Detailed Reviews
We stayed in this hotel from the 30 Dec 2019 to the 2 Jan 2020.
Below are what we think :
Pros:
Buggy service was very prompt, good job.
Bed and pillow was comfortable.
Room was spacious.
View was spectacular as we had the chalet on water.
Cons:
Front office had no knowledge about what she is charging us for,
rm150 was suppose to be security deposit, not tourism tax, tourism tax only applies for non malaysians.
Room floor was dusty.
Bath tub had some wood debris in it, hence we didn't use it since day 1.
The room wasnt maintained that well as well as the building. We could see the chalet opposite us, the roof was peeling off and looking so old.
Dear Management,
You have a nice resort at a good spot, please mantained it well!

+1
This is my occasional short stays. This hotel is nicely decorated and the room itself is quite comfortable for couples who choose to stay for a few days. It has shower and a bathtub, a sofa bed, king size bed, microwave and a private balcony. There are a few types of Water chalet to choose from. The good ones are at the end facing the sea. Don’t worry about having to walk back to your room because you’ll be mesmerized by the view. And if you are too lazy to walk, you can always ask for the buggy service anytime.
Sadly though, this place looked seasoned. It needs maintenance and upkeep. The beach is muddy so Swimming here is not recommended. When low tide, you can see hopper fish and crabs all around. If you're lucky, you might even find sea cucumbers washed up to the beach. 😉

Hotel is quite far from town but not too far from airport.
I was staying at the stilts structure over the water so the experience is unique. Room is big with standalone pantry, a sitting area with windows, a balcony with table and chairs for a cuppa in the morning, a bathroom with separate shower and a tub.
It was very comfortable with all the available space.
The mobile signal is weak and there's no wifi in the room.
Sunrise and sunset are something to look forward to. Walking out and back through the wooden platform was comforting with a villagey feel to it and a great an unobstruct view all around.
Breakfast was to be serve to your room but you have to order it the day before. I did not order any though.

i must admit that their respond on our request during booking was so impressed until the day we arrived at resort. It is a bit frustrated when you are paying lots of money to enjoy the holiday & it ruined by having wrong choice to stay at the resort..
It started with the lobby area was not represent as the expensive hotel rate. It only equipped with normal fan.. then we went to the room, sadly to say that i couldn't believe that it is not well maintained..the resort maintenance is running down.. the next morning, we went for the breakfast & the food was late served, very few food varieties & it was so spicy so the next morning we opted not to have breakfast there..the pool was poorly maintained as again i did not believe that they do not care the cleanliness of changing room, it was so smelly with cat's poop & very dark with only lamp was function..
seriously i will not go there anymore

I've read the latest review here back to Aug'23. We take the chance and booked this hotel anyway because of the price. I do not see any guests for the 1.5 days we checked in. The next day only we saw a family of 3 checked in. And then we never see any other guests anymore. At night, the hotel area is dark and gloomy.
The room we stayed is spacious but the toilet is rather old. The toilet flush is not working on the 2nd day and the maintenance department came very quickly to fix which I am quite happy about. However the aircon is not cold at all even with the fan on. Towels looks very old too.
They served breakfast to your room. The breakfast is so-so.
Swimming pool looks okay but we didn't use it.
If I have another chance to choose, I will not choose this hotel though. I believed this hotel used to be a good one, just lack of maintenance. This hotel needs to be re-furbish.
Oh ya, some photos shown in the website may be misleading as there's another nicer hotel next to it which is Ombak Village.

Did a significant amount of research of research on the internet, and finally swung for Langkawi Lagoon despite a number of negative reviews. I booked what I thought was a decent deal for one of their 'Sea Village Suites', which essentially is a cottage on the water (2 levels, one suite per level).
I went in with high hopes with my fiancee, but unfortunately, the room was, bar none, the worst room I stayed in in the past ten years, and I do a lot of traveling in budget hotels.
1) The room was dirty; parts of the windows and curtains were extremely dusty, and my fiancee got hit in the face with a cloud of dust when she was searching for something in the corner of the curtains.
2) There is some sort of air-con freezer/motor/generator situated right outside the door. It was very, very loud. I can handle noise alright, but my fiancee is very sensitive to sound, and found it very difficult to fall asleep.
3) The room was very hot and humid. This normally would not be a big issue, as we could just turn on the AC, but:
4) The AC smelled like mold or mildew. It was very, very nasty. Clearly not cleaned.
5) The toilet was not working properly; it had that problem old toilets have where after it flushes, the mechanism doesn't work properly and it can't fill with water. We had to manually open up the toilet lid and adjust it to get it work properly. Twice.
6) The final straw was the discovery of two cockroaches in my suite. When I raised this issue with reception/management and asked for a different room, they said none were available, but offered to send in the cleaning crew to give it a thorough cleaning "to get rid of anything which is attracting the cockroaches", subtly suggesting that I was at fault. After waiting an hour, nobody came. This was the last straw; I cut short my intended stay and checked out. This is the first time I have ever gotten so fed up with a hotel that I actually cancelled my reservation early and left.
I really hope I just got a crappy room, but I have strong doubts. This is the first time that I have ever given a review of a room; I was upset enough to do so. I moved into a legitimate 4/5 star, and am posting the review from there. BUYER BEWARE!

