We absolutely loved this hotel and would return tomorrow if we could, we certainly didn’t experience the problems that some other reviewers have mentioned. Our suite was fantastic, very spacious and well positioned on the end of one of the wings. The breakfast service is incredible there truly is something for everyone no matter what your tastes are or where in the world you are from. The hotel sits in extensive grounds which include its own private beach and there are three pools all different to one another. The hotel has four locations to eat in, we loved the pool bar “Splash” and a number of times had food on its terrace overlooking the sea. We found prices in the hotel very reasonable and the quality was very good. The location of the hotel is stunning and it’s tucked nicely out of the way but not too far from Kuah. Perhaps the hotels biggest asset though its staff, from the moment we checked in, to the moment we checked out nothing was too much trouble. Every member of staff we met were so polite and helpful that it made our stay even more enjoyable. Special mention must go to Emmy (in seasonal tastes), Mizan (the concierge) and Hamisah ( our maid) for their exceptional service it was an absolute pleasure to meet them all.

We already miss Westin Langkawi... One of the best sunsets private beaches and sprawling grounds is found here. It starts with the warmth of the staff...a big thank you to Ariff, Ann , Chef Mahesh and the various front desk staffs, breakfast staff , pool staff , housekeeping staff , Spa staff and Kayuputi staff . Ariff's recommendation to have dinner in the fine dining restaurant Kayuputi which sits on stilts , was spot on. Everything was perfect , from the welcome , the deco, food presentation, delicious creations by homegrown chef and the spectacular sunset from the deck. We were blown away by the spread . Our favourite was the Scallops in incredible sauces . Definitely will be going there again. Impressive! The breakfast spread was unbelievable , with bubbbles and every conceivable item served generously by the professional smiling staff...eventhough they were fasting during this ramdhan month. A big shoutout to the best roti canai telur and Chef Mahesh's indian spread and his hot tosai. Yes we left a few kgs heavier ! The rooms were lovely, clean and the sleep very comfortable. Nature surrounding the resort is beautiful and we spotted Hornbills and Eagles and fluffy monkeys at the bridge connecting to St Regis. We were actually on a mission to scout for wedding locations for our daughter...looks like Westin is a strong contender. Ariff and Ann and their team have made our decision easy.

My wife and I had a massage and skin treatments at the Spa and found the whole experience very relaxing and just what our bodies needed after seven weeks travelling. The therapist’s (Yano & Dini) were so professional and provided a great experience for both of us.

Upon first impression, it’s a sprawling property with amazing views of the ocean and pools. The villas go way down paralleling the beach. There are monkeys in the nearby trees and hornbills to be found as well. The whole staff were very friendly. Since it’s classified as a resort, there’s no Executive Lounge, which is a shame. The rooms, while a little dated, had nice linens and good air conditioning controls. The buffet breakfast was one of the finest ever encountered ANYWHERE! There were so many cuisines represented, it pays to go there just to experience it at least once. We are Titanium members and travel all over the planet. This breakfast is tops and way ahead of even the bigger names as St. Regis and the Waldorf and others. Some of the negatives and the reason for 4 stars, is the following: The main pool is marvelous, but recent-looking work done on the pool floor is way below any decent standard. Tiles were replaced in 11 or 12 areas. They were grouted from someone whose work seems like a 10 year old playing with clay! The tiles themselves are a different color and finish. Black mold is already growing fiercely on the ugly application of bright white grout used in a most sloppy way. It tells me that they used one of the employees rather than a pro to replace them. In the room, the toothbrushes and slippers are also a big indication of the hotel being cheap in their spending. The toothbrushes are as hard as a rock and feel like they remove enamel like sandpaper! The slippers are as thin as they can possibly be. It’s only pennies more to choose the better quality amenities, and this property charges good money to be a guest there. The gym is a bit of a walk and isolated though you can take a golf cart (buggy) there and back. I saw a whole family of monkeys on the way there. It’s a nice gym and decent sauna (not on at the time). Lastly the beach there, and all around Langkowi are not great for swimming unfortunately. The water is not clear and jellyfish were everywhere! We walked almost each night along the beaches. Each night we’d see small and very large jellyfish washed up. On a boat trip to the mangroves, we passed hundreds of large jellyfish! Not dozens, but hundreds! That of course is not Westins fault. In summary, it should really get 4.5 stars but only whole numbers are allowed. Can’t go too far wrong, but the prices are top dollar so I can’t say that the value for the money is anything special. Howard S.

It feels longer than 3 weeks since we returned to a rainy and  dreary UK after our superb 21 night stay at the Westin.... We enjoyed every single minute of our "long stay" and would repeat it in a heartbeat (We will definitely return!) . From the moment we arrived at Reception we were greeted with such a welcome and smiles and this remained the case every day. Staff were very courteous and so friendly and helpful a big shout out to Azmi (Recreation Centre) and Arun (Director of Operations) on that score. We enjoyed the expanse of the resort and all the facilities it offered. Loved spending time on the beautiful beach interspersed with a dip in the infinity pool with its picture perfect view over the neighbouring islands. Friends and family back in the UK really thought we'd gone to paradise and were so envious  as we bombarded daily with our  photos! We even played squash..a  first for us in 30 degrees but we certainly worked up a sweat!.  The Yoga offering was first class and absolutely surpassed expectations with 4 sessions per week Sunrise, Sunset and Aqua ...it was a true wellness retreat experience especially hearing the waves lapping on shore and looking out over that vista whilst trying to perfect the tree pose!  A big thank you to Shinny (and Lim) for making me so welcome to their classes and helping me improve my flexibility. We last visited Langkwai in 1991 and after our fantastic stay at the Westin we certainly won't be leaving that long before we return to the island. Highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing, rejuvenating retreat with a wonderful Westin welcome and service.

This is an exclusive but also convenient property. Outside is the eagle plaza. Buffet breakfast is some of the most expansive in the world. It is worthwhile to mention that the Malay/Indoneisan specialty is particularly tasty. Room is a bit worn, honestly. It looks like a 20 or 30 years old hotel. But comfy and well illuminated. Walls and Ceilings are craved beautifully. Pool is spectacular. Setting is elegant and vibrant. It is like that you can put it on a postcard. Staff and hospitality is overall great. It is what you can expect from an upscale property. There is also some small activity in the lobby every afternoon, which is a nice touch.
