Not worth the money. We pay premium price for poor maintenance facility. Beddings are old. Cracking noise when the kids switches their position while sleeping. Bath is also poorly maintain. Shower flow are clogged with hard water. Even my kids peeing is much of the water compare to the shower. 😜😜 Pool is also not wellkept. Beaches are also not very nice to dip in with. (maybe due to the moonsoon season) Hotel surrounding also not well kept. Mosquitoes are bad. They have the game guy for security, poolkeeper, beach keeper and maintenance. Breakfast spead is terrible. Do not expect much of variety. Nasi lemak with small piece of eggs. And nasi bungkus/berlauk. Flys are all over the place.

Establishment needs a new leadership and investors. For a rundown hotel, the price is high and is misleading with the actual facts. Dont be fooled by the adverts, IG and facebook, they only show nice shots and pretty stuffs. Garden is untrimmed, cafeteria leaking everywhere, rubbish near the pool, algae growing in there too. While the staffs are trying their best to make it work, but the owners are either simply ignorant of the quality or have very low standards. Regretted paying RM900 for 2 rooms and get a lousy homestay standard. Wish i could get my money back and hope they will close down this embarassment. Anyways, it seems that the sea is slowly swallowing the beachfront area.

Hotel is located in a local Malay village; and I used this as a layover night before I went to Besut for my island trip. Nice Malay kampung house feel, and views of the islands are beautiful, however maintenance is quite bad. Rooms are decent, sheets are clean however not spotlessly clean- bathroom could do a good scrubbing and there are dust everywhere. Looks like the hotel needs a good scrubbing; and be affixed with Wi-Fi throughout the hotel; and have better access to food/ transport. Restaurant wasn’t open when I arrived and I could not get dinner; and neither could I get a grab car due to the remote location. I had to resort to Google to call restaurants nearby for SOS to get them to deliver food to me for dinner. There were no restaurants or stalls nearby for food either. Breakfast was a local small buffet variety of rice Nasi Lemak, some local snacks kuehs, and coffee tea. There was a nice swimming pool but was quite packed during my visit and some horses for a ride at the beach. Would only recommend here if you’d like a small seaside resort, and if you have your own transportation/contacts- or you’d like a quiet place to work/write a book/ relax/ etc.

Stayed for a night in Villa Matahari. Not sure if they're understaffed but the place was poorly maintained. Soap traces were all over the bathroom cubicle. We arrived late (after 3) but the room wasn't ready. It was hastily cleaned upon our arrival. The buffet was nothing to shout about. The best feature of the hotel is their beach - suitable for family outing. And their swimming pool too. They really need to up their game and ensure the place and landscape are well kept.

a very much rundown place. long past its prime time. the place was not properly cleaned. not properly mantained. broken furniture all around. they tried to clean the room (not really clean) but the hallway and verrandah is old and dusty. and the workers not properly trained. please, the beach is very beautiful. its a waste if the place left unattained.

Dirty..dusty..i can accept old but not dirty. Bathroom smells like old wet carpet. Bathtub not working...literally cant contain any water. No WIFI. We asked for password..given..we try to connect..no internet..ask for help at the reception..the lady simply said they cant help. I insist and she blame my device without even getting up from her chair. Kids pool - greenish water..cant see anything. Water was not flowing. Dirty. Infinity pool - another greenish part..and dark. Dare not to go in. Room was too dusty..asked for a broom..😅 and yes we got one after couple of hours.. Not coming here again...

Checked in at 10 am - by 10 30 we had to leave which can be rather difficult as no taxis available. Absolutely discussing resort. We arrived not expecting the Ritz as it is January and most places renovated, this resort did renovate - in the 70s I’m guessing and left it sitting as it is. We were not shown to our apartment just given key by a receptionist who didn’t speak English and just nodded when I asked directions so wandered around like an idiot dragging cases along a very dirty sandy beach. Then no water, complained, then there was water, brown water and was told “Brown water is still safe” The place is covered in stray cats & cat muck everywhere, and I mean EVERWHERE. It stank, we demanded refund to be told “no refunds” Then wanted a taxi to leave and told “No taxis around here” We reasoned with the manager and she seen our point and arranged for her driver to take us to another hotel .. THEN HELPED HERSELF TO RM40 ringetts for her efforts 😯 I wouldn’t mind but the room was on RM30 a night so we were mugged and had to pay again and when challenged she stood her ground. The Photos look amazing but believe me they are not. They are photoshopped. The beach is full of rubbish and not golden. Swim at your peril. No restaurant and when it’s dark that’s it, lights out as nothing to see or do and no taxis. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

The place is great. Spacious and simple but most importantly it is secluded so you don’t have to worry about safety. The place has its own entrance so you will enjoy privacy Breakfast was basic not too great but ok. You can have fresh fruits, cereal, omelette and coffee which should be enough Room was nice, spacious and classic with a wooden floor even in the bathroom. Bathtub was nice but it needs to be fixed in the ground. If you’re heavy or leaned on one side then it’ll tilt. The staff were friendly especially Balqis. All in all it was great experience and I would definitely stay there again!

Hotel & Location: We were recommended by few friends to stay here, as there were no other hotels around, as good. Our first impression were a bit off after looking at the photos of the rooms and lobby; online - TripAdvisor; but after staying there, we were really surprised; it turns out to be great and memorable. During check-in, we were given complimentary Breakfast for 2. Owned by a family, more to a small boutique resort, so do not expect too much or 5-stars treatment. A bit poor WIFI coverage all around hotel ground. No any nearby cafes or shops within walking-distance, so better prepare yourself on the way there. Staffs: Friendly & helpful owner and staffs. Great chat, and well-entertained by the owner especially during Dinner & Breakfast. She's always around. Room: We stayed in their Villa Meriam No. 5, the last villa at one end so it was really quiet and private. Really clean, fancy deco large room, comfy large bed, HOME! Bathroom; really huge bathroom with interesting bath tub / shower. Pool & Beach: Nice & deep (12-ft.) infinity pool + gazebos especially during sunrise & sunset, LOVE it!, but please avoid peak / school holiday season, as there will be too many malay families swimming wearing inappropriate attire, and super-noisy kids. Beach is okay, not so clear water & small wave. Restaurant: Simple breakfast buffet, limited choice + local Nasi Dagang. Ala-carte Dinner is quite tasty. Do try their noodles and burgers. You will find a huge cage full with turkeys and ducks at the back, interesting to watch. Cats are everywhere at the restaurant.
