First, I booked this hotel because of the reviews that were incredible considering the price. It also stated there was an outdoor pool and even had pictures of it. But there is no pool unless you book a pool suite that has a small private pool at triple the regular room rate. The pictures make it appear they have food available also but they do not. I offered to pay the difference and upgrade to a pool suite and was told it was not clean but I’d be notified when it was ready. I was not notified by the next day. I prepaid a 7 night nonrefundable stay but on arrival the girl in the office only showed 3 nights and wanted to know how I wanted to pay. I showed my confirmation and got that straightened out. When I get in the room, it’s pretty much what you’d normally expect at that price. There’s no remote for the TV and it had no picture but did have sound. They offered to have someone look at it the next day but I asked for another room. The next room had a small 12” flat screen that had a bad screen making the picture look like it had a glare. The electrical outlet is halfway up the wall with nowhere to lay any item you want to charge. The pluses are there’s a mini fridge and kettle. The shower has hot water. It’s very close to the Thursday night market. And walking distance to Cenang. I opted to leave after one night. It’s a 1-star or 2 at the best. The false photos have thankfully been removed after I contacted the site that I booked on.…

Loved it. The place is great for the short or long stay, personally, I stayed there for 7 nights and was sad to leave it. Located only 7-10 minutes from the beach in a quiet and safe area, which I, as a solo traveller, really appreciated. All the things you need - bars, cafes, shops, local food - are located really close to it, only 5 minutes away, but don't bring you any bother with the noise. The communication with hosts was smooth, the atmosphere was very cozy and family-like, I felt very comfortable. Highly recommend staying here.

It is very close to the beach/ main strip of restaurants and shops but it should be noted that it is located in a very rural type area- there were lots of animals (cats, bats, cows, bulls, chickens, frogs etc) roaming around and we had to buy ear plugs to block out the roosters. We don't expect an insect free stay anywhere in SEA but there were so many in the room: a field cricket in the bed, mosquitos everywhere, dead flies crushed into walls, and spiders/ cobwebs in every corner. However, if the animals/insects don't bother you then the staff were lovely, the proximity to the beach was great and it was quite cheap.

Stayed here for 4 nights in September, and I was fairly underwhelmed with the hotel overall. Greeted by a fairly muted woman who showed us to our room. The room itself is very basic. A bed, an incredibly pointless (probably 16 inch?) TV which didn’t work, small fridge and table and one chair. Plenty of dead bugs on the floor and smooshed in to the walls, and plenty of live ones too. The hotel is situated around 10ft from what I can describe as a small swamp? So expect plenty of bugs and frogs at your doorstep after dark. The WiFi wasn’t working the first day, and when it does work is sub par at best. Not ideal if you have no service abroad! The pros of this accommodation were a comfy bed, and location was quiet but only a 5 minute walk from restaurants and the beach. Also 2 minute walk from the night market which is at the top of the road every Thursday. Eat here handsomely for £3-£4 rather than going to a restaurant of here on a Thursday. I had a very pleasant stay at the Tokman Inn for 4 nights. Spacious bedroom with an en suite shower. Outside it had its own small patio area with a table and chairs. It was a little remote overlooking fields but this made it quiet and relaxing compared to the beach and town area that was a 10 minute walk away. Staff were friendly and helpful. They recommended the Mangrove tour which was an excellent choice. I had read about the breakfasts with local food and was a little disappointed to find a cafe serving only western food apart from noodles. On the second morning the young lady at the cafe told me she had only been opened 3 days and if the price and food was okay. I told her everything was good but it would be nice to have some local food on the menu. The next 2 mornings she had on display various local delicacies that I could help myself to and these were all included in the price of the normal breakfast. Couldn’t believe the lengths she had gone to after out conversation. She was probably the most helpful and delightful person that I met during my travels in Malaysia. …

The location isn't that great but the beach is only 10min away by walk. The room is pretty inexpensive, and with 2 beds, it's very spacious. The shower is way better than what we've known so far in Malaysia. The family running the place is very friendly and you won't have any problems with them. I recommend this place (2 nights for 140 RM).

Absolutely lovely couple is running the Tokmans Inn. The rooms are new - the bed is simple, but with such a comfortable inlay, that I could enjoy my first 10-hour-sleep in Langkawi. Tokman Inn is close enought to absolutely everything and far away enought to relax in the silence - just a 7min walk to the main beach. Mas and his wife Norhayati are doing an excellent job and received a lot of prices from tripadvisor and other rating agencies - and those prices they received because of their excellent and hard work - thanks again for our pleasant stay. We spent few days during Christmas period. The staff was so lovely and always available to help us and bring some ideas of place to visit. And the breakfast was really tasty and generous - a lot of pleasure and wonderful stay in a hotel which was 5 minutes walk from the beach 😍

We spent seven nights at the Tokman Inn over the Christmas period. We were very well looked after by Yati and Mas. We enjoyed rooms overlooking the courtyard for two nights and the remainder of our stay overlooking the nearby field. Both rooms were clean and comfortable with tea making facilities available. We enjoyed fresh fruit, Yati's daal with roti cenai for breakfast on several mornings. Toast and a selection of cakes were also available too. Yati arranged for us to hire a car for the day which allowed us to explore beaches and waterfalls that were easily reached within 30-40 minutes. The inn is close to a wide selection of restaurants and bars and Cenang beach is only a short 5 minute walk away. Thank you once again for looking after us so well during our stay. Damiano

This is a nice, homely budget option in Cenang area, only a 10/15 min drive from the airport. It is about 10 mins walk from the beach and busy main street of shops and restaurants, but in a quiet area surrounded by fields. The lady who runs it is lovely and very helpful. The rooms are fine. No frills but for the price, totally fine. The bed was comfortable and the shower was decent so can't complain. The breakfast was also good for 10RM, and there is a free water dispenser so you don't need to use endless plastic bottles. They have mopeds to rent (30RM per day) and it's a good location to set off and explore the rest of the beautiful island from. There is a cool bar / cafe 'Kasbah' next door which was perfect for dinner and drinks after a day exploring.
