Detailed Reviews
I stayed here with a friend following a few days in the Perhentian islands. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Malaysia. Min's seems to be a combination of a farm, inn, and community gathering place. It is about a 20 minutes' drive from the center of Kota Bharu, but feels worlds away. We got a warm, enthusiastic reception when we arrived. The grounds are full of stingless bee hives/boxes, and the owner gave us a tour, opening up the boxes and pouring honey into our open palms. There is a also a lake with a dock, where Iman leads evening firefly-watching tours. Down the road is a beautiful mosque and a coffee shop where the locals sit, keen to practice their English on visitors. Min's is an ideal place (and, really, one of the only places we stayed at) to truly experience some local culture. (The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable.)

IF you are looking for a private, home-feel, relaxing place, here is your choice ^_^
MinHouse first founded by running Trigona Honey's business (yes, they have bees colonies around the area, but no worry, it's stingLESS)
Due to the frequent requests from KakYah (one of the owner - lady) friends, they decided to bring up a home-stay services.
with not more then 1 hectare's land, surrounded by plants and nature breeze.
it's totally a break for you from usual routine.
they have tour packages for you to bring you around Kelantan to explore the unknown culture which you hardly understand through reading.
one of the owner -- Iman (the 2nd son) is proactive~ haha! you may request what you want, and he will try to arrange to make it happen!
nice place, nice host, a nice trip for you =)
Cheers!!

It was my bad coz I set a high expectation based on the reviews written years back before the covid hit.
But still it was a good experience for my 3 year old son.
Please call before coming because they have to make few arrangements prior.
Entrance was free but each activities came with a fee, ended up paying rm 50 for 3 person. Activities were fun, spent total of 2 and a half hours here.
Place is bit far from the main road.
Apart from the friendly owner and staffs, there's so much room of improvement esp the cleanliness of the surroundings and more organised activities.

Me and two friends visited Min House Camp last November and would highly recommend it. Iman and his family were great hosts! We stayed in comfortable dorm-style accommodation with fan and AC (we were the only ones staying in that room so we had lots of space) - the room had 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a sitting area with table and chairs and a fridge.
We did several activities including the village walk and river cruise to collect clams - things we had never done before! We got to meet other people in the village and tried some great local food that we probably wouldn't have had travelling around on the usual backpacker route!
We were lucky enough to stay over one of the Muslim festival's Hari Raya and got to experience the traditional celebrations where many people from the village came to the camp to celebrate and eat together. This was really special and we were made for feel very welcome.
Don't forget to bring clothes suitable for wearing around a Muslim village - just longer shorts or skirt and t shirt that will cover your shoulders is fine for girls. Luckily we had these things with us !
Overall I would recommend this as a great experience for anyone travelling through Malaysia - it's like nothing I've ever done before and I won't forget it!

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way to the Perhentian Islands. We came straight from the airport, and the taxi driver had no problem finding it. The setting is lovely, surrounded by lush vegetation, a river flowing by, and an extensive garden. The people are a highlight, super friendly and hospitable hosts who are happy to give local advice and organise taxis, ferry tickets etc.
We enjoyed being shown around the extensive garden, learning about the bees and tasting their amazing 'sweet and sour' honey, and a short trip on the river in canoes (be prepared to get a bit wet!) to see the fireflies. We went for a walk through the nearby village, hoping to eat at the local cafe/restaurant, unfortunately, it was closed, so we stopped in at the noodle shack by the bridge for a great lunch, simple but tasty. On our way back from a walk, we had fresh coconut there and a chat with locals who were very welcoming.
We had breakfasts and dinner in the dining room at Min House Camp, and I enjoyed trying different local food.
The rooms are simply furnished, we had aircon and attached bathroom (some dorms don't), chair, tv, small fridge. Outside there are places to walk, sit, read, watch the river. This is a place to slow down, breath deeply and enjoy the setting and if that is what you are looking for you will love it. Min house camp also hosts large groups and conferences so while we had a very quiet day, by the evening there were two larger groups staying there. The only thing that marred our stay was a school camp who were there on our second night and were anything but peaceful through the night, so it could pay to check who else is sharing the complex with you! Other than that, we loved our stay.

