The best thing about it: ++ The nice rooms. Good: + prices are very fair! + Wifi included + very nice garden! + Claudia, the owner of the place, is a great host! + nice and clean rooms with good bed and everything you need.. in fact, at Soluna's we had the nicest room of our entire trip through Malaysia! + scooter rental directly at the guest house (good scooters with included insurance for good prices) Bad: - the street to the guest house is very sandy and hard to drive with a rental scooter. Especially at the gate of the guest house you should be very cautious in order to prevent falling over with the scooter. - the place is hard to find at first - at night the according paths to the place are also very dark without any street lamps or other significant lighting Summed…
This nice guest house, is located at walking distances from beach, restaurants and bars, but at the same time, is in a quiet place, where you don't live the influence of the traffic, loud music, and parties around. The rooms are humble but very clean and nice, with all the amenities you need to have a comfortable stay. Wi Fi works well, the staff speaks english, the garden and the reception are nice places to meet other travellers, have a coffee, socialise and chill out down in the hammock. There is a nice range of accommodation's choice, from dormitories to private rooms with air condition and private bathroom, with few others middle solutions. They can arrange tours and bike rentals and they are always kind and helpful. Good stay here
I have read some praise about the Soluna guest house in a travel blog before, so when I saw the sign on the main road, I was hooked. The minute I arrived, I knew that this will be our place. It has a relaxed atmosphere, it's clean, it's green, it's very nice. Claudia, the host and her stuff were very helpful and friendly. We planned to stay for 2 nights, we stayed 5. We have met nice people here — lot's of Germans. Very good value for not much money. Highly recommended.
We got to stay here for free because of my friend. We met some amazing people and party all night. You can play music and all. It has a very hipster vibe and it is relaxing. Close to the beach, maybe a 10 mins walk and close to food places as well.
IF you plan to experience the non-beach life... this is the place to be. The paddy field across the room is a wonderful sight to see.. perfect for calm and peace. Reasonably priced! recommended! The serve breakfast too.. if you have to pay for it. its optional of course.. Definitely a come back for me!
Stayed here with a friend for 2 nights. It's tucked away in a quiet secluded part area, away from the busier commercialised centre of langkawi so it's slightly cheaper than the hotels on the main strip. Beach is nearby wit a short walk away. Free wifi too. Overall good value for money.
Visited three or four different places, before settling on Soluna. Dorm was RM20 a night, which over 5 nights came to $25. Walking distance to town and the beach. Shortcut through the field makes the trip even better. Beds were clean and comfortable and the staff were as helpful as possible. They have good suggestions and were able to make taxi and trip arrangements. Also, if they couldn't do it they could give directions to someone else and some in several languages! We wanted to rent scoters, but the lady was very polite about explaining that the scoters on hand were more complicated and not as easy. She told us where to go in town and we had a lot of fun. Communal area is very comfortable and partly in the open, so when the breeze comes through you can enjoy it, but also a…
Soluna Guest House is heaven when it comes to guest houses. Got a couple of nights here in january, but ended up staying for my whole two weeks long visit. (Also decided to come back for a week in february) Both the private rooms and the dorm is really nice andwell cleaned, you get a towel without extra charge. The owner, Claudia, is an amazing woman. Always super nice, happy and helpful. Definitely the place to stay at if you're in Langkawi, definitely price worthy, and if you want to get around, rental motorbikes are just a 15 min walk away.
All you hear at night are the wind chimes. And pretty much during the day too, surrounded by fields full of cows and birds. A total feeling of peace and serenity. Some would insist on being on the beach here in Cenang, but a relaxed walk on the grass through the trees to main street just takes a couple of minutes and provides just the right frame of mind. The place looks and feels new, spic and span. The room is spacious and a great value and for the budget traveler the dorms and share bathrooms can't be beat. The open air commons with hammocks and comfy sofas is a great hangout. The staff is very friendly and owner Claudia is a jewel. I could go on and on.
We were little bit skeptical initially when we reached the place at night, but it turned out really nice as soon as we woke up in the morning. It's a very nice place surrounded by fields and very close to the beach (6-7mins away by walk). The staff are very nice. We have stayed in the standard rooms and they are worth the money. You feel like spending more time at the guest house than the beach. Must try!!!
