Once a year, I would visit Kelantan with my family to meet with some relatives. Why I choose this hotel for like a 100th time in 3 points: - The food is good - The atmosphere and a vibe of an old-new kinda hotel -The bed, the sheets, a peaceful sleep
Had always wanted to stay here since I saw the old property being torn down. I was a houseman in HRPZ II and would pass by the hotel on the way to lunch or driving home. I subsequently transferred to another state but had a matter in KB so decided to book a night stay. Firstly, I am not sure if there are rooms with different bathroom designs - but whoever suggested putting in a bathtub in that tiny bathroom should be sent back to design school! and the bathtub rim is so high, how can a 65 year old makcik climb in and out of it? and the shower head was placed at such a distance that the measly shower curtain could not do anything to stop the torrent of water spilling all over the bathtub edges unto the floor. Now that I have gotten that out of the way -- Hotel itself is quite easy to find. Located in front of the hotel is an apartment building which has acceptable shops on the ground floor, should you need things at short notice. Parking was easy but I expect it can be tricky if the hotel is running at full occupancy. check in was ok - staff friendly and always had a smile on their faces. Room as acceptable - sans the bathroom (urgh) BUT, the saving grace of Perdana Hotel KB is definitely their breakfast spread!!! I would go through the hassle of climbing in and out of poorly placed bathtubs all day just for their breakfast. A week previously I had stayed at the 4* property in Klang Valley - and was thoroughly disappointed by their breakfast selection. they barely had proper proteins, instead they served highly processed meat like beef streaks and sausages. But here, hotel guests were so spoiled by the wonderful selection and quality. We were served nasi kerabu with all the condiments and 'ayam bakar', telur masin and 'ikan celup tepung' nasi dagang had all the required condiments of pickled veges and sambal kelapa and gulai ikan aya. and on top of that they also offered the usual western offering, congee and nasi lemak. there was even a counter of 'kuih melayu' which was good. and the CROISSANT! adoi, seriously, it would give the ones served at Renaissance KL a run for their money.... hot drinks could be obtained from ready made containers - there was even a staff there to 'tarik' your teh or coffee should you prefer! Love love this. the only small letdown was their laksa putih - despite the gravy being thick with fish, the rice noodles it self was a bit tough and chewy. and - the coffee machine for cappucino/latte was non functional but - again, small matter because KB has an abundance of coffee cafes. Sigh - get me a room with a better bathroom and I will gladly stay here again.....(still dreaming of the croissants. I had three!)…
The water pressure for shower is EXCELLENT! The room is alright for a night or two. Not exactly the cleanest, but I am very particular about cleanliness, but it is decent though I use my own towel. Great location, very good size room, and the food is great! I have stayed here a few times, and will definitely come back again whenever I am in Kota Bharu. I would say it is slightly pricey for Kota Bharu rate, but overall it is ok. Great pool and staffs are all extremely courteous and nice. It's a family friendly hotel, the walls are quite thin, request for a quieter room if traveling solo or couple. Ask for rooms without family or kids next or across from you.
Im Happy with the staff hotel! Their listening and understand what the guest needed! Love to stay here! Im enjoy with front office MR Amin whole check in and check out me with very fast and good experiences! Welldone bro! U r the best! What is important is their listen to u! Recommended! P/s this is my second time stayed in this hotel😍👍🏻
I visited KB to attend a friend’s wedding. I booked this hotel as it is said to be one of the best in town. To my disappointment, the room was very dingy and furnished very shabbily with old wooden furniture. The access to my room had damp carpets which smelt very musty, the bathroom had very old fixtures, my sink was blocked and water took ages to flow down. I asked housekeeping to sort this out but I don’t know what they did as it wasn’t resolved. Requested to change my room, equally bad experience. I don’t think I will ever come back to this hotel if I visit KB next.
