I had stayed to this wonderfull property in june 2019 with my friends as I am platinum member the hotel has upgraded me to sea front suit the room that offered is very big with bad room,living room and teris the room is outstanding and also hotel had upgraded my 3 more friends room from deluxe to premium sea view the hotel has made my stay very memorable

This was our second time to stay at the Westin. We had such a great experience the first time (Sept 2019) that we did not hesitate to book this place for NYE. I booked our stay using the hotel's website. A few weeks before our trip, I changed our room from a superior to a partial sea view. Upon checking in, we were told we were given an upgrade, but when we got to our room, it was what I had booked, a partial sea view. So we shrugged it off and proceeded to enjoy our stay (I received an email confirmation for this change but somehow it did not reflect in their system at the hotel). Our first night was most unpleasant, with the AC conking out. We endured a sleepless night without even the use of blankets (despite the ceiling fan turned on). The next day, I sent a message using the Bonvoy app to request for someone to check the AC, and this message was acknowledged. Nothing happened. We had another sleepless and unpleasant night... not a great way to start the new year. To make a long story short, we were moved twice and someone finally admitted that the AC of room 1314 was busted. A lot of time was wasted waiting for calls, packing, moving, unpacking. It was not the holiday we were expecting. We also noticed inconsistencies with the 3 rooms we occupied. Only one room had items in the refrigerator and snacks in the drawer. The shower in 1314 was defective (we also complained about that). Only one room had a proper working AC (1309). And the bed size for 2318 was like a downsized queen... much smaller and tighter than our queen size bed at home. There is no light switch for the balcony of 2318 so you will have no choice but to have some light coming through the curtains at night. We also did not have a bathtub in 2318 and it honestly felt like a handicap room. We spent all our time by the pool because the beach is really nothing great. And beware of sand flies... I was attacked by a few and these bites can get really bad. The pool and bar, the service... all perfect. That is really why we went back to Westin. However, despite all the problems, Westin did their best to make up for all the inconveniences. Mr. Kuvandran was very accommodating and apologetic. We are grateful for his attention. And yes, despite all the problems, we will always stay at the Westin Langkawi in the future... just not in room 1314!

My wife and I were very much looking forward to staying here having heard of the fantastic facilities and private beach, however were heavily let down with the hygiene of the very basic rooms(3 star standard) and general service. We stayed in the partial ocean view room. The view was very nice from the balcony but we quickly learned that the room had not been cleaned properly, especially in the toilet area where there were stains of urine found on the floor from previous guests which really smelt bad. We also found pubic hair on the bed. The tv boasts an advert where cleaning standards have improved during the pandemic but we saw no evidence of this in reality. Overall, the rooms are rather basic for the amount of money you have to spend. The hallways leading to the rooms feel they were designed in the 1970s. They are dark, narrow and have the smell of other guest’s food room service. You are also forced to push open several doors to get through these hallways which during current times feels unhygienic. Breakfast was very average for the amount of money spent which is in addition to the room charges. Bread items were stale. Service was poor. Lots of staff standing around looking out the windows being unattentive or taking away plates without replacing the cutlery so we constantly needed to ask for more sets if we wanted anything else. On the plus side, the beach is amazing and the swimming pools are great. However perhaps the problem is that people will come here anyway so the service has diminished over time. 5 star location, 2 star service, hygiene and experience. There are better hotels on the island.

Truly a Five Star experience. The rooms are amazing with all the modern amenities. The Sea View, the Heated Pool, the massiveness and beauty of the property are all worth thr money you spend. You may not even want to leave the property if you are here for a couple of days. The breakfast is world class with local and international selections. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful. You can really feel the warmth when they serve you. Room service and Spa are pretty expensive. The drive to the City center is about 45 mins.

Overall, I think it was of great value and even though I definitely did not have a "5*" experience, I think that most people had this experience because of the covid situation and in normal times I'm sure it would've been much better. I think Westin could improve by providing extra sanitization wipes in the rooms and providing them in areas of public use such as the desks in the "business center" to keep it clean and, try to arrange for a proper business center where it's quiet and clean.
