Walking distance to everything beach, restaurants, grocery and even the weekly farmers market. No going wrong here. Clean and comfortable and easy on the price too.
Good choices between private rooms with or without baths and a comfortable air conditioned dorm too. I stayed in all three types.

Soluna Guest House is heaven when it comes to guest houses. Got a couple of nights here in january, but ended up staying for my whole two weeks long visit. (Also decided to come back for a week in february) Both the private rooms and the dorm is really nice andwell cleaned, you get a towel without extra charge. The owner, Claudia, is an amazing woman. Always super nice, happy and helpful.

Definitely the place to stay at if you're in Langkawi, definitely price worthy, and if you want to get around, rental motorbikes are just a 15 min walk away.

All you hear at night are the wind chimes. And pretty much during the day too, surrounded by fields full of cows and birds. A total feeling of peace and serenity. Some would insist on being on the beach here in Cenang, but a relaxed walk on the grass through the trees to main street just takes a couple of minutes and provides just the right frame of mind. The place looks and feels new, spic and span. The room is spacious and a great value and for the budget traveler the dorms and share bathrooms can't be beat. The open air commons with hammocks and comfy sofas is a great hangout. The staff is very friendly and owner Claudia is a jewel. I could go on and on.

I stayed here for 3 nights a week ago and ended up asking to extend my stay because I loved it so much! Unfortunately there was no space, so I moved to another guest house nearby .... and even though the new place wasn't particularly bad (from a backpacking perspective at least..) I hated it, because it wasn't Soluna!

Soluna is a little rustic countryside paradise surrounded by palm trees and water buffalo yet is only a 5 minute walk from the main street and beach. The rooms are kept super clean and modern and whilst it is peaceful that's not to say you can't meet people - there's a great reception / common area with benches and hammocks. I met some great people there who I ended up spending the majority of my time on Langkawi with.

Claudia, the owner, as well as being lovely and friendly, clearly knows what she's doing and understands the importance of comfort and cleanliness - a sentiment not always shared by South-East Asian guest houses!

Soluna Guesthouse was rated as Tripadvisor Winner for the year 2015 and I personally think it is well deserving the Certificate of Excellence.

I stayed in Langkawi for 5 days; 2 days at another guesthouse and 3 days at this guesthouse; both time I sought the dormitory room. Compared with the first former guesthouse, I rated Soluna Guesthouse as the better option. My reasons are:-

Firstly, the charge is cheaper. The first guesthouse charged me RM22 while Soluna Guesthouse charged only RM 20 for the dormitory stay per night. Beside the cheaper RM2/- rate, the amenities and services are better.

Secondly, there is air-con provided at Soluna Guesthouse (from evening till next morning) despite staying in dormitory bed The first guesthouse that I stayed did not provide air-con for dormitory beds.

Thirdly, the perfect rustic style environment. Soluna Guesthouse is located right behind the Iaman Padi in a very rustic village (kampong) setting. There is a pondok (shelter) at the yard and it is perfectly windy to lie down here or rest and swing on the hammock that are pivoted between the wooden columns. From the pondok or the hammock, you can set your relaxing gaze at the many cows grazing in the big grass field in front of you. Near the wooden entrance of the guesthouse, you find few buffaloes lazily wagging their tails, sipping water from the little pools nearby and grazing on the lush grasses. The laid back kampong style scenery is further enhanced by the many coconut trees `dancing' gracefully in the wind. There is no other better place to view the crimson beautiful sunrise at this guesthouse as the morning sun slowly crept up from the distant hills. It is so beautiful a rustic setting surrounding the Soluna Guesthouse.

Fourthly, the lady Italian boss is so friendly and helpful. I was initially allotted the upper dormitory bed for the first night but she immediately changed me to the lower dormitory bed for the next two days when there were vacant beds.

All this extra thoughtfulness for my convenience was very kind of her. At my request, I can have hot water for free. There is also a fridge at the service counter for usage by the occupants. There is also free wifi.

Fifth, the location where the guesthouse is located is right in the heart of Pantai Cenang. Just outside along the main road is a Bunga Food Court that offer fried rice or fried noodles at RM2/- for breakfast. There are also a wide variety and range of eateries, restaurants and pubs along the main Cenang Road that cater to the different class of tourists here.

Sixth, the most touristy beach is at Cenang and is just within few minutes walking distance from the guesthouse.

Seventh, the cleanliness of the bunk and the guesthouse surrounding. The guesthouse is very new, clean and well-maintained. The cleanliness of the dormitory is well kept. The mattresses are clean and the room tidy. The toilet and bathroom are separated from the main dormitory and they are very well-kept with no stinky smell. I like the few cats roaming around the yard. Very cute, friendly and well fed cats.

If I were to be in Cenang again, I would definitely choose Soluna Guesthouse. It deserves the Certificate of Excellence bestowed by Tripadvisor and I strongly recommend this guesthouse.

Only 5 minutes walk to Cenang beach, made me and my friend like to stay in Soluna. And I love the kittens over there. There are few hammocks also, but I didn't try it. I stayed here with my friend and we enjoyed a lot. I knew this place from my friend as well.

i spent 10 great days, meeting travelers [some of them were recurrent guests]
the staff is very helpful and friendly. the location is 5 minute away from the beach, so it was great to come back 'home' to the relaxed garden after a whole day on the beach. Claudia's recommendations on where and what to eat were spot on. and for the solo travelers is was a great place to meet and hang out especially that it was like "bring your own booze' house gathering. the whole venue is well maintained, and the rooms very clean. and a great value-for money deal.

This is the perfect location for those who want to be close to the main street and beach, but also can reside in the peaceful setback green landscape of Langkawi.

Idyllic and picturesque setting, host speaks English and is very welcoming and there are a few other travellers pottering around.

Perfect for what we were looking for, great value for money at 60 RM a night.

I booked this place for my trip to Langkawi after reading so many positive reviews about it and I am glad I did.

This place is a gem in the haystack! It played a big part in making my stay more enjoyable. Located slightly further away from the hustling streets of Cenang, it gave me some quiet times during my visit to Langkawi.

Claudia and her team were very friendly and their services are top notch. The living area was homely and comfortable where I managed to exchange stories with some other travellers. Hammocks were a plus! My room (private bathroom) was clean, the air conditioner and heater worked perfectly fine.

This place also has the best spot to catch the sunrise (over a large rice field with some cows/buffalos), I definitely enjoyed the view from a hut in the garden area.

I highly recommend this place for its serenity and the team's friendliness, and will definitely go back one day!

"I stayed in the dorm for air con as I was traveling alone (on the advice of another traveler) and didn't want to pay for a whole room just for aircon. If you're traveling with a friend/partner, get the aircon room. It's worth the value."