I stayed here for the first time ever as an overnight sojourn while on my way to the Perhentian Islands in Terengganu, Malaysia. Malaysia Airlines had cancelled my morning flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Bahru on the day that I was supposed to catch a speedboat out to Perhentian, therefore I decided to fly to Kota Bahru a day earlier and spend 1 night here. And I have absolutely NO REGRETS WHATSOEVER, with my decision. Firstly, to inform all travelers who are not familiar with Kelantan, Malaysia, This state is a slightly more under-developed state in Malaysia, compared to Selangor, Johor, Penang, Perak, etc. And I was here during the Ramadan month in 2022, whereby most of the population are observing fasting from food and drinks during the daylight hours. Even though this review is for the Perdana Hotel, I must tell you a bit about the Kota Bahru airport. After I arrived at the airport at approximately 5.45pm, I was pleasantly surprised that they have a reliable taxi service to ferry visitors to their intended destinations at this hour during the Ramadan month. Important note: The taxi ride from the airport to the Perdana Hotel costs RM30 at the time of writing this review. The journey took approximately 20 minutes. Upon arriving at the hotel, the bell boy came to my taxi and helped me to load my luggage onto the hotel's trolley. And my check-in process was very smooth, the front desk personnel was very courteous. In Malaysia, most hotels and resorts request for a RM100 deposit per room at the time of checking in. This is like a security deposit, and will be fully refunded to the guest upon check-out if everything in the room is in order. The bell boy then helped me to bring my luggage up to my room. I was impressed that all the hotel staff are still serving their guests wholeheartedly even though the time of breaking fast for the day was drawing really close. I stayed in a standard room with a Queen sized bed. My room was clean and tidy, the bathroom was also adequate with a bathtub. The hotel provided 2 complimentary small bottles of mineral water, this is a standard provision by hotels above a certain category. My room also has a 36-inch flat screen TV with some local channels and a few cable TV channels. However, most of the cable TV channels had very poor connection, the only one which was fit for viewing was the Food Channel. The central air-conditioning was adequate for me. And the bed and pillows were really comfortable, I slept like a baby that night. The water pressure of the hot shower was very good. This hotel has a big Ramadan buffet banquet which is open to the public every evening during the Ramadan month. I was informed that they had sold out all their slots for dinner on the evening that I arrived here, so I decided to walk over to 7-Eleven, which is located right next door to the hotel, and buy some bread for my dinner. This hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Kota Bahru, I counted 2 convenience stores within walking distance from this hotel. The next morning, I had the buffet breakfast in the restaurant of this hotel. All rooms come with a complimentary breakfast here. The variety of food offered during the breakfast was very good, considering that the Ramadan month is usually a quiet period for tourism activities in Malaysia and especially in this state. There were only a handful of non-Muslim guests staying here during my visit. The breakfast food consisted of international selections like hashbrowns, chicken sausages, chicken ham, baked beans, scrambled eggs, and lots of Malaysian delicacies such as roti Canai(a flat tossed bread), mee soto ayam(a vermicilli noodle soup), nasi kerabu( a blue-dyed rice), ayam berempah(chicken cooked with spices), daging serunding(a spicy dry beef jerky), various curries, fried noodles, freshly-cut tropical fruits, western pastries like croissants, cinnamon rolls, buns and home-made bread. All-in-all, I was very impressed by the complimentary buffet breakfast! And the checking out process was as smooth as the check-in process, I received my RM100 refund without any problems. I had arranged for my resort in Perhentian to send someone to pick me up from this hotel and bring me to the Kuala Besut jetty in the morning, and when the driver arrived at the hotel, the front desk called me up in my room to inform me that my requested vehicle had arrived. This is indeed impeccable service! Kudos to all the staff of the Perdana Hotel in Kota Bahru, they exceeded my expectations! The next time I return to Kota Bahru, I would certainly stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel to all visitors who visit this part of Malaysia.…
I had a wonderful stay! Service was great, breakfast was good, and when I requested rubber mats for the bath tub, which they did not have, En Amin from Front Desk transferred me to a room with a shower stall AND a view overlooking the swimming pool! Front Desk staff and Housekeeping staff did an excellent job! However, parking remains a sore point ... as usual ... the parking lots are too tight even for a medium sized car.
I have stayed in this hotel long time ago. I would say the hotel amenities, the staff attentiveness, buffet breakfast at Cerana Coffee House were awesome. The premier pool room is big, the classic room is just nice, equipped with coffee making facilities and toiletries. This hotel is also nearby the Siti Khatijah market, bazaar, mosque and not far from the airport.
Very good hotel but aircond in old buidling is centralize so even we put lower temperature, it is still warm Buffet breakfast is a must. Many food were serve to customer. Different main dish food everyday.. nasi kerabu was good but beef salai is so tasteless
Whenever we are in KB, Perdana is our second home. Good breakfast spread, though there are ups & downs, Perdana is still top in the list. Its chinese restaurant, Jade, is one of the best restaurant that serves halal chinese food in KB. Thumbs up to Chef Eh Bao & his dedicated team. Ban Suan Fish, Mango Chicken, Mongolian Prawns, Deep Fried Crispy Oyster, Jelly Fin with crab meat...the best !
