service is good as there is a service to load and unload the customer luggage bag which make us feel very relaxing and no worry about the baggage.

the village is facing in front of sunset and have a beautiful sunset view. the room is nice as it is facing the sea view, room and bathroom is clean. it is unexpectedly that a broom is available in the room which it is very convenient for me to sweep the sand.

However, it will be much grateful if the reservation team has do care and do inform the kitchen side to take note about our vegetarian meals request during our visit as, we were very shocked that we were being served a non vege meal during our first meal there.

Although, the vegetarian meals is available but do hope that the kitchen side is able to serve an extra one more vege dishes especially for the lunch meal. As on third day of our stay, the lunch vege meal only the potato wedge was being served which cause our eating food is very dried and dull. Hope the kitchen side can improve the meals cooking.

My friends and I (4 of us) had a last minute booking to celebrate my birthday since our initial plan to Sabah had to be postponed to next year due to covid cases that's emerging in Sabah.
Our jaw dropped when we arrived, looking at the beautiful long private beach and it's pristine clear blue greenish water. The surrounding areas are so clean, calm and well maintained. We witnessed beautiful sunrise, in between 6am to 7am.
Our food throughout our stay were delicious. We were lucky enough to meet Linda, the owner of the resort. She was so kind she even surprised me with a birthday cake and they sang me birthday song. All the staff are so friendly and well trained. We all had personalised touch and we definitely remember each of the staff who took care of us.
Appreciation goes to Irene, Ben and Boy for helping us with DSD, paddleboarding and snorkeling with sunset view. To Azwan and Mamat our boatmen that has always keep us safe. Alan and Maddy served us the best food and drink all the time. Charlie cute lil angel that keep us company during our sunset view.
We had an awesome time throughout our stay and definitely would want to come back again. The hospitality was top notch and it was one of a kind personalised service excellence, consistently exceed our expectations from day 1.
I have gone around telling all my family and friends about Sea Gypsy giving my 5 stars recommendation. They are all impressed and looking forward to their next trip to Sea Gypsy.

I really do hope to see you again Sea Gypsy 😊

Stumbled upon this resort because a friend stayed there few weeks ago. Since my friends and I wanted to go on another beach getaway, we decided to give it a go. Didn't check much on their site until the very last minute.

Initially was worried about not having hot shower & internet while my friends were worried about the lack of a/c. But I must say, this place did not disappoint. From the moment we have stepped onto the jetty area until the time we needed to leave the resort, felt very welcomed by the owner - Richard. He picked us up and send us back to the jetty area.

The package comes with full board meals and you just need to get ready and go to the dining area during meal times. Since there were arouhd 30 of us, all the meals were served buffet style. The food were delicious. Personal favorite is the Grilled Chicken Rice Served on our last day.

The lack of connectivity was compensated by a full list of available activities that will keep you busy and forget about your phone for a while. We did snorkeling at Pulau Besar (powdery white sand), diving (great visibility and healthy corals too), trekking to a small waterfall at Pulau Tinggi and just chilled on the beach. They also have paddleboard, tree climbing, archery and others.

Overall, after 4 days and 3 nights, we were not ready to leave the island. Awesome staff (Boi, Ben, Jai, Ate Mari). Great Food. Rustic Place. I highly recommend this place if you wanted to get away from city life. Disconnect from your gadgets. This is the place to visit. Hopefully, we can visit again soon. ❤

Pros:
Great place. I was impressed at the creative and innovative use of resources of this resort. Bio garden, outdoor gym, lots of places for kids to explore, tree climbing activities.

A great chance to detox from devices as there are no TVs and very poor wifi signal.
No Ac but cool/windy enough.
Staff are friendly.
Food was very good.
Kids loved Richard, the guy with the BIG personality.
Beach is long and sandy and waves are big enough for kids to use bodyboards and have fun.
Good diving experience.

Cons:
Full board Resort but not inclusive of activities for kids and adults. Prices of activities are high and tbh activities should be of better quality. If you're making friendship bracelets it should be more than just a string of wool.
Rooms near the bar were very noisy. You could hear the Staff and guests' laughter or chatting very clearly.
Prices of drinks and snacks are expensive. A gin and tonic could set you back 55RM.

