The hotel is just basic with minimum facilities but what hit me was that the staff at the breakfast cafe who made a comment at me as if I cheated to get the second day free breakfast because of its own staff doing for collecting the 2 days coupon the day before. I hope the hotel should educate the staff especially their attitude towards senior citizens like me.

Langkawi is an expensive island for hotels and we chose this inexpensive one. It was okay for the four days we were there. The room was very small and rundown. The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant. Free WiFi in the lobby only. The restaurant was okay but more expensive than going out to eat and unfortunately the staff were miserable. The beach was fabulous with fine white sand, there were plenty of sunbeds with cushions and umberella's but when the tide went out in the afternoon there was hardly any sea left to swim in as the boat lanes cut off the swimming area.

My second stay here. The Lanai needs a lot of work due to the fact it's always due to be closed down, then all of a sudden it's open for 6 more months. Beds are comfy and bedding very clean, bathroom is just bearable. However great pool, nice breaky, free wifi in the lobby but best of all is the beachfront location and beachfront bar and restaurant. Staff have always been nice and helpful to me . I hope it's still open next time I visit Langkawi.

It's basically a hotel with a long list of no's. No porter, no lifeguard, no lifts, rooms with no ventilation, no housekeeping after midnight. There was even a couple of cockroaches and a stray cat running around the breakfast spread. The beach was well- maintained with an absence of watersport activities.

Don't stay here. I was recommended this place by a friend who said the rooms were a bit old but the staff was very friendly and the pool was great. The pool was great but that was all it had going for it. Our room was very old and had mold in the shower. When we asked to change rooms they simply didn't care, gave us three different rooms to try all which were worst then the last. And the staff just couldn't care less, unfortunately we couldn't find any other accommodation so we were forced to stay there. It really would have made all the difference if the staff had of shown any interest or any friendliness but their complete indifference truly made it a terrible stay...

This is one of the most baddest hotel experience that i had ever endured.
The hotel is old and really look run down. The complexity of the hotel is even look old and irrelevant in todays hotel scene.
The location of this hotel is also bad. Even though this hotel is located next to Holiday Villa Hotel, the neighbouring hotel is much much better in terms of everything including the usage of its big lawn.
The rooms is also quite bad and what can i describe about the toilet is even worse. The room that we get is the last room beside the stairway, and the toilet wash basin and the bidet and bathroom separator was in a state of shock to the system. They even use plain cloth to separate the bathroom to the toilet area.
But i save the best for last. The baddest thing of all regarding this hotel is its staff. They don't just being rude to guests, they also don't bother your mere existence in that hotel. If you're checking in with a spouse or girlfriend, they will stare to your wife with open jawed.
Guys, do yourself a favour and go anywhere else in langkawi beside this place.

The Lanai is located on a very quiet beach at the end of the tourist area. The rooms are very basic and small but clean. The pool is huge and with a bit of TLC it could be amazing . There is a dining area upstairs where we had breakfast each day. The variety of food lessened each day
as there were fewer guests, but was still ok.There was a little cafe on the beach in front of the hotel which was fine for a snack and plenty of restaurants in walking distance.

We stayed at the Lanai resort for the fourth time recently and again we enjoyed most of the experience. We were given the room we wanted and we appreciated this very much. We found the staff friendly but we did have a problem when we had some money and an ipod stolen from our room while we were at the pool. We felt we had a good idea as to who was responsible but we couldn't prove it and we thought management could have been a bit more proactive in dealing with the matter. This was an unfortunate ending to an otherwise good stay at Lanai. The resort is in a good position at the end of the nice beach but we enjoyed the pool the most. The accommodation is a bit dated but we thought it was OK as a 3 star. Breakfast was included as standard and not bad although it could of had a bit more variety. The surroundings are quiet and you can enjoy walking at night on the beach, no noise just the sound of breeze and waves. Wi-Fi was available at the lobby. We would recommend trips to the cable car and also the mangroves tour. Cafes and shopping are within comfortable walking distance. A trip around the island in a hire car can be achieved in one day easily.

Love the location & the pool. no room service, connectivity is good to both airport, restaurants and shopping areas. cant call my room a deluxe room, bathroom was cramped. Just about value for money.
