Typical Malaysia courses, club house and lockers conditions still a huge challenge to keep in tip top condition.
The hotel rooms may not be the most equipped compared to some other resorts (for example, TV channels are limited and there are no bath robes or bedroom slippers; toilet floor also tends to get wet easier as there is no shower curtains in the bathroom).
However, the spacious hotel rooms (with their high ceilings) are a major draw and they are clean with comfortable beds. The new function rooms for events are suitably equipped and they are close to the dining areas and hotel rooms, making access across the resort quick and easy. Many church friends shared similar sentiments in that they enjoyed the facilities (including swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna), the quiet surrounding environment, and the relatively smaller crowd compared to other chalets. The facility is also big enough for group activities or games (indoor and outdoor).
What stands out to me most, however, is the impeccable service that the resort staff provided to my group of around 50 plus folks. They were friendly, warm and helpful, and paid great attention to ensure our needs were well taken care of, be it technical assistance for the function room or food catering.
Once again, would highly recommend this place for all companies or other groups seeking a place for retreat.
The rooms & toilets are super spacious. I think is even much bigger than our house living room. There are inter-connecting rooms with my friends.
We bought our kids for a swim. I think is swimming pool needs to have more maintenance due to fallen leaves. There is no swimming towels available.
The varieties for breakfast in cafe was little and taste normal. But nothing taste weird. However, when I was taking the food, I saw a lizard was on the walls behind the food.
There are facilities, like Kids Zoom, gym, mini soccer table, pool tables, table-tennis and jacuzzi. We bought our kids to play mini soccer table, pool table and table tennis. I think the Kids Zoom are for smaller children, just a room and some toys. The jacuzzi looks cool but we have no time to use.
Most important, I feel the rooms are cosy, spacious and able to see a good view of scenery.
Although the location is further and we used Grab to go around to the near shopping centres, the room is very spacious and well equipped. We have booked the Platinun suite (3 bedroom) as we went as a family. Every room is equipped with a bathroom (jacuzzi and shower area for master, bathtubs for the other 2), and ample space for the kids to go around. Service was good too from the staff.
Amenities are really good, especially the theater (can be a private cinema and can lie down so comfortably). A lot more others like jacuzzi, sauna, ktv, games room, etc.
A great family place even though if you do not play golf.
Just some cons of location and wifi was really bad in room. Also, to get to certain places like ktv, theater, etc, there's only stairs so we could not bring my elderly grandma up as she was not able to climb the stairs.
Planning a trip back with my big family.
Thank you.
Even the furniture can found to have clear signs of aging.
Wifi is weak in the room unless you are near to the door.
In-room service only available until 9pm.
There are no nearby shops and the nearest shop is 10 to 15mins drive away.
Breakfast is pathetic. Not much choice and tasteless.
This is a golf resort and surprisingly that there is no golf shop there.
The staffs there are quite friendly and helpful.
*check-in on Thursday 20th April, 2pm
*stayed here under recommendation from a friend who had his wedding in 2016.
Check-in was hassle-free. Thank you to the frontdesk staff. I was escorted from the reception to the lift lobby; walking thru the coffee house, to the outdoor seats (that over look the golf course) pass the event hall and finally up a few steps to the lift lobby. Short tour but informative.
No Wifi in room; only along the lobby. But the leakage spreads to the room and presto! You do have some wifi in your room and I think this only applies to the rooms nearer the central part of the building. Those rooms at the furthest ends might not have wifi in their rooms.
Room is majestically spacious; so spacious that you can fit 8 nos., yes 8 King-sized beds! And you still have a separate wardrobe, fitting room, fridge & drink making station on top of the spacious room. Oh, and the bathroom has a separate shower, separate toilet & a bathtub. All-in-all, u need to do a lot of walking in these rooms! Not to mention the breath-taking view of the golf-course from the room.
The light switches in the room are kindly confusing. The touch-pads are so worn you can hardly read under normal light. You would need to come close to the pads and see what the switches are for. Some work, some switches don’t.
Beds and pillows are good. There are many stories about laundry hygiene and so on, if you are scared of those germs under UV light, don’t travel. Because the moment you touch the door handle, you are germed! Don’t be stressed when you travel, a hand-sanitizer does wonders to all hotel fixtures and your hands.
The aircon is good; but it is unable to drop to our desired temperature. The thermostat is there, just like other hotel rooms, but it does not work. It turns round & round & round and it still does not work.
Bathroom works like magic. The water pressure is excellent, toilet is good & lights adequate. Not much to write here on bathroom.
One thing about this resort is it’s age. It has seen better days and it is reliving the good days. I personally do not see the aging wood, for example, as an old rut. It is an epic structure sitting on one of the best lands in Johor.
Breakfast is simple with western and local dishes prepared. I’m truly satisfied with the spread as I normally have 3 courses for breakfast. 1) Light, bread & spread 2) Medium; porridge with garnishes 3) Heavy; rice or noodles
But on Saturday morning, the main spread is not available. Only the bread & drink counter is open. As we sat down, the staff approached with a menu at hand, saying today is ala-carte; 3 options for breakfast.
The swimming pool was under maintenance; so it’s one facility down.
The kids’ room, on the upper level, was truly a kids’ room. I can imagine the previous bunch threw a hurricane and left everything uprooted in their path. But my kids are happy anyway.
The gym, lounge, internet room & karaoke rooms are all on the upper level, without any guests when we were there. Place is well taken care of.
To conclude, our overall experience here was good. Every establishments have got their shortcomings. We make do with expectations against the cost that was paid.
Will come back again when opportunity arises.
Average cleanliness, as you'll find bits of stains on the bed sheets. Bathroom cleanliness was acceptable, but the shower water pressure was really low, and shower head's not adjustable (it was kind of inward, doubt a bigger-sized person find it comfortable to shower).
"Choose the room for 4 adults if you have kids. You get 2 big beds and a huge room."Read full review
