Made a reservation one day before the stay, just left deluxe room. We chose the street view which is facing Lotus hypermarket. The deluxe room and bathroom are very spacious room. We stayed at level 11. Unfortunately, the room was not so clean. i saw the blood stain on the bed sheet. The swimming pool is still closed since we stayed last 2 years. Overall, not satisfied with their services.

Frankly speaking, the hotel looks dirty, old and barely maintained. The wifi connection is extremely poor . The room is freaking dark and the washroom is smelly. Most importantly price is unacceptable and unreasonably high. Yet, the location is great but i wont stay there anymore.

Booked 2 rooms and stayed 3 nights in this hotel. Pros 1.Clean rooms and bathrooms 2.Amazing view from 13th floor 3.There a Lotus Hypermart across the road with awesome food court where you can find every taste possible 4.There's a lot of food stalls just in-front of the hotel where you can sample local foods 5.The aircon and hot water work great 6.The breakfast is tasty and portions are big. Everything are tasty and worth more than the price you paid for. Con 1.Really none except some minor things that are not worth to mention here. Others 1.If you arrive via ETS. The Grab to this hotel is about RM8. 2.Car rental is cheap - Myvi at RM120/day and delivery fees RM30 if you asked them to deliver the car to your hotel and you drop the car at ETS station. 3.The swimming pool and the chinese restaurant are closed for now.

Arrived at hotel late at night. Worktop desk lamp not working in a dark dark room. Very difficult to work at the table. Bathroom badly designed. Shower large but not cleaned well. Bathroom dusty. Wanted to use hair dryer after washing hair but it was broken. Picked up phone to call reception but it wasn't even plugged in!! Tried to plug it in but the jack point was stuffed up. Went down to reception to complain about these 3 issues and they sent an electrician at midnight to look at the desk lamp and he fixed the phone. After 20 mins he came back with a light bulb and replacement hair dryer. The people manning reception at midnight (3 Dec) ought to be re-trained or fired. Ditto for the staff at 6:30am (4 Dec) Oh... I called up the hotel to ask them the average cost of taxi from airport to hotel. They had zero idea! Ridiculous...

The hotel is basically a hit run down with minimal maintenance being carry out. Toilet - especially stains could be found all over, hot water shower not hot, non stop running water from WC. Room - stain on outside building window which is building up - you won’t want to draw up the curtain to view the outside padi fields. Lobby - if you are checking in late night the lobby is dimly lighted especially if one is driving here walking from car park to hotel with a loony that’s not lighted is a thing. Breakfast - with the amount that you paid for breakfast it’s totally not worth your money selection is limited and the same for the pass 3 days. Facilities - basically are all closed beside the gym, restaurants closed at 3pm any meals like dinner you will need to have them before return to this hotel.

The hotel is functional - the rooms are reasonably clean and comfortable. However, there little else. The coffee house was not open during our stay. The good thing is that there are several F&B options within walking distance. Keep in mind that the city centre is approximately a ten-minute drive from the hotel.

I read so many bad reviews abt this hotel. When we were there, I was thinking of my dear old mother and wanted to get her a comfy big room to stay during our recent trip up north. My family and me in the other room. Thankfully, we got the connecting rooms. Well, what else can I say abt this hotel? My wife asked me to put up the 2 yucky photos from the bathroom. The rest you can imagine yourself. I like to think of the potentials and opportunities. Why are hotels in Japan (big, small, budget or luxury) are always very clean and so liveable in? Because the folks there care and genuinely has the passion to make it work for them, for the hotel and for the visitors of course. Grand Alora, you are a big sized hotel and should be the pride of the North in Malaysia. But you are not because of these missed opportunities. Be passionate and really think how you guys can make this work, and therefore change the perceptions of the public. You can if you want to. Thank you.

Tandas kotor dan dinding dalam tandas berlumut. Minibar rosak, shower rain tak function. No one from front office or management meet me to apologise for bad facilities and room upon checked out. Breakfast is not worth it when you have to pay it. 1 star hotel is better than your hotel. Shame on you Grand Alora. Staff need more training about customer service.

I stayed 1 night at this hotel for a business trip. This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel but unfortunately it doesn’t meet the expectations. From outside the hotel looks grand! But inside, it is in bad shape! Even the ceiling at the main lobby is leaking and cracked. The swimming pool, spa and gym are also not operational. The display screen in the elevators didn’t work too. So, you wouldn’t know which floor you’re at until the elevator’s door open! For some strange reasons, the coffee house and the lobby lounge closed very early. By 9pm the lobby area is dark already except for the reception area. I stayed in the deluxe room which is very spacious. Somehow, one of the pillows has no pillow cover. All television channels didn’t work too, apparently there’s a nationwide problem with the cable network provider. Then I realised the mini refrigerator didn’t work too! 😅😅. I have some milk-based drink that need to be refrigerated. The maintenance team had to replace the refrigerator with another one. And ohh.. the hot water is not hot at all! Last but not least, the buffet breakfast.. it’s really nothing much. Not worth it if you have to pay extra for it. Might as well go to the nearby restaurants for much nicer breakfast. The good thing about this hotel is its location. Just across the street is Lotus (fka Tesco) which has many shops and eateries. The hotel is also surrounded by many food stalls selling street foods especially in the evening. But please remember to ask for disposable spoon/fork from the streetfood vendors because there’s none in the hotel room. Not even teaspoon although coffee mix and tea bags are provided. I hate to sound so negative about this hotel but it is what it is. This hotel has good potential but need to get their act together quickly before its reputation get worsen.

Tonight is our second night staying in this hotel and i dont think this hotel deserves to get 5-star hotel. Even this is our second visit since the first one was in 2018. Reached the hotel at 10.30pm yesterday and none of doorman available to get our luggages. We need to do it all by ourselves with a 2-year old kid. Checked in went smooth and entertained by Naeim. He was so kind and helpful. However, i requested a babycot but we didnt receive any. Luckily, their king bed can occupied two adults and 2 little kids. The room is not clean at all. I found many stains at the bedsheet. I dont think they changed. The shower holder is broken. Need to pull the holder so that can have the heavy shower. Other facilities are also not available. The pool is closed because they couldn’t maintained well. Can see algae in the pool from our room at level 8. The most frustration was the operation hours of Lengkuas restaurant is not fixed. Called the hotel to check their operation hours of the restaurant and the receptionist said it was 5pm. Then, we set time with our friends to come over to the restaurant at 4pm today. But when they arrived, the restaurant was closed. It was so shameful. And this would be our last visit to this hotel. I bet there are so many best hotels around Alor Setar out there can give good services.
