We spent 5 days at this lovely resort and stayed in one of their rainforest junior suites which was spacious and had a view of the ocean although partly hidden by trees . Before our visit we were slightly concerned about the mixed reviews on trip advisor but our fears were unfounded and everything about the place was first rate, with excellent service from lovely staff. There are five restaurants and we ate at the Chinese style, Hai Yan twice it was so good (try the roast duck) although the Beach Grill was disappointing. Our suite had everything you need and was centrally located do we didn’t always need the use of the golf buggies which shuttle you around the resort. The beach is small and man-made but is adequate for a short stroll and dip in the sea. There is an excellent adult only infinity pool.
The wild life including monkeys and hornbills are quite varied but not too intrusive and after all we were on the edge of the rain forest.
The resort is only a short (and cheap) taxi ride to Cenang which is where most restaurants and shops can be found .
There is plenty to see on the island and the Ritz Carlton was a great base for our visit.

We had a large group (11 people) made up of two families. With a restaurant closed for refurb and the end of rainy season closing certain areas during the day, the hotel initially struggled to cope with our drink and dining needs.
Nils and Sham came to the rescue and after the first 24hours our stay, enjoyment and comfort were positively transformed.
Basic rooms (these are not!) are awesome, with great vistas into the trees to watch morning and evening monkeys. The rooms layout were flexible with clever sliding screens to allow for a day or night time feel. We wishes we had taken a tour of the villas, maybe next time.
Quality and price of the food and drink were fabulous and fine for high end resort. Sham in particular amazed us with his attention to service and details at the Horizon bar and adult pool area.
Nils pulled out the stops ensuring our plans for the evenings were executed with aplomb, even allowing us sundowners with a fire on the beach!
On a constructive note, steps from the beach up to the Horizon bar and pool would complete the ability to walk around the resort.
Whilst the Chinese restaurant was a hidden gem, this would benefit from a more relaxed atmosphere, perhaps a lite lunch option and more generous special offers for dinner. The location and set up of this restaurant is fabulous but it’s just a shame it always felt quiet and empty.

I cannot daily this resort.
The check in process was seamless , the moment you arrive you are transported to a beautiful hidden jungle oasis, so private and gives you the feeling you are on holiday straight away regardless of the length of the flight you have taken to get here.
We were lucky to receive an early checkin and went straight to breakfast. The food is of the highest quality, the selection is exceptional and the setting is grand and brings the most of the jungle landscape in. Of note, there is high quality French champagne offered throughout the breakfast, the Malaysian offerings was of highest quality and the cafe style menu made to order is also worth a try, one of our favourites being the lobster omelette !
After breakfast the activities manager helped us plan our trip taking the time, effort and stress out of this process.
We booked a standard room but it is super spacious, with modern and tasteful finishings (we want to design our bathroom in line with this bathroom!) and so private you feel like there is no one around you.
The pools are beautiful, we loved the infinity adults only pool and the offerings of different complementary mock tails each day was a nice touch.
Service was above and beyond, all staff were professional and Always willing to ensure we were having a nice stay and experience of a lifetime. We enjoyed the managers welcome drinks, meeting the staff and sharing our experiences and were lucky enough to do a private dining on the beach which is highly recommended, another experience of a lifetime with as expected quality food and service.
Once we are able to travel, this resort is at the top of our return to list, although the price is on the higher end it is worth the extra money.

I have been to a lot hotels around the whole and i have to say that Ritz Carlton Langkawi is one of the best hotel that i have visited. My family enjoyed staying here and my daughter didn't want to go back home. She even suggested me and my wife to come back here again next week haha. Staff was very courteous and attentive to our needs. We initially booked for 2 nights in beach villa and 2 nights in grand ocean and was upgraded to ocean villa for 2 nights and 2 nights in grand ocean villa which was very of them. I have the privileged of checking out their rainforest king room which i think it is very nice and spacious during our transit for our late check out.
Anyway 1 of the night we had the in villa bbq which the food was superb. We didn't get to try the spa as the menu was very limited due to post covid 19. Everything was just so perfect there that this one of those hotel that you just don't need to leave the hotel area.
Just a small negative feeling i had through my stay there. I believe that the hotel was understaff maybe because of the covid19 but maybe that is just me.
To summarise i will definitely come here again and next time my wife has make me promise her to stay at the beach villa as my daughter really wants to play at the beach since the villa is exactly located few steps away from the beach.

