On the way from Perhentian Island to Surat Thani, Thailand, my friends and I stayed in this hostel because it is very close to the bus station, only 2 minutes walk, which is very easy for us to catch the 6.45 am bus. The bedroom is dirty, bathroom is also not well, instead of a jet washer it use a plastic hose. As a transit place to stay for only one night, it's just ok.

Arrive in KB quite late and after knocking a few time the guy open the door.The rate was okay as we are very tired after a long journey.No towel or blanket was given.The room was big with noisy restaurant like fan.Since we are vety tired and need sleep we try our best to be happy with what we have.The bathroom was not well lighted and not very clean.Eventhough this place was well located but the clealiness is at a very low level.The place was not well kept.It is like staying in the 60's.If you arrive early,try finding another place.Cheap but not recommended.Nobody atthe counter when we c/out,so just leave the key and go.

I stayed in the KB backpackers Inn for the night before I left to go to the perhentian islands and stumbled on it by chance - its pretty much the first place you get to on leaving the bus station and would highly recommend the place! It's family run and they are very helpful with any questions, bookings or advice; in fact buy your boat ticket from them and they charge 60rm rather than 70rm. There is a 4 bed dorm costing 15rm or a double costs 28rm. There is a nice lounge to chill and meet other travellers and has free wifi, tea coffee and toast for breakfast, which is a nice touch. Khota bharu itself is a surprisingly nice town to spend a day or two.

you get what you pay for. For RM10 for a bed in a dorm. What do you expect. Central location. Easy walk to night market. Helpful staff. It's basic but ok for a night or two. Bit noisy as the road outside seems to be the main 'drag strip' at night.

Lovely staff and convenient location but it is filthy and some rooms don't have windows. Bad bathrooms don't help. I'd stay here again if I absolutely had to, nice people make anything more pleasant, but it was a dank and dirty place. I'd avoid Kota Bharu in general (night markets are not very interesting)...

Well, it is a backpacker spot, so expect backpacker rooms. Friendly staff, dirty bedsheets, dirty rooms, no privacy, but good location, cheap, and it offers you a shelter for a night. Fair enough so for low budget guyss it will be fine...I guess.

Stumbled across this place by chance... Lovely hostel, really kind and welcoming owners!! Best place to stay in Kota Bharu! Tea coffee and toast served all day (self service) couch and wide range of DVDs to watch!! 5 mins from by station and right in the middle of town! If you stay here.. Make sure it's the correct backpackers KB (there is an immitation directly opposite called KB backpackers Lodge).

an absolutely low budget option in the center of the city. the family is so nice and you really feel that you are a guest in their house. the rooms are as simple you can get but cleanliness is the you also get. we would definitely recommend this place!

Despite reviews stating a bad quality of service and comfort, I noticed things have been improved a lot from my last stay. The staff is really friendly and very helpful. Rates are low. I stayed in the dorm, 10 ringit/night! Some nights the street can be noisy, but not to the point of preventing me from sleeping. Free wifi working good in the living room and from the dorm as well. I stayed 1 week and enjoyed it.
