My friends and I, 7 of us took the biggest room with 6 beds. Our check in was delayed to 430pm which was fine for us to check out the beach first. There are cheap restaurants around the hotels. It can be dark and quiet on the roads at night so be careful. The rooms was Big, Toilet is budget. The rooms are not sound proof so if we made noise our neighbors can hear us. This hotel is a decent budget place. The breakfast is meh.

We purchased Groupon package with snorkelling+kayak and selected family (2A2C) room.
1ST DAY TOUCH DOWN 7PM
Requested for Langkawi airport pick-up but no one there to pick us. Called the person in-charge of EkoMegah but was not informed by Hotel Bahagia personel (my email has confirmed). NEVERMIND we arranged the taxi ourselves at the counter. Arrive Hotel and was diverted to another block behind which is Bahagia Inn. So horrified with the dark location with 'transvestite' standing at the entrance staircase. Walk-up 2 floors - bedlinen only change when we step-into the room. Toilet floor trap was rusty and filthy. Bedlinen not 'crispy' smooth fresh. Immediately Called reception to change room at Hotel building and agree to top-up for bigger room (suite). The suite are spacious and nice.
Needed bath and relax in Jacuzzi but the pipe leaking hence had to use shower head to fill up the tub.
NEVERMIND informed Maintenance to fix but unable to do so. NEVERMIND.

2ND DAY
Morning left the room for good buffet breakfast in the hotel before proceed snorkeling.
Came back to room about 5pm.
Dust underneath sofa not clear. NEVERMIND informed Reception to arrange.
Needed bath and remove my contact lens.
This is what my limit went off!
They 'remove' my contact lens case!
I've shouted and pointed out my dissatisfaction - dirty room, jacuzzi not fix and now 'removing' guest belonging! This is just not acceptable!
I demanded for new lens case but they found my old ones but I refuse to take it back.
Instantly - all the mess was rectified!
At night when I need to brush teeth - only I found out another thing was missing - small toothpaste and toothbrush cover!
So better keep your stuff unless it need to be remove/thrown!

We booked 6 standard rooms last weekend for 3nights stay for my recent Langkawi Trip (23-26 Feb 2012).
Friendly reception. Bed was comfy & clean.
TV had few international channels. 2 mineral water provided.
Toilet was clean. Overall, this hotel is suitable for folks who are shoppers and
intend to have hotel to just shower & sleep.

Below review is only for the Sales Manager of Hotel, not for the staff.

I was on a vacation at Langkawi and staying in Hotel Bahagia. I purchased a package at MATTA fair to spent sometime in Langakawi . The decision to stay in hotel Bahagia was a big mistake. The person who calls himself as a Sales Manager, does't have any etiquette to how to behave with their customers. He is very rude and unfriendly. I had sent him my itinerary prior to my travel, wherein my check in and check out dates with flight details were clearly mentioned. On the day of check out our flight was at 22:20 hrs, however, this guy was forcing us to leave for the airport around 18:00, where as it was agreed with the staff of the hotel to drop us at airport around 20:30 hrs. When we were trying to explain him what was discussed and agreed with staff, he was in no mood to listen and started shouting on us and ask us to go self if we want to reach airport on agreed time.

located in town, its a budget hotel. staff is slow. wifi is only available at reception and not in rooms.
Worst part : my foreign currencies (sgd, usd, inr, thb)- cash from the in room locker (locked) and few clothes from the hand baggage which was not locked were stolen from the room while i was away during day. By the time i noticed things missing i had already left hotel and langkawi. I called up hotel and reported this theft. First reaction was denial then after long argument they agreed to check cctv footage and talk to management about it. They took all the contact details and told me they will get back. But they never did. no phone call no email nothing. Plus long arguments on international call was proving to be another expensive affair.

When we have arrived in February into this hotel, the room was really dirty. It looked that even bed sheets were not changed after previous guests as we found a few hairs in our beds. There was a dust and human hair on floor, remains of a tooth paste on bathroom walls, toilet deck was greasy. The fridge, safe box and phone were not working.
We have immediately asked for a new room but we were told that the hotel was fully booked so we needed to wait until our room was cleaned to minimum acceptable level.
Our towels have never been changed through whole of our visit.
I recommend to avoid this hotel as it looks their hygiene standards are not accepteble at all.
In case you go to Langkawi for holiday we I do not recommend to get an accommodation in Kuah as it is very far from any attractions and beaches. As there is no public transport on Langkawi you need to go everywhere by taxi which costs quite a lot of money. I recommend to find an accommodation close to Chenang Beach.

My daughter and I stayed at this Hotel early August 2010. I paid for a Deluxe room and was very surprised at the lack of space. My daughter and I had to climb over the bed to get past each other. I got a fridge that had its thermostat disabled and a toilet overflowing with faeces. I called and complained about the toilet and fridge the first night and nothing was done. I was given a bowl of ice that melted in an instant. The next morning I asked to be moved to another room and was told that all will be done while my daughter and I were out of the hotel. On return to the hotel from a tour I was told that all was fixed. Within a couple of hours of being in the same room I contacted reception and asked politely to move me to another room as the toilet was overflowing and the fridge was hot and if I didn't get the correct service I would find another hotel and check out.

To their credit they were quick to respond and moved me to the room next door. The concierge had the cheek to remind me to adjust the thermostat in the fridge to get it colder. The bar fridge was hot and the thermostat was disabled. Another night without something cool to drink.

The next morning I went to breakfast at 9.00 am and there was nothing replaced after previous guests had eaten. I asked for butter and was told there was no more. I asked for cereal and was told there was no more then I asked for fruit and was showed a platter with 2 pieces of watermelon. My daughter and I walked out in disgust.

On return at 12.50 to this hotel I walked into the restaurant and asked for a lunch menu. I was politely told that they do not serve lunch and so I pointed out to a group of people at a round table and said why were they eating? I was told that they don't serve lunch unless it's a group!

I walked out, caught a cab to another hotel, booked in, returned in same cab to Bahagia and checked out. There were no apologies what so ever and I aim to get a full refund from Agoda.

Do not consider this hotel for accommodation. I've warned you.

Staff is not well training and rude manners face to customer, even customers will be scolded by them... besides the room is very small and the standard room is provided single bed instead of super single bed... while the website is showed "super single bed" for standard room... it looked like intention to cheat as a customer. Besides, the breakfast is not taste good. So the overall, it is not worth for money as RM99 as a hotel rate which giving the motel standard.