After several stays in the past, we decided to return for a stay just before Christmas, and another stay over New Year.
The Ritz Carlton remain the best choice in Langkawi for many reasons!
We love the beach villa and its quirky design, pleasant living space, and large windows overlooking the beautiful nature and gardens… It was great to see that the beach villas had been refreshed and looked really stunning. The biggest improvement was the area around the pool which looked great, with much better finishing surrounding the actual pool. The amenities in the villa remain great – high quality bedding, high quality Asprey bath amenities, lovely tea and coffee selection… and a huge wine fridge used as “honor bar”. Everything has been thought with the guest in mind and wanting to create a luxurious and comfortable experience.
Having stayed in all of the top properties in Langkawi recently, I can certainly say that the Ritz Carlton has the best breakfast on offer. A lot of the hotels have downgraded the products and offer limited selections… The Ritz continues to offer a very creative and diverse high-quality breakfast, with free flow Champagne/Prosecco - a real Langkawi tradition!
The F&B offering is a definite highlight. There is a wide variety of options across three venues, each with a unique experience and cuisine. All the food we had was excellent, and the wine list is great and reasonably priced.
We also had a few special dinners. On New Year’s eve, we attended the Beach Grill’s event. It was incredible – wide selection of seafood and creative salads, fresh lobsters grilled on demand, beef rossini, etc. You could not have wished for anything more!
We also really enjoyed the in-villa BBQ. It provides a relaxed culinary experience, with staff setting up a lovely table on the pool deck and helping with the BBQ and service. It really felt very special!
What makes this hotel really special is its people! Most of the staff not only remembered our names from previous visits, but also remembered our preferences. I was amazed on the first day that they actually remembered our morning beverage order! It feels like all staff are super proud to work at Ritz Carlton Langkawi, and they are passionate about delivering the best experience possible! The leadership of the GM, Ellen, is very hands on, and it’s great to see her roaming around the property, helping at breakfast, and connecting with guests. It feels like Ellen is cultivating a culture of diversity and inclusion which means that staff can shine by being personal! I also like that the Management Team is always looking for feedback, in the spirit of continuous improvement and wanting to be the best hotel in Langkawi.
This is definitely one of my favorite hotels in the world and I would recommend it to anyone!

The Ritz Carlton Langkawi is without question one of the most amazing hotels and resort destinations in the world. The beauty of the property is rivaled only my the exceptional service and care provided my the entire staff. The staff and service was absolutely above anything we have ever experienced in any country. The moment we arrived at the airport we were taken in as family and that continued throughout our stay from morning to evening, from the staff at the each of the restaurants to the cleaning crew. Mr. Harris and Mia were the utmost hosts and displayed a unparalleled professionalism and courteous warm regard for all our needs and questions. The property is absolutely magical from the rooms to the villas to the beach. The restaurants on site are all five star, world class culinary destinations in and of themselves. We found it difficult to even force ourselves to leave the property for food much less explore the island. A stay here should be on everyone’s bucket list of places to visit and relax. I can’t say enough about the entire experience other than you’ll never want to leave and you’ll feel like family. And if you do go, go the extra distance and have the private beach dinner! It’s an experience of a lifetime.

We stayed at the Ritz Carlton Langkawi from the 10th of September until the 13th of September 2020 and it was our first visit to this resort. We stayed here as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) at the Rainforest Deluxe Queen Room which was luxuriously appointed and spacious with 2 large queen size beds, a full size sofa, 2 lounge chairs, a large balcony and a huge ensuite and bathroom.
They have buggy services 24/7 to take you anywhere in the resort and even right up to the car park located right outside the resort.
The resort is serene, private and luxurious and built in an undulating landscape right by the beach. The mature trees surrounding the resort clearly indicated that the resort was built to preserve the lush greenery which we truly appreciated.
Breakfast at the resort was really of high quality. Although the spread is not huge, it was carefully curated and offered really good quality and delicious food. We really enjoyed the lobster omelette, good variety of breads and fine pastries and the limitless Prosecco.
The service of their Ladies and Gentlemen were top notch. Warm, friendly and incredibly helpful. They took the trouble to remember our names (including our 2 kids), surprised us by setting up a children's tent in our room, brought books and toys for our kids to play with and even got our kids farewell gifts to remember them by. There was one incident when I had to return to our room after dinner at the resort without my husband (who booked a massage at the spa after dinner) and it was raining slightly. The stairs were wet and slippery and as I was helping my son walk up the stairs, my daughter walked up on her own, slipped and fell. She immediately started bawling and our buggy driver (Yusri, who also helped set up the tent for the kids earlier) immediately came to the rescue and carried my crying girl right up to our room while attempting to pacify her. I am so grateful to Yusri for his immediate and kind response which I know is not just something done out of service, but out of his kind and warm heart.
Special thanks to Yusri, Tengku and the other Ladies and Gentlemen of Ritz Carlton Langkawi who have made our stay here truly memorable. We will surely highly recommend this resort to our friends and family and we will return in the near future.
They have buggy services 24/7 to take you anywhere in the resort and even right up to the car park located right outside the resort.