I stayed only one night, as I was running out of time but I recommend everyone to stay at least 2 nights.
As soon as I arrived I joined a "Beer Tour", tasted different honey and learned some new stuff.
In the afternoon the staff took some other guests and me out for a really nice dinner and we were sharing a lot of traditional food- delicious!
I stayed in a dorm which is basic but absolutely fine. The bed was very comfortable and I had a great sleep!
The next morning they took me to the bus station and made sure I catch the right bus.
Everyone has been very friendly and I enjoyed this family like atmosphere there!

The Min house camp is a wonderful place to relax, learn about Malaysian culture, religion and villager life. But most important, it's a place where you can see what warmness and happiness means! Aiman is one of the greatest guys I have ever met. He and his family do everything to make you smile and happy.
Apart from great feeling they offer awesome food and activities like Kanu, karaoke,... It can't get boring there!
Aiman took me on a boat to see the fireflies.. Wow, that was incredible!
Everybody should go and visit the min house camp. You will love it! It's awesome!

Min House Camp is a great place to regenerate and experience an authentic Malay village surrounded by pure nature.
I was visiting the resort during the fasting month so it might be more lively when there are many ppl around.
Noriah and her family are the owners; they are running a restaurant besides of the resort and they have a stingless honeybee production where organic honey can be tested and bought.
The restaurant is located right next to a river where guests can enjoy a stunning view to the opposite island. You'll also see fireflys at night, especially if you take one of Min House Camp's kayaks and go for a night cruise.
I did practice dayli Yoga and Meditation on the terrace of the restaurant and it felt great. If someone is lacking energy or just wanna calm down from a busy life- or travel style that's the place I can recommend!
At the same time it's extremely suitable for families as there's much space for kids playing around. The 2 monkeys, the rabbits and many other surprises will fascinate old and young.
Thx for the stay Min House Camp ... it was a pleasure to get to know your little paradise :-)!

Do not stay here if you love animals! Going to Asia you expect to see things you'd rather not see, but this place promotes itself as a farm with one of the main attractions being the animals they have here: 5 rabbits with serious skin/mite conditions in a suspended wire cage, 2x4 foot with no food. A slow loris in a similar sized dirty cage with rotting fruit at the bottom. Monkeys tied up all day on their own. Bowls in cages were filthy and one fish tank was black with grime.
With regard to the rest of the camp the family who own the camp are lovely & friendly and there are always new local people visiting which makes for an interesting experience. The location on the river is very tranquil and seeing the fireflies at night was such a great experience. But my stay has been marred by the unfortunate pets and their preventable misery, hence the low score.

Response from ime h, Manager at Min House Camp
Responded 7 Jan 2017
Hye, thanks for review. I will try to make clear. For monkey, we agree that they were tied. This monkey is from the goverment, short tail monkey have high value for the baby cause people will traine them to pluck the coconut, so they will shoot down the mother and take the baby and also kill them to protext their orchard. To control this, goverment prepare a big cage to catch the mother and take away the baby and give to a several place to make them to be one year old and older and release it back so it cant be trained anymore. So we are one of the place to keep this animal for 7-9 months. We try our best to make better place while collecting money, we currently have big cage for them with helped by 4 visitors. Currently we have 6 monkeys. Its being to polical part, Kelantan is rules by opposition party, so they get less support from federal goverment and they cant run Kelantan Zoo anymore which was situated in Kuala Krai, 50km away. The rabbit is taken by us and was given used cooking oil to cure them. Same with slow lorris, its cant see due to eye sight problem, need a smaller cage to feed it. In the fish tank, is ikan keli in malay word ( snake head fish if not mistaken). They need to live in grime, that fish was catch from river nearby cause it used to be fresh water and now its salt water cause of they built larger sea opener. If there is any question, don't hesitate to contact us. Thanks for choosing us to stay.
