Anyway, even though my trip was short I enjoyed my stay. The staff are very attentive and polite. The rooms are quite spacious and clean, although there is a musty smell which is quite prevalent.
You can't park your car in front of the hotel. You have to park in a lot which is about a 5 minute walk away. However, hotel employees are always at the ready to ferry you on golf buggies to the other buildings within the resort.
As the hotel is in the middle of a golf resort, it's quite peaceful. In the day time however, you do see golfers whizzing about in golf carts. Was so tempted to try to golf but wasn't there long enough.
Reserved the room on booking.com for about 400 ringgit (inclusive of taxes and extra charges). Was surprised it wasn't that expensive as this Balinese influenced hotel with wooden decor looks liked you'd have to fork out more.
check in was fast... was very detail explained. always put on a smile. very professionally done. the duty manager, escorted me till front lobby of anugraha and i could park my motorcycle at the lobby itself. it really make me feel secure of the safety of my bike.
request to decorate the bed as it was my wife birthday, as seen in some pics but it was not done. but it doesn't really matters to me though, i love the room.... clean... big and really comfy. the furniture need to refurnished though.
went to pulai spa had 60 mins of massage and requested for scrub too. was really professionally done. really feels good after that.
poolside candle light dinner was superb.... greeted by the duty manager Ms Salmah. always put on a smile and the crew served us well. atmosphere was so romantic as my wife really love the 3 courses that was being served and it was delicious.
morning breakfast was again greeted by Ms Salmah and it really feels welcome and the breakfast was simple but good...
swimming pool was good... two location one near to anugraha and the other near cinta ayu.
overall we had a great relaxing time in pulai spring resort, anugraha resorts.
well done.. keep it up.
2. During check in, the front desk requested me to fill out a form for the breakfast that will be delivered to the room in the next morning. I have requested for a 9.30am delivery, but breakfast never did arrive until 11am (and only being sent after > 10 calls to chase the personnel Ms Mira at Room Service department) - completely UNACCEPTABLE.
3. this boutique hotel is supposed to be quiet and young children-free but unfortunately, right next to our room, a family with 5 young CHILDREN checked in on December 26 and made lots of noises. - totally disappointing
4. Hair dryer wasn't available in the room. we called housekeeping and they gave excuses like "sorry we ran out of hair dryers" - totally unacceptable for a 5-star hotel.
5. the water pressure/ water volume of the toilet bidet was totally uncontrollable, wasn't a pleasant experience to use it
6. there wasn't a phone in the room for in-house call, every time i need to request for something i'll have to use my own cellphone. it was mentioned on their website that they have IDD phone in the room, merely a lie.
7. lodged a complaint to the hotel but nobody bothered to reply for the past 2.5 weeks.
5-star hotel? totally overrated!
The hotel lobby area was plushly decorated with only one check-in counter. We liked our room (Room 8108) which was spacious and decked out in dark wood it had a luxurious feel. The bathroom was large with double sinks, shower area and a bathtub. The bed was very comfortable and we did enjoy a good night's rest but unfortunately was woken up at 5.45am by golf buggies whizzing by our window. Had I known about the early 'wake up call' I would've requested for a room away from the golf course or upstairs. The only other gripe I have is the poor wifi (I could not get a signal at all from our room) and TV reception.
Breakfast was served at the Cinta Ayu 2 which is in the main building (Pulai Springs Resort), There was a good variety to cater to all tastes although the restaurant started to get a bit crowded at 8.30am. The night before we had dinner at Gleneagle Terrace where we found a decent range of western / asian dishes. The dishes we ordered (seafood pasta, chicken satay, grilled beef salad) were delicious. There was a bbq buffet that night for a very reasonable RM48++ per head but in the end we chose to go a la carte.
Activities wise there is plenty to do at the resort. The clubhouse has a gym, a cineplex, a pub /karaoke bar, two swimming pools (one with a kids' slide) as well as organised children's activities. It's an ideal place for families and my husband and I have decided to bring our kids next time we visit, although it will be the resort rather than the hotel itself (due to the no kids' policy).
Overall, we had a good experience at the Anugraha Boutique Resort and would recommend it for a couples getaway.
