Detailed Reviews
This is my 2nd stay in Princeton Hotel, Bukit Indah, Johor. 1st trip is more of shopping at AEON and eating Zichar (local seafood), this trip is for my son to Legoland.
Why I pick Princeton Hotel...
As I do not want to spend RM800 for a nite stay at Legoland Hotel, I would think staying at Bukit Indah is a very good alternative for a couple of reasons
1) Transportation: Very easy to come from Singapore Jurong East Interchange (CW3) and Boon Lay Interchange (CW6), on returning home, you catch the bus at the same bus stop you alight, just outside AEON shopping mall. Princeton is just 5-7 minutes walk from the bus stop (towards Hotel Granada direction)
2) Shopping: AEON shopping mall which has plenty of eateries and a cinema. It has a big supermarket where you can get grocery as well.
3) Local Food: Near TESCO/GIANT, the shophouses at the junction of Persiaran Indah and Jalan Persisiran Perling 2. For breakfast, you can enjoy wonton mee, roti prata, char keoy tiao, etc. For dinner, you can get Zichar, seafood, satay, etc. If you do not want to walk that far (actually not far to me), there are plenty of eateries shops, ranging from Western, Thai, Chinese, to local food just along the street behind Princeton, yes, you can have your breakfast along this street. I have tried Tea Garden, good food, and nice tungsten lighting setup, quite romantic (if you going with your girlfriend). There is a confectionery shop, named MingAng, which sell very nice ShaoBao (roast bun) and MaTiShu (cookies with honey like sweet fillings)
4) Pasar Malam: I saw it at Bukit Indah2 (BI2)when I was on my way back from Legoland on a Wednesday evening. BI2 is closest town/taman next to Princeton Hotel, just a 5 minute drives, you can walk, but a little far.
5) For Christians, there are at least two churches along the long stretch of road behind Princeton as well.
6) If you want to go beyond Bukit Indah shopping, you can catch CW3S to Sutera Mall.
My Stay....
I arrived very early around 8.30am, room wasn’t ready (as expected, no complaint), but the friendly staff (an Indian lady) arranged to keep our luggage at the counter as I told her I am heading to Legoland. We had picked a Superior King room, which was much bigger and spacious for my wife and son. Everything was basic which was just what I needed, very clean, had a window, quiet but powerful aircon, though sound proofing of the walls was not fantastic. One comment was the WiFi had excellent connection, much better than those 3-4 stars hotels I stayed in KL or Penang. I was also surprised to find out Princeton Hotel were selling Legoland tickets at ~20% discount from what you would have gotten online, pretty good deal. At lobby, there are some selection of snacks and mineral water if you need at late nite. Not a big lobby, but had couple of sofa, bright and refreshing while you are waiting for a cab. Most of the staff I come across were friendly or very friendly.
Nearby Hotel...
Is there another hotel near Princeton? Yes. Hotel Granada, it is a 3-4 star hotel just beside Princeton. Can’t compare the two, as they should be in different category. If you go by the States standard, Granada is a hotel, while Princeton is a motel. Which is better? It depends on what fits your bill, the price is probably close to double for Granada, you can read the reviews in Tripadvisor or Agoda website and decide yourself. Other alternatives (along the street behind Princeton) are Kozi Hotel or Goody Hotel, they should belong to the same category as Princeton , I will still probably pick Princeton on my next visit, for its King size bed, friendly staff and good WiFi.
Taxi...
The friendly Indian lady staff at Princeton Hotel counter had helped to call me a cab to Legoland in the morning, pretty quick, driver at doorstep in about 10 minutes. The taxi was from Public Cab (Tel: 07-2413111), run by meter, cost me RM12-13, took ~10 minutes to reach Legoland. I was not familiar with the taxi companies here, but all Public Cab seems to be in RED color. The friendly Indian lady was rather knowledgeable and told me NOT to take those cab in BLUE at Legoland when I leave in the evening, true enough, I found out that it will probably cost me double. You must be very lucky if you can see a RED taxi waiting at the Medini Mall outside Legoland, but there are plenty of BLUE taxi, thus I call the Public Cab in both the evenings when I am done with Theme and Water Parks respectively, the taxi arrived pretty quick too, approx 15 minutes wait. I think most of the drivers speak some English at least, so no worries. I think there is a public bus (SL1) back to Bukit Indah, but only operate on weekends or public holidays (google Causeway Link website).

We stayed at the hotel for four nights in the mid of november for our trip to the Legoland parks and Puteri Harbor park. We chose the hotel as it was near to the location of our objective. The staff were friendly and helpful. We took a family room ( 1 large bed, 1 single bed ). The room was comfortable, the toilet was clean. TV was okay, with free channels with the Singapore TV channels clearer than Malaysia TV channel. Aircond was good :) which was very important for us. Our room did not have a clothes cabinet and a small table, so our clothes were kept in our bag. Also, breakfast is optional, which can be bought at the hotel counter. Other than those 2 things, it is a good place to stay, especially if you are going to the theme parks. Please do remember that the hotel is located at Bukit Indah, which is on the outskirts of JB. It is about 15 minutes car trip to JB and 20 minutes trip to the theme parks.

