The hotel room i would rate as 3 and a half stars, good and comfy, and low occupancy. Room has a nice scenic view, quiet ambience to chillax, if that is your purpose to run from the city and bustling noise. Except there is no rug/carpet at tv area. Perhaps a comfy sofa to consider.
Pre ordered meals lunch was okay, some dinner menu was a bit of a disappointment (breakfast in particular) and some too pricey. Carbonara was too sour from the pickled capsicum. x’mas Roast chicken set was so-so. I was given a “soup” spoon for nasi lemak breakfast, after waiting for them to top up the cutleries.
Swimming pool - ok. Activities, not much, good thing there was a pool table, foosball table and some board games. Mini convenient store would be great to add, as there was no close-by shops to get snacks etc.

pros
extremely friendly staff.

allows outside food like grab but grab driver was shell shocked at the location
swimming pool is good but 2nd day they 'forgot' towels

cons
place
on a slope where its look dangerous to maneuver car. maybe a small car is idle but big car with family..a no no
a motel concept, besides hairdryer n towel no other amenities till I asked for toothbrush . toilet had shower cream but strong smell
has fridge n water provided from their dispenser

coffee anytime of the day but the creamer is sooooo old...

the food price n quality is a far cry;
over fried fish , rm48
lamp chop rm78 feels like the life was suck out of it.chewy n dry.
Good portion though

lastly 1 hour of black out, I can see the stress on the in charge face . He was trying to ensure we had some lights but why no generator? but how about safety when you can't even see your own fingers

before any1 judge me for being so harsh, this place is priced at 5 star price. They should look into alot of things to have that standard.

room has bathtub in the balcony..but absolutely no privacy even to change clothes. they have curtain from the toilet to Bathtub BUT from the main balcony can see bath tub .must change in the toilet

tv don't have any astro thus have to depend on their download and guess what..
most movies, media not supported

Stayed 2 nights at room name Anggerik. Bed full of bugs. Bitten with almost 30-40 bite marks.

Night duty staff is practically non existent and cafe totally closed. Cant even get water.

Meals are rather expensive and its impossible to drive out for meals

Stayed at Sembayu from 10-12 September at their “Luxury Room with Balcony”. Pleasant drive, about 90km from KL. Be careful though, on the last lap to the villa, as the road up was on a single-lane road. As mid-week occupancy was low, parking right in front of the lobby wasn’t an issue.

Room was good, but it was the balcony - the size and the view - that blew us away! Big enough for a hammock and a huge bathtub! Will try to load pics 😁 For travellers with young kids, bring your anti-bug repellants as the balcony was literally overlooking pristine secondary jungle; may not be an issue with adults but small children may get irritated with the bugs 🙈 Turn down the lights at night and watch the bats swoop in and out 😀

There was a small cafe that was adequate, serving decent breakfasts (English breakfast on D2 and nasi lemak on D3) but we didn’t try other meals as we did a spot of DIY hotpot on both nights.

Took a hike to Lata Berembum, a picturesque waterfall - total distance was about 2km from Sembayu to the trailhead and another 2km trail to the waterfall, before doubling back. Novice level, but the last stretch back to Sembayu was challenging, very very steep! Soaked and dozed in the huge bath tub after the hike, falling asleep with a view to die for!

Shoutout to the manager, Che Rosslee, who kindly shared a beautiful basket of fresh rambutans from his own orchard, delicious!

Overall, a very good experience with a peaceful stay, quiet and had opportunities to just be still to look and listen to the sights and sounds of nature. The quality and amenities in the rooms may not seem to commensurate with the price (paid RM1200+ per night for the room), but IMHO, I’d say the peace and tranquility was worth the cost 😀

I’m known to be a very particular person. I rate my trip to Sembayu Villa 5 stars. By paying more than RM1k a night, I didn’t expect to stay in a room with marble, gold deco and heated toilet seat. All I received was, attentive pre-arrival guidance, checking on my arrival time and giving me parking instruction. Then a superb natural scenery and a very clean/comfy room. Not to forget the big balcony with a bath tub overlooking the Mountain View. (Oh ya they allowed me to change to another room type but same category due to availability, without question asked.)

Roslee, the gentleman who is the receptionist/villa supervisor/butler/chef had shown one of the best hospitality that I had ever experienced. Friendly, polite, helpful and fast for all our request.

My first day on arrival I was giving the place a 4.8star, thinking there must be something not too good. That night itself, I had a very good shower, with strong pressure, good temperature control and and slept through 9.5 hours.

Next day, I had a good breakfast with a magnificent view. Hiked a bit at the hill, and explored the whole villa surroundings with Roslee’s help.

Then my rating became 5 stars.

PS: food is not a problem and insect is also not a problem when you choose an escape to an eco forest.

Don’t waste your money staying here. The prices are far too high for the low standards of the rooms, and overall service. The experience is far below expectations, and the lack of professionalism from the staff makes it even worse. Spend your money elsewhere—you’ll regret choosing this place.

Let me know if you’d like to add anything else!

Everything is Overly priced. For the room, if it’s anything more than rm 1.2k, room has nothing like a proper nice hotel / resort for the price. Furnitures, attention to details, everything was cheap furnishing. Food on the menu, rm 58 for Ayam penyet, rm 78 for iKan siakap, (knowing u r stucked in this area with no easy options for food access) rm 180 for decor where hotels of this room price gives towel swans folding decor for free. For the view and the room, is ok. But for the whole package experience, service is bad, customer service is also untrained.

The drive up to the villa is long and dangerous as the road is very winding, has sharp bends and very narrow only allowing one car to go through but the traffic is two way. Driving to this place could potentially damage your car so be warned. The place is overpriced and the food choices are very limited and also very expensive. Poor hospitality. The way the villas are situated is quite dangerous in view of the constant rainfall.

The place provided a nice scenic view, that’s about it. Really not worth the price paid, internet service was terrible, don’t even have a proper TV channel, food wise not only expensive but choices are limited, hardly any activity available. Even though staffs are few, but they are friendly.

Rude staff. Don't allow food delivery guy to stop for delivery. The road is so steps. Ask the delivery guy to go away. Resort high class but low class staff. It's raining day and the road is slippery too. Will never recommend anybody to go there.
