Stayed in this guesthouse for almost ten days. Cheap, clean, simple, and a place that make u feel like home. The location of this hostel is just perfect, near to everything u need, market for food, supermarket, bus ststions, places of attraction, it is just in the middle of the city, everything is good here, very nice owner and staffs that treat u like a friend here. Located in the centre of KB make it so convenience for me to explore the city. The best thing is it so near to bus terminal and usually good place to rest before or after stays in Perhentian. Matt the owner was so humble and nice person show me around where to go in KB. The room was basic but yet comfy during my stay for two nights. The most important things is it suit your money for this kind of accommodation.

Happened to stay at Timur on route to the islands. whats great is they promote the local Malayan culture, and theres a good few days spent walking around and eating the delicious local cuisine and hearing the history. The owner Matt is a very friendly guy, easy going and very informative with giving travelling advice which from my experience is pretty rare! Its a clean well furnished hostel and theyve created a nice relaxing vibe. Has a homestay feel which is unique.

We met other travellers in KL who told us about Timur as we wanted to stay somewhere before Perhentian Islands. We got more than we expected. Matt the owner is very good host, as he travelled all over Malaysia and Thailand too. He gave us very good Thailand travelling tips - thankyou!

I literally used this guesthouse as a stopover to get to and from Perhentian islands. Mat, the owner, has a cool little setup there. Feels more like a cosy apartment than a hostel/guesthouse. It is actually his apartment so feels homely. Very laid back atmosphere and he has tons of movies for you to watch on his laptop. He's a really nice guy who relaxes with you and helps you book your trips to Perhentian and back. I could honestly have stayed there for a long time if Kota Bharu was more exciting! It is a nice beautiful city though, but for no more than a day or two. Definately recommend to stay and it's super cheap. Thanks Mat!

I've been traveling in S.E. Asia for 30 years and this guesthouse is - if not the best value is a very close second. Mat the young owner is a fund of information and will help save you money. I felt very comfortable there which is not always the case for a 70 year old so all in all very well done.

This is a great backpackers hostel and an ideal place to chill-out. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. Very close to city bus station and all the attractions. At night when there is nothing to do I was able to watch a movie with others. Coffee and tea were available all the time. I will stay here agin if I am in Kota Bharu.

As many others, this was a 1 night stop for me but I really wish I could stay longer, I felt I could relax there forever. The hostel a great value for money, good atmosphere, location, cleanliness, friendly staff and plenty of movies to watch. The city itself is amazing for any food lover or somebody who likes to interact with curious locals, I will make sure to come back!
