It was a major disappointment. I’m here with my colleague for a business trip. My colleague booked the hotel because it’s located in the vicinity of our work destination. Basically, he went into Google Map, zoomed out from our work site, and found this hotel being the closest hotel away. Upon searching it up, the price appeared to be reasonable (in the range of RM140 for a room for 2) and the hotel looks okay (based on the photos of the exterior and also based on the hotel’s representation in their website). Basically, at all material times, we were expecting a 3 star hotel - that’s how Google describes it, anyways. Upon arrival, the first view is that there is a convenience store right at the entrance - which makes it feel a little like a budget hotel. Reception counter of hotel looked old, not runned down, more like it’s the design of the 80s/90s. That’s no big deal. The lift was fine, the corridor to the room was fine. Upon opening the room door, the washroom was at my left - WHAT A HORROR! It was old - surely the design of 90s. No tiles but only cement floor with grey paint. There’s even nothing separating the shower and the toilet seat. Basically, when you shower, the water will flow pretty much through half of the washroom. That’s quite gross isn’t it. Hotel bed was decent like what you can fairly expect from a 2/3 star hotel. That being said, it’s extremely windy when I visited and the gust can be clearly heard through the balcony. Air conditioner does however make odd noises. At last, we couldn’t bear with the hotel - more like the washroom. We stayed the 1st night and shifted to Goldsand Hotel for the remaining 2 nights. All in all, the hotel is more like a high 2 star. The washroom design is rather fatal and kills off any interest so I wouldn’t rate it any more than 4/10. Needless to say, I’m unlikely gonna visit for business again. Family trips? Maybe. 11 - 12 December 2021 Greenish Hotel, Kuah, Langkawi, Kedah. MALAYSIA…
Just can't wrong with the hotel's location and room rates. Topped up with a hot breakfast will ample refills. Did not use the swim pool however the water were crystal clear. All the days enjoying an extended stay in Langkawi Island. The single room was super clean fitted with a really cold air cond, iron & board, mini fridge, flat TV, really hot shower, wardrobe. The carpeted floors did not smell funky at all. Met the super friendly Managers more then once. Kudos to the hotel team for a job well done. Novembers brings rain but more then often just plain humid. Located a stone's throw from established duty free shops & eateries. Took advantage of the travel bubble with no crowds really. Great to walk around but many shops still remain closed. Or on limited operating hours due to thin tourist crowds.…
A note to all the VIEWERS considering staying in a hotel for the foreseeable. Please be kind to the team members that you encounter during your stay! 🙏🏻 Due to disappearance of income for months, the hotel you are staying in probably cannot afford to bring many team members back from furlough. If you are asked to wait in the bar, with a complimentary drink when you arrive at the hotel because your room is not quite ready. Sit patiently in the bar, and please be assured the team are working as quickly as they can. Imagine if you had to clean 20+ bedrooms yourself and think how long it would take you and how you would be feeling after room number 10! 😩 Don’t be surprised if the receptionist, waiter, housekeeper that you come across, does not actually have that role in their job title. With limited staffing, the hotel becomes 1 team! So if the waiter isn’t familiar with what beers are on offer and has to check, don't sigh and roll your eyes! Say thank you...they are probably the HR Manager! 🙋🏼♀️ Your room may not be cleaned everyday, as they have a duty to protect the team and as you should all well know, the virus can survive on surfaces and in the air. So why would they want to send our team into a dangerous environment just so you can have your bed sheets tucked in! They can of course offer you a top up of any guest supplies! In fact, you can have as many tea bags and loo rolls as you like!!! And yes, you have single use cups in your room, because no, they don’t have time to run 400+ cups and mugs through the dishwasher on a daily basis. 🤔🤔😫😒 When you decide to dine in the hotel, the menu may be limited. Please consider that there is likely to only be 1 chef in the kitchen, on his own, running the whole operation...yes that includes washing up too! They are grateful you chose to dine with them, but please be considerate and don’t complain because there isn’t enough options on the menu and you wanted steak! 🥗🥣🌮🥪🍲🥘🌭 I am sure the rate you are paying for your room may be a considerable amount of money to you. But, be rest assured they are considerably cheaper than what you would usually pay. So please do not ask for a discount because the leisure facilities are closed. As above, the industry is already struggling for income without having to process refunds because you weren't impressed with sausage you had at breakfast because it tasted too piggy! 🐷👏🏻👏🏻 And lastly, it is highly likely the hotel is going through a redundancy and restructure process right now. It is a very sad time for the hospitality industry. So please be kind, it is a very stressful and upsetting time for the team. They work very hard and very long hours to ensure that you have a relaxing break! I could go on but I am sure you get the gist by now! Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy your next stay in a hotel 😊😊😉 *Copied from a friend* *additional note Some get to see their family their kids less than 15 mins average a day, before they fall asleep after loooong day at work and left early to work the next morning everyday. So be nice! The hotel is in good condition and located in a strategic place.Near to the jetty as well. But, the most important value here afe the friendly staff frm the reception, to the hostess and the owner. Thank you guys. and, be strong for this period that we are facing now. #kitajagakita #covid19…
The hotel is located closer to a mall with ample places to eat within walking distance. The staff is very Friendly and helpful. Awesome swimming pool. Each room has its own balcony. The balcony views are great too.
