, the amount you saved staying here will provide you with a different but pleasant experience. My choice to return here over hotels like Holiday Villa or KSL.…