Took a RM168 family room with a queen and a single. Call them direct as I couldn't find any 3rd party hotel reservation sites. It's near Aeon and was deciding between hotel Granada which is nearer Aeon, but decided on this as we just needed a basic hotel that served our needs ie. sleep over after a full day at legoland, which is some 10minutes drive away. Clean hotel and good counter service but don't expect too much given the very reasonable price. Much local food fare around and we went to one of the tze char restaurants at the side road, some 2 minutes walk along the road, but unfortunately had no name card and which served good Malaysian Chinese restaurant food fare at a good price.
Hotel provided wifi and worked well hence was able to type this. Parking right in front of hotel with ample parking spaces. A massage outlet just beside the hotel , easily recognizable by the twin terracotta statues at the doorway was equally superb and reasonably priced. Not much night life around and serve you well to get some beverages from nearby Tesco or aeon as there are no convenience shops on the vicinity. Overall, good stay for us and 2 kids

Our family just returned from JB. We went to LegoLand & decided to stay at Princeton Hotel. We stayed at Princeton Hotel for 2 nights. We checked several budget / economy hotels from internet, and found out Princeton Hotel gave us the super deal. That is LegoLand+Hotel which is totally gratifying. We travelled by bus to JB and stopped at a bus stand near Bukit Indah Jusco. It is just walking distance from Jusco to Princeton Hotel. There are lots of other dining places at walking distance; like 24hrs MacDonald and others. The room is perfectly clean and tidy. We took a family room and it was worth the money paid. In general hotel, room and bathroom was well maintained and kept clean always. Unlike other budget hotels, Princeton Hotel provides full set of amenities. As FREE amenities, a tooth brush, single use toothpaste, soap, shampoo and bath was provided superbly. The Hotel receptionists were extremely friendly and helpful always. They have guided us well throughout the trip. I would highly recommend Princeton Hotel if you are staying somewhere close to Bukit Indah or want a happy holiday at LegoLand. Our 6 years old son enjoyed this trip maximum. Thank you Princeton Hotel! You are just superb!

budget hotel for good location. The walls between rooms can be quite thin. A loud snoring neighbour did make sleeping difficult. But cleanliness and helpful hotel staff is commendable. The toilet seat was not comfortable at all. Otherwise a nice budget place for people who prefers location than comfort.

I booked a family room for our short break to LEGOLAND for our daughter's birthday treat on the 18 Jan 13.The staff at the reception counter are very friendly and attentive, they let us check in early when we arrive at 1030. We left our luggage in the room and the staff even help us to get a taxi to LEGOLAND. I was very impressed when they also remember our request for an electric kettle to make milk for my toddler.
The room was very clean, it had everything we need, it was quiet and we all had a good rest after a fun day at LEGOLAND. Food was no issue as there are a number of café and restaurants just around Princeton. We also did our shopping and had dinner at Aeon , just across the road from Princeton.
Princeton Hotel is a great place to stay especially if visiting LEGOLAND which is just 10 minutes drive and if you love shopping, Aeon Jusco, Tesco and Giant are all within walking distances from Princeton.
The staff at Princeton is very prompt when we request for extra pillows and they came to the room within a few minutes. Overall, we have a great stay at Princeton and will definitely make it our first choice of stay if we were to visit LEGOLAND again. (which we are planning for our boy's birthday in March).
Both my husband and myself are very impressed with the wonderful service provided by the staff, both checking in and out was fast and they go the extra miles when we couldn't get a taxi back to the Malaysia immigration through calling, one of their staff stood in the rain to stop passing taxi.
Regards,
Sally

I love the strategic location because it's so convenient. Just about 10minutes drive to Legoland; and few steps away is the jusco bukit indah. I and my family will definitely make this hotel our first choice for our weekend escape and grocery shopping as Tesco is also just opposite the hotel. Best is; it only takes 20 minutes from 2nd link to be here. I can avoid the jam staying in jb town. Not that I also saw causeway buses station is just behind the hotel. Overall I can get everything I need staying around this area. Food certainly not an issue as there is a grand Chinese restaurant nearby.
The service is friendly and the room is big to cater 4 of us in a family room with very little money. However is not easy to book the hotel; I have tried to call 3 times but always been told rooms is fully booked.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a night as the prices were reasonable. However, at 2am we saw a bedbug scurrying about our bed. We immediately requested for a room change but the consequent room was infested too. The reception staff handled it poorly and dismissed it as a "common" problem. We were only able to get our refund after speaking to the manager. Poor hygiene and customer management, would not recommend

This hotel is a little lesser than the Tune Hotel. The reception people are accommodating. The bed and pillows are clean and soft. The bed size is good as well. My complains are these: the cups for drinking is not very clean, I am not sure if it is a residue that hardened already or the cup is really old as it looks like brownish already. On the sink, there is some noodles, this gives us the impression that the room is really not very clean. Plus point is the aircon is good and they provide hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Still I can recommend this for a budget hotel for an overnight stay.