Stayed at Greenish for a week, after a stay in north Langkawi. The hotel is lovely. Great staff, polite and welcoming. Nice spacious room with (small) balcony. Cleaned every day, with fresh towels and plentiful supply of toiletries, including toothbrush and toothpaste. Coffee/tea and water daily too. Great pool, big clean and nicely maintained, pool towels available too....only had x4 sunbeds though ?? Although mainly Muslim guests who do not really use them, just the westerners! Garden nice, palm trees with coconuts (be careful where you sit) banana trees, and even a ‘resident’ Monitor Lizard !! Breakfast buffet style, some weird choices, but a freshly cooked egg station serving fried or omelette style. If you do not have a car it is quite a walk, but you can get to Eagle Square and to Duty Free shops. There is a local night market nearby, Wednesday and Saturday (mainly street food) There is also a small (x4) area of street food cafes that serve delicious and very cheap food...we ate at each one in turn and most ‘expensive’ bill was 21 ringette (5 to the £ !!) Only downside is location really, but cabs are cheap (no public transport in Langkawi) especially if you ask a local to book you a GrabCab, similar to Über and cheaper than regular taxi. …
Kuah town is near by from Hotel. Old hotel. Staffs very friendly. They given good advice to tourists. Breakfast must improve. A famous shopping Mall is Haji Ismail group near the hotel. Duty free goods available in this shopping complex. 100 meter only... Walking distance.
It's a hotel at a beautiful location... close to everything. Staff very friendly & helpful. Breakfast spread ok. Awesome swimming pool & surrounding. In general, truely a great value for the price you pay.. worth it!
Hotel is what we expected. This is a clean hotel in kuha. The hotel staff are friendly and welcoming. The hotel pool is cool and refreshing. We asked the staff for a cooler with some ice and within 30 mins it was there. We also asked if the bar could be opened and this was no problem. We thought that cause we were westerns that this could be a problem, but we have had no issues. The rooms in the hotel are basic but have everything we need. The only thing I would say as a negative is there is no shower screen / curtain so the bathroom get quite wet. If you are from Australia and we're worried about staying hear don't be.
Pro's Breakfast Breakfast was light but reasonable for the price. Menu change everyday Location Location is good. Just nearby HIG Mall but not walk-thru. You have to walk by the street around 5 minutes. Driving is better if you plan to shopping a lot Facilities Swimming pool is quite big but we'd couldn't enjoy so much. They open early and close late. So you can swim at any time you want Room Room is quite big and comfortable for two. Iron board and iron also provided. Con's Water pressure is quite slow. So the shower just as light as rain. The elevator is wet due to guest going for swimming and went up without dry-up their body / swimming attire. Maybe the management could set the rule for the guest who swimming at the swimming pool to dry up first before entering the elevator. Parking is a bit tricky, you have to come early or else maybe you have to double park.…
Location of hotel is close to shops, attractions, night market and seafood restaurants. Room is clean, although the bathroom floor needs some paints. Staff are friendly especially front desk staff. Breakfast is good, however some of the stuff on offer were cold
