15-min walk to ikea/toppen. Within 2-min walk, there’s 7-11 & a bar. Near austin area for lots of food places. Generally, a good location. Room is small, but meets most expectations. No durians or will be fined. No fridge, if its a concern. Overall, value for money!

Stayed there for a night in mid Dec. Hotel was packed and could not change room. Wasn't happy to find that toilet wasn't cleaned but housekeeping came in quickly to clean it up. However, toilet flushing pressure was low so there's still a mild smell. There is no place to hang clothes in the bathroom as walls hooks are lacking. Walls were thin and you could hear sound from the other room across the aisle; voices and even switching on/off lights. Beds and pillows were super-comfortable and channels on TV has SG channels. Location is near to Mamak store that operate 24hours. On the other side is a Viet Cafe. Check-in staff was friendly enough but couldn't say the same for the check-out staff. It seems the staff are waiting for you to greet them before they will return a greeting. Location is about 7mins to walk to AeonMall and a little further to Ikea. However there's no proper traffic lights or pedestrian walkway so have to walk with care. We took the road via hero supermarket for a shorter and safer way to AeonMall. Might choose a closer hotel nearer to AeonMall next time so do not need to traverse the dangerous roads.

Decided to venture out of JB and came to Mount Austin. Came upon this small boutique hotel and felt those who want a decent budget hotel, this is the one. It is near to Aeon Tebrau city mall. Nearby there is a Thai restaurant which serve authentic Thai cuisines without burning your pocket, at least compare with Singapore, it is about 20% cheaper. Across the road, there is a cafe known as Belly good cafe serve decent Vietnamese food at a budget too. These 2 restaurants will serve me well during your 2 days trip here. The staffs are friendly and the hotel have a chill out space at ground level too. By the way, I paid only S$22 for this room so as a solo traveller, there is nothing more you can asked for. Very comfy.

Terrible experience, small room, everything was dirty, stained. TV reception was the worst ever, nothing can be seen (might as well not have one) Toilet/bathroom NO privacy, you can see into the toilet from the bed. Uncomfortable. NO Breakfast (or at least we were not informed). There are other better places around this is just shockingly bad. no aircon in the corridors.

This Hotel is really hard to find. I have spent over an hour trying to locate this hotel. With GPS!! I am not a bad driver but seriously it took me literally an hour and I checked in at night time. When I checked in at the check in Hotel. We were given a room and there was two rooms. One for the Boss and One for the executives. The boss gets the cheapest room but it looks nicer that the one the executives were using. Yes.The design is incredible but the poor boss has to sleep on the floor. Not even on a single bed. With a mattress and blanket on the floor. We all had a bed and breakfast. Or should I say. BAD AND BREAKFUSS. The buffet breakfast was seriously unappetizing. Is that how you spell it? So, the baked beans were served cold, unless you like cold beans and the eggs were... There isn't even eggs. We had to ask them for some fried eggs and they unwillingly cooked it for us. They had milk. My favorite and guess what they gave me. Not even cheap store bought milk. They were using baby powdered milk. Budget Stay. If you are not so Fussy. Stay here. Reasonable, I guess.

We expected way better room condition as this was touted as their "Metro Suite". Firstly, the wall paper in the room was coming off and was really unsightly. The room did not have adequate lighting. They tried to simulate mood lighting but it left a lot to be desired. The Room did not come with any box tissues for guests. Toilet roll was what was offered and you had to get that in the bathroom. Bathroom was a dismay! The person that put together the bathroom has obviously no clue what he is doing. Firstly, there were no ledges or anywhere in the shower stall to place your toiletries such as shampoo or soap or whatever which was really annoying. Again this shower had only a fixed rain shower head that was so high up that you had to be at least five foot six to reach the head to adjust it. That's because the shower stall door opened inwards and they had to elevate it or the door would smack into it. Then there is the issue again that the shower had no flexible shower head which made it a real pain to shower kids without the adult getting totally wet! Then the bathtub. Yes it had a bathtub but no shower head at all! Just a faucet to fill up the bathtub for a bath. And the towel rack was placed over the toilet seat instead of adjacent to the bath tub which would be the ideal place. You would have to get out of the bathtub and walk 2 paces over to the toilet area to get your towel. Drove me nuts! On top of that, there were no clothes hooks in the bathroom! I could see where previously there were hooks behind the bathroom door but that came off and the hotel have not replaced it! Ridiculous! The room floor was a laminate that simulated wood flooring but it felt dirty. We booked for two nights and wished we didn't. We left the hotel in the morning and returned in the afternoon and the room was still not made. We had to call down to reception to get someone to come clean and replaced our towels. And we had to ask for our complimentary bottled water the day we checked into the room as it didn't have any. The "Suite" we had was facing the front road. It was noisy what with the bikes speeding by. The windows were thin to say the least so no sound proofing there at all. Which leads us to the walls. Totally hopeless sound proofing. The neighbours were inconsiderate opening and closing their room doors with a slam and it reverberated along the corridors and of course into our room as well. Not very nice when the booming slam of the door happens after midnight. I've learned my lesson. Never again stay shall I stay in a "hotel" housed in a "shop lot" building. Tried a few and mostly resulting in disappointment. Also, Agoda's rates for such "mini hotels" are no better than walk-in rates. No reduced cost benefits at all. for RM165 a night, it was a ripoff! I wouldn't even pay rm100 for this poor excuse of a "suite". p.s. I'm sorry that I sound "disgruntled" but I'm rather disappointed with Malaysian hotels. I've stayed in my fair share of hotels here but I never felt so disappointed so often when booking and staying in hotels here. I've had much better experiences staying in hotels in Vietnam. Cleaner and more comfortable not to mention better service.

A big group of us checked into this hotel. We got a variety of rooms including the deluxe queen, family room, and the suite. There we some mixed reviews. The higher end rooms were definitely good. Pretty spacious and clean. They had the necessary utilities. However, for the normal queen deluxe, the room was not as great. The wallpaper was coming out, there are cockroaches in the room, it smelled weird. Some were lucky enough to get a decent room, majority were not. Location wise, it was pretty convenient. Food stalls walking distance away, there's a bar next to the hotel. The guard was good, as they provided us parking spots in front of the hotel. Service was alright.
