I walked into the cheap 2 star hotel like any other ordinary day, hoping for an ordinary early night sleep. At the reception counter, I stood to wait for the receptionist to realise I was there. Finally, she looked up, and recognised me. She smiled. I said, wondering to myself what else I might be doing there, that I am checking in, while handing her my identity card. She said, with a big smile as if trying to be sweet, "Again?" I couldn't help myself. "Well, I didn't come here to see you!" She sort of laughed at my comment. I think she tried to figure out whether she should be embarrassed or not. I just wanted her to give me my room key. She spent a good few minutes tapping into the keyboard, checking against my identity card. As each minute passed, I thought I should be getting closer to getting my room card. I needed the toilet, quite soon. She offered me a room with no window. I asked whether I could get a room with a window. She then offered me a room with a single bed. I asked if I could get a room with a double bed. Then she said the rooms with double beds are all taken. I said, fine, I'll have the room with the window then. She said those are also all taken. This is when I began to think this must be an ordinary day. Because this is an ordinary conversation. Because ordinary conversations involve ordinary people and ordinary people are just stup*d. She then said the room rate will be some amount. I said fine. I really needed to use the toilet to let go of my ordinary sh*t, by then. She then realised I had already booked online for a room and she had just wasted the last 15 minutes looking for a room that was already allocated to me. There was absolutely no need to look for a double bed, windowed or unwindowed room. Someone else had already done the job. She's not an ugly girl. Big eyes, sharp chin, small frame, an average height. But her makeup was so thick she must have applied them with a rather big paintbrush or a mini-roller. You could easily tell she was hiding some bad skin and that she aspires to be whiter than humanly possible. I am sure makeup comes in many colours but surely milky white is not one of them? Or maybe 'Curd and Whey'. Or, dried up plaster of paris? What do I know. I got my room key. She fiddled with the credit card machine but it's so ordinarily dull, my mind had turned off by then. It had had enough of trying to observe the insipidly mundane. Either that, or it was having a mini-seizure induced by the dullness of this clumsy, unprepared, caked-face, long haired girl, who clearly preferred to be somewhere else fixing her long nails. I felt sad for her though. As she must have felt sad for me too. Here I am, in a certified two-star hotel, alone in a strange city, late at night, eager to go straight into my room to take a big smelly dump. And there she was, struggling to do a simple task at a simple job, hoping that someone decent would marry her soon, clearly for her looks and nothing else, so she didn't have to work here anymore. I wished her luck, silently in my mind for I didn't want to ever interact with her again. Please get married so the hotel could hire someone else with a bit more intelligence, someone less ordinary. We both would be so much happier.

Booked this hotel for the first time during the labour day long weekend and I've booked the Executive Premier room which is the only room available left on Agoda website. it's about 40mins drive from Bukit Indah and when we checked in, the reception told me that the Executive Premier room is actually not available and Agoda had actually made a mistake. Good thing they still had 1 last standard room available for us as it was almost midnight already when we checked in. The room was small and not very clean. We didn't even bother to have their breakfast. There's quite a lot of shopping and food nearby.

Outside view of Hotel very clean and well maintained. Very friendly staff but some are not good in English. Restaurant and lobby clean and neat. Room is very basic but serves it purpose, walls could need a fresh coat of paint as they are full of stains and shower head needs to be replaced. Overall the value is good for the price they are charging. I don't use the free breakfast but the coffee was very good. Location is good with other restaurants in close vicinity

I booked a 4 bedroom but only get 3 bedroom instead with 2 queen and 2 single whereas we have 8 adult and 2 kids. So there is not enough bed to accomodate us. The hotel only compensate us with 20% discount because of this. But its ok with me because the location is great. But the worst terrible unexceptable thing that happen is that there is no bloody hell TV in the room. What kind of hotel is this...Even 1 star hotel have a tv or at least a tiny whinny tv in it.

I am not someone who likes to write negative reviews, but seriously this hotel need improvement Room - there was always no new toilet roll replaced. From other old reviews in below, I could see that management never take action into this. The toilet roll given was not in new, it was used. Therefore always need to ask for more toilet roll which is troublesome. - slippery after shower. Be careful if you bring along elderly because myself also slipped for few times after shower. - no vacuum. I saw the housekeepers cleaning the room using a broom. The next day I asked for vacuum clean as I am allergy to dust when they sweep the floor. The housekeeping maid replied me that all their vacuum is malfunction, "rosak". Can't the management just spend few vacuums to ease their cleaners' job? There was only 4 floors of room. - coffee cup without spoon. - phone cable always plugged out whenever you take the phone. There is always have noise when you try to call to operator or receptionist. One hand pushing in the cable and another hand hold the phone. Better to use your own phone to call to request for room service - sometimes have face towel sometimes only towel - good things is room was spacious, they always replaced new toothbrush for you, sound proof not bad, there was safe deposit box, mini fridge, hair dryer and iron & ironing board inside room - Astro TV channel but some with poor signal. However, the channel is sufficient to kill your boredom Breakfast - from 6.30-10.00am. Food finished at 9.00am will not be replenished. So please dine early. - flies are seen everywhere from buffet line, cutleries to your table and chair - coffee is good. Food taste need big improvement. - school canteen menu but they have egg station which is good. Despite, they have salad, bread, egg, main course, soup, porridge, and dessert - They start sweeping the floor and spray all the table even when I was still eating. Perhaps I was the last person but it was only about 9.40am. Flying dust. Sky lounge and karaoke - their bar only open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - can't find the karaoke lounge Location - good location. Restaurant and shops are just within walking distance

Was staying almost a week in a room without window as other options were fully booked. Everything is clean and tidy, comfortable sleep. However not advisable for guests with asthma for the room without window because it affected me. & also when I request additional toilet roll at front desk (not sure why they can't send it to the room), they seem annoyed. Breakfast is expected to be limited with price like this. Dont put high expectation on that.

The Executive, Evelyn Fernandez has offered an outstanding service during my stay at this hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She puts her heart into it in doing a good job. Personally I think the hotel is very fortunate to have a staff member such as Evelyn. She also has provided an extra mile service when it was her off day and emergency situation. Later I met up the hotel manager, Aebin Tai in person. She introduced me to her family members. She also has invited me to the hotel christmas party. They feed me with delicious food. They are humble and nice people. i highly recommend any travellers to stay at Swan Garden Hotel.

The hotel located in pasir gudang. The room not too small, the beds are good. Clean enough to rest. There are food stalls near the hotel and also place for karaoke. You can have breakfast also in this hotel. Not bad but not too delicious. Suit for you who came to johor bahru for business, but not to suitable for family with kids..