Terrible terrible experience with this hotels. Worst hotels ever among many that i have stayed, and readers who intended to reserve please take note. I will list and share my experience:
1. They did not have one of my Villa suit ready when checking in at 5pm. The booking was not in their system and they did not give a reason when asked why, the receptionists and workers were very protective of themselves and refused to converse more. We waited till 6pm to get it, and NO apology or any sort of compensation was given, totally unprofessional.
2. The receptionists were inefficient and slow, and irresponsive. 4 people behind the desk and only one was doing work. When i called for service, one of them literally saw me and turn around and walk away. How about that from a hotel reception desk?
3. Welcome drink servant was so slowwww, we did not have our welcome drink after getting some of our keys. We have to sit in lobby and wait for it!
4. The kettle was spoilt, and the kitchen florescent light was not installed. They dont seem to have a maintenance list. We had to call for room service and waited 30 mins for someone to come over.
5. In swimming pool, when we asked for 3 towels (instead of the standard 2 towels) for our kid, the pool keeper named Saad gave a very bad attitude and rudely lectured me with his so-called rules. I was so pissed with his bad attitude that i threw back one of his towels. What's the big deal with an extra towel, why all the fuss? I had not even started with him on me getting our room late!
6. Guess what, even the room service ladies are bad too. We requested for another 2 bottles of drinking water the next day, the lady had 4 in her trolly. She reluctantly gave us one and lied to us that she had no more. If we want more we need to pay RM8 per bottle!! What a rip off, isn't it common for hotel room to supply 2 bottles of water each day? And yet it was drinking water, not even mineral water.
7. On the plus side, the food of buffet dinner and breakfast was good. The waitresses at buffet dinner were friendly, i am giving them the credits for that. But that's the only 10% positve of the whole trip, my trip was basically ruined by their overall terrible service.
8. Pricey at peak season. We had to pay USD200 for each room. I got myself 3 rooms at USD600 and decided that this was the biggest mistake of all time.
9. The room and facilities were old. Paints were peeling, no renovations, old rough woods. I can live with this if they provides good service, but they weren't, so this make the experience even more negative.
10. Beach were muddy and low tide all the time, don't expect to get a beach that you could swim.
And before you asked, no, i did not yell at them. In fact i tried to be nice to them. I noticed they seem to have better attitudes towards westerners, but that just goes to prove how bias they are in service against Asian or other guests.
My verdict? I agree with HumbleRyan's review, worst hotel ever. I strongly advise all guests to reconsider their booking with this hotel, there are many other hotels with better quality in Langkawi.

After reading the reviews posted before we travelled I was extremely worried that we had made a big mistake by booking the Langkawi Lagoon Resort especially as I had arranged the holiday for my husband, myself and four friends. However, from the moment we arrived we found the staff helpful and charming the rooms were clean and well maintained, the gardens, pool and beach area were well kept and very clean.
Although the menu was limited there were buffets each night serving some excellent food, the breakfast buffet was superb. It was nice to be able to sit outside on the terrace and eat rather than being inside. The hotels is located a short taxi ride away(taxis are very cheap) from many of the local sites of interest and very good restuarants.
We coud relax by the pool and beach or visit any of the recommended attractions, so all in all it was an excellent holiday.
It may not be a 5* hotel as advertised but realistically they are not charging 5* prices so was excellent value for money.
We all had a great holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Langkawi Lagoon Resort.

My husband & I stayed in Langkawii Lagoon Resort from Christmas till New Year 2006 & it was no doubt the best & most romantic place, quiet, cosy & very relaxing. The resort will meet the expectations of those who want to escape of busy, noisy urban life. If you seek hectic night life, it's not for you, but if you plan leisure & luxury holiday, choose Langkawii Lagoon, you're sure to enjoy yourselves utmost!
The junoir suite we stayed in is spacious & nicely decorated, including bathroom with a large bathtub for two & a showercabin, & still lots room to spare. Even the hillview is as fantastic as a sea one, even better 'cos you see the sea as well & have a luxury to admire the sunset over the mountains!
The food was nice too! We particularly enjoyed meals outside, far from freezing air-conditioned restaurants in KL which we terribly suffered.
The only thing we lacked was watersports in the hotel area, but there's another viewpoint to it. Nothing pollutes the beach: water & air, no noises whatssoever ( only a few kids. Some of the hotel staff don't spaek good English, but it's rather funny experience than a complaint.
The hotel is situated close to lots of attractions, so renting a hotel scooter you may explore all the places (watterfall, cable car, Oriental village, yacht club..., neighbouring resorts & beaches) by yourself any time, any day. We did! & even several times! It was really great!
As my husband tells (& he's a very experienced & demanding traveller) the holiday at Lankawii Lagoon resort is as good as on can get!

In regards to diving...if you want to scuba dive I couldnt find any Padi certified divers so we gave this a miss.
I am sorry, I just saw this message. Actually the properties are very much located at the same development however, they have at least 3 different management companies managing the units depending on the exact location. Additionally, some units are privately managed and leased out by agents or directly by owners, hence the difference in pricing and listings. Just choose base on good reviews, rating and value and you should be fine. Regards.
Yes it is. The room will b spacious for two. Enjoy your stay.