We had a good stay. The resort is absolutely beautiful and the villa we stayed in was gorgeous and luxurious. During our stay, we particularly enjoyed the F&B which was diverse with healthy choices and ingredients that were fresh.
Service was unfortunately quite slow throughout our stay most probably linked to the high occupancy. It also lacked attention (overlooked email in preparation of the trip by the team) and at an occasion we were recommended by the concierge to a restaurant in town that was actually closed. The management were made aware of the incidents and took the time to explain. We appreciated.
Spa is quite spectacular too. A shame though that some items (bubbles and steam) were not working.
Once again, a good stay. But for the price paid, I would recommend the St Regis or Four Seasons if you need more attentive service.

We have recently returned from a stay at this resort and having stayed at a number of the luxury hotels on Langkawi, we can say that the Ritz Carlton has been the best of all. The whole team, from the GM to the Housekeeping staff went out of their way to welcome us, showing real pride in the resort as well as being attentive and anticipating our needs, often before we even realised them ourselves.
Starting at Horizon, what a wonderful location and a great concept for Ritz Carlton It is adults only, but for families there is another separate pool at the Beach Grill or the beach itself. We loved spending our days at the pool where the team looked after us very well, making sure we had our preferred seats each day and keeping us refreshed with drinks and nibbles. The evenings were lovely for us and we were able to enjoy the gorgeous sunsets whilst enjoying some competitive games of backgammon and delicious Thai cuisine.
The Langkawi Kitchen was fantastic for breakfast, but also for dinner on the days we went there. At breakfast there was an incredible breadth of choice, all of which was delicious and very fresh. If one wanted to go a la carte, there were some lovely choices, but our recommendation is to go with the buffet - fantastic!
The Activities team were great. My wife used the gym almost every day, often during the night and it was great to have this facility available 24/7. We both really enjoyed the Paddle boarding trips – it was a great way to start off our days and it was made even better by being able to see dolphins close up - what a privilege! This is a real boon for the resort and something we really enjoyed.
Our villa was fantastic. It gave us so much more flexibility during the course of the holiday if we wanted some privacy or were affected by jet lag during the night.We had one of the rainforest villas, but to be honest, we could see the ocean easily, so I don't feel disadvantaged. A feature of Langkawi resorts are the 4 legged visitors and the RC has an innovative way to deal with them, which will appeal to the children, both real and the young at heart. They didn't cause us any issues.
We met many of the hotel team during our stay, all of whom were unfailingly polite and always willing to assist us where required. The Ritz Carlton team should be very proud of their efforts. We had a wonderful vacation and will be returning to the resort, as soon as we can do so!!

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. We travel a lot & stay in 5* hotels around the world & this has been one of the very best. It is in a stunning location with it's own private beach and fantastic facilities such as the huge infinity pool, tennis court & hi-tec gym. We stayed in an ocean view villa and a beach view villa over 4 nights & each of the villas had their own private pool. The rooms were enormous, very luxurious & had huge bathrooms living areas & outdoor spaces.Asprey bathroom products, a perfectly stocked mini bar - which we used a lot - & Nespresso coffee machines which are very important to us!! The staff were amazing, friendly, helpful, polite & always smiling. We loved the buffet breakfast with lots of choice & a al carte options and we loved having champagne to start the day! We ate at all 4 restaurants at the hotel & had amazing food & service, except for 1 night at Hai Yan where the service was very slow & we left the restaurant before eating but apart from that the food an service was great. That said the restaurant manager sent us a hand written note the next day apologising for the slow service which we appreciated. We had spa treatments which were fabulous and in an amazing building over the sea. We used the gym and tennis court and the hotel arranged a hitting partner for me on several occasions. We absolutely loved this hotel and would highly recommend it and we hope to make a return visit very soon. Excellent all round.
