Detailed Reviews

Soluna Guest House was the ideal spot to spend a week in Langkawi, and I enjoyed my time there so much that I booked a return visit.
The hospitality was great - friendly but never intrusive, answered all my questions with patience, provided guidance on booking tours and ferries, and really accommodating when I needed to change plans and bookings due to being unwell.
The setting is lovely: a shared open kitchen and seating area around a green space with chickens and cats, and cows in the next door field. Rooms - spacious, airy, large bed, plenty of storage space - face the green and the a/c and fan keep things cool.
The kitchen has a filtered and hot water dispenser which is really handy, and is well equipped with cooking and dining ware.
There's a great view across to fields and hills and the sunrise is gorgeous.
Yes, there is noise from roosters and muezzin, and as a light sleeper I was awake a lot of the time. However, this beats city noise and would be a similar story in guest houses across Langkawi. Plus, you don't get noise from the street and other guesthouses, so there is a very peaceful, calming atmosphere all day and night.
The location is away from the main roads and a short walk to the beach and cafes. Shared bathroom facilities are cleaned regularly and everything was spick and span during my stay.
I'd highly recommend Soluna Guest House if you visit Langkawi.

Stayed here for four nights and we really really enjoyed it! The dorms as well as the private rooms are super clean and very comfortable. They have a kitchen so making your own food was an option. Something we’ve really missed as not many places we’ve come across had then. The only downside was reception doesn’t open until 9am. Which makes checking out in the mornings hard unless prearranged.

We had suspicions that the reviews about the guest house we're to good to be true. Happy to be wrong - the staff, location, vibe and all around experience is as good as everyone reviews say.
Couldn't be a better for what we wanted.

This is the perfect place!! The garden is amazing and an excellent to chill out can easily lay there all day. Close to the main Street but far enough to be quite at night and during the day. Nadia is the best receptionist ever! so freindly and always full of great recommendations for the Island! Can't wait to come back!

We booked one nights stay at another guest house when we first arrived in Langkawi to give us time to find somewhere longer term and luckily we stumbled upon a Soluna guest house flier in one of the travel agents on Cenang beach. We went later that day to have a look and were immediately impressed. We had been backpacking already for 3 months so a clean bed, nice bathroom were the main things we looked for as a minimum but basic was fine. It wasn't always easy to find this on a budget but as soon as we arrived at Soluna we thiught we had struck gold! we were greeted by a friendly face, Claudia, one of the co-owners, amongst a few kittens, cats, a couple of chickens, two cows and a calf in the neighbouring field and a few smiling local Malaysian faces too. The place has a really friendly feel about it and us set amidst some farmland owned by both the guest house and the surrounding locals. It's literally only a 3 minute walk down the path to Cenang beach and the amenities there but as you are on farmland, it gives a really beautiful rural feel. Very tranquil and relaxing. Claudia and her husband and also their friend Shah were really helpful, friendly and gave us tips on where ti eat cheaply, places to visit and so on. We booked for 2 nights and ended up staying 9! It was like home from home. We had an en-suite double room in a little cabana/chalet which was brand new. Clean and Cosey. We paid extra for air-com but all the chalets have fans too. The price for the room was perfect for budget accommodation at 65 ringats for an air-con en-suite. You can stay for less in the dorm if you are backpacking as a group or single which looks great and t the same standard too. I would definitely recommend this guest house to other backpackers and flash packers who are looking for budget accommodation on Cenang beach. We loved it! I should also mention Ida, their neighbouring mother of a Malaysian family. If you go to her house next door, she will cook you delicious Malaysian food for around 3-5 RM per meal! That was also the best food we had in Cenang. Ida is the Malay ladies name who was amazing also. She didnt speak English, we didnt speak Malay, but between us we made friends and ate the best food. An amazing stay and experience all round

I had have searched many home stay or guest house before I decided to stay with Soluna Guest House.
We all 7 pax as team vacation, 5 stay in dorm, other 2 are husband & wife stay a room.
What a surprise with reasonable price, we got clean room, air con, & fan.
Cozy bed, towel provided.
Nice & delicious ala carte western breakfast. Breakfast not included in room charge.
When we do a reservation via email, we got immediate response from Claudia, the owner, with detail explanation.
The location is perfect, just take few minutes to reach Cenang Beach, along the road with different shops or stalls, & Babylon.
Guest house provides warm & friendly service, the environment surrounding with coconut tress, rice garden, green & fresh air.
Such amazing heaven!
We sat at living room, chit chat thru the nights.
Frankly say, this is the guest house I strongly recommended, so far, I never found such place that so welcoming guest and treat us as true guest!
We're happy and enjoy during stayed with Claudia & MK.
Last but not least, there got many cats around, they're cute ;)
Please, don't hesitate to contact Soluna Guest House, you'll definitely love the environment.

Charming. Great price and clean rooms. In a very quiet and peaceful area only a five ish minute walk from the busy cenang beach, which is great. Privacy and convenience in one. Only problem is mosquitoes, but I would strongly recommend soluna for your stay on Langkawi.

A wonderful guest house which feels secluded, even though you are only five minutes from everything. Claudia was a great host and the room was clean, bright and homey. It's set a little back from the beach and feels very rural; you can sit and eat breakfast watching cows roaming and kittens playing - what more could you want?! We spent a very relaxing few nights here and could have stayed longer. We would stay here again and again. Email solunaguesthouse@gmail.com.

We stayed at Soluna's at the beginning of february, did 3 nights in their dorm(RM17 per person per night) and 3 nights in a private room with fan and shared bathroom(RM40 a night) and we had a great time there. It is only a 5 minute walk to the beach so you are close to everything but it's still quiet at night. The main area is a great place to just relax or have a drink with other travellers! The rooms are nice and clean and if there are any problems, the owners are never far away. It is quite full usually so if you do the walk-in you probably have to settle for a dorm, but they have aircon and nice beds so they are very good value for RM17! The best part about the guest house though is that little restaurant just behind it where you get the best food on the island and every dish is less than RM5! Overall we loved our stay at Soluna's and will gladly return there when we go back to Langkawi!

Soluna Guest House is such a wonderful little sanctuary only 5 minutes off of the Main Road in Langkawi. We were lucky to find it on google maps and only booked one night to try it out. Once we arrived we immediately extended our stay till our departure from Langkawi. There is a general feeling of peace and relaxation, the team is very nice and helps with scooter rentals and such. The rooms (we had a standard basic double with shared bathroom) are very clean, have a cute interior and make you feel at home.
Breakfast can be bought until 1pm and provided a great Müsli with yoghurt which made us Austrians super happy.
Ultimately this place has the most competitive prices we have come across during our entire stay in Malaysia.
I would recommend Soluna Guest House do any kind of traveller, from backpackers to couples and families alike.
Many thanks to the team for making our stay in Langkawi so terrificly pleasant!