Tips:
Take a walk to the Kampung on your own, no need to wait for Sea Gypsy's tour. Choose kids activity wisely.
Take your own bodyboard.
Take your own bottle of gin and drink it on the beach.
Take a small trek to the other resort called Rimba if you need to get good phone signal and cheaper drinks and snacks and/or see weird creatures at low tide.

Weather in October was still pretty good.

A 👍🏾 holiday @seagypsyvillage in the Sultan Iskander Marine Park. A family owned and run eco resort with a such a chilled vibe. The kids club had my two on a treasure hunt, painting the jungle and making friendship bracelets, as well as making friends after dinner through specially run activities and staying up to watch movies, supervised, while we enjoyed gorgeous cocktails. A great baby sitting service that came to our hut on the beach too, it meant we could fully relax. A 4.5hr drive from KL to the jetty and a then a 20min private motor boat to a beautiful 🏝 overlooking a volcano and with only the resorts guests. They have a separate menu for vegans and vegetarians, let them know when you book so they can stock up on rice, almond and soya milk. I loved their granola with plenty of seeds in and the cocktails were on point. I’m picky from my bar tending days. The water from their well is great, don’t expect a hot shower though, the temperature isn’t cold but as nature intended. This is a chilled eco resort, so come to let go and relax.

I cannot recommend Sea Gypsy highly enough for a relaxing get away.
Tucked behind a beautiful long beach, the resort is an idyllic get away from 5he real world.
The accommodation is different to resort hotels, as you stay in simple beach huts with an attached bathroom for each hut.
By day, the food for breakfast lunch and dinner is a buffet, and no fault could be found in the quality. Very nice, very fresh.
The beach is maybe 500m+, and is that perfect white sand. The sea is warm and very easy to swim in.
At night, the bar is very relaxed, and the staff are very attentive.

We used this weekend as a digital detox, so used their snorkelling, hiking and stand up paddle boarding. They are very active for scuba diving but we did not use that this time.

The resort is definitely targeted towards families and couples, and serves customers very well.

I will definitely be returning

We had a great time at this resort. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is great, home cooked and tasty. The beach is beautiful with very soft white sand. The rooms are simple and comfortable. Dive centre is run by the same people as the resort which makes it very easy to organize your day. We had a fabulous week and would most certainly want to come back!

Just back home to London after an amazing 2 week holiday at Sea Gypsy. This was my second visit and I can’t rate it highly enough. The resort is a fantastic place to get away from it all and completely switch off. Richard, Linda and all the staff are so helpful and welcoming. The food is always delicious and Parmin made some amazing cocktails, the lychee martini was lovely. The beach is so clean and quiet and there are plenty of activities on offer including snorkelling, waterfall walks and diving. The rooms (and whole resort) are spotless and cleaned every day. I can’t wait to return to the paradise of Sea Gypsy. 😊

This amazing little gem is just a short boat ride East of Johor but feels like a continent away from the hustle & bustle of the mainland. The place is family owned and feels really like you're invited into someone's home. The service feels intimate (like you are visiting friends) but not imposing. The resort and the huts are basic done really well. And best thing of all, it's dog friendly! It's not for you if you're after a big 5-star commercial resort, but if you're up for a truly amazing city getaway, where you have no wifi (barely any phone connection), no meal decisions to make (all meals are included), just a beautiful beach, friendly people, cold drinks and no worries in the world, well this is the place. Don't hesitate, just book it and go.

Amongst all my island trips, this one felt most at home :) We had a really great experience here! From the time we arrived to the time we left, the hospitality of the crew was amazing and that made our trip really memorable. It was a pleasant stay by a clean beach. A very well kept and spacious resort nested among the coconut trees. The lounge area was comfortable to chill, read, or play some boardgames while enjoying the sea breeze. We did a snorkelling and trekking trip, it was worth it! Quite a good amount of fishes while we're in the sea, and the view from the highest point of Sibu island was spectacular. The trek was fun and an adventure! The toilet was very clean, the beds were comfortable to sleep on, and the air was cooling. Food was always sufficient and I loved the Mas Huni! Really enjoyed our stay here. You can feel the attention, care, and love that was poured into this village while they built it. But the best part of it was everyone made us felt at home. Thanks Richard, Jade, Irene, Boi, Ben, Jay, Hafiz, and many more sea gypsies that I didn't had the opportunity to get their names. You guys are awesome!
