Was supposed to stay here for 2 nights but check out the next day when we found a better alternative nearby for our 2nd night.

(1) Old hotel (as per hotel reception, it is more than 10 y/o). Old furniture in the room. However we did notice the paint on the wall and ceiling are rather new.
(2) Bad drainage in bathroom - after shower, the whole floor area got wet and it took a while for the water to drain out and to dry out.
(3) Mould on some parts in the toilet and its door frame.
(4) Noisy - there is a coach operator just next to the hotel and as early as 6am, your can hear the noisy engine running from the buses.
(5) Limited TV channels.
(6) No internet services/wifi.

Despite the above the room is clean and the located in the midst of many choices of restaurants and shops.

I was traveling in a group of 5 so we booked a twin-sharing room at MYR148 and a triple-sharing at MYR168. We called the hotel direct line to make our bookings and made deposits via bank transfer. If you plan to call, ask for Miss Liew. She's very friendly and informative. Our sole purpose is photography adventure (taking photographs) so we only use the room for sleeping and bath - meaning most of the time we were not in our rooms.

They supply clean towel, soap and shower cap. If you need other toiletries, you can buy them at a mini-mart (200 meters uphill from the hotel entrance). They have two drinking glasses and a flask for hot water. HOWEVER, to get drinking water you have to go to the first floor(there are 4 floors in total) where there is a water dispenser. The water dispenser supplies both hot and cold water. There is no tea of coffee making facilities in the room. There is a 14 inch TV but you can only view two local government run stations - RTM1 and RTM2. There are NO elevators - ONLY STAIRS.

They don't provide breakfast but there are plenty of restaurants around the block (Fast food joint - KFC is opposite the hotel). There is a gas station near by (right next to KFC) The night market is a major attraction with local traders plying their trade right in front of the police station. Which is about 500 meters from the hotel. Personally I find it better to have my meals at KFC or the night market (for dinner) than the restaurants because the restaurants charge at exorbitant prices and far more expensive.

IF you happen to be there on a weekends / school holiday / public holiday - be prepared to see long queue of cars. Traffic jams are common during these times and tourist hot spots like the Boh Tea plantation and Kea Farm Market (right next to Equatorial Hotel) can be a grid lock. The very reason is because the entire road from Tapah to Blue Valley (Entire Cameron to be exact) is a two lane traffic while some smaller roads are single lanes! It's not big enough to accommodate such an influx of tourist. But the good thing is that the hotel staffs are aware of such problems during peak seasons, they don't mind if you checking out (or in) late. Just remember to inform them if you are stuck at traffic.

I stayed 2 nights in a room at the front of the hotel on the 4th floor. Even though the rooms are fairly noisy, they are comfortable and relatively large. Do note there is no breakfast (but local food right across from the entrance) and no elevator.

I booked this hotel based on the convincing photos Ive seen online. But unfortunately, my room is far from what's shown online. I must say, this is one of the worst 2-3 star hotel I've ever stayed.

I was hopeful at first during the check in but the moment the receptionist hand over a bag that contains the room cards and a TV remote control, I can't help but noticing the stains on the the bag. It looks like fungus (you can view my uploaded picture)

OK cool nevermind, but wow, when I enter the room, it felt like nobody cares. The wall, window, blinds are so dusty and dirty. Lizard droppings and unknown black spots can be seen on the window. There are cob webs at the windows too and yellow moist stains on the ceiling can be easily spotted.

Couldn't stand looking at the window so I tried lowering the blinds. But sadly, they are not working. You can't go all up, you can't control where you want it to stop. And the blinds are so dirty that it's a must to roll it back up.

Then I tried taking a nap. But my desire to sleep disappeared the moment I see dirty stains on the pillow, also the sheets. Didn't sleep well that night.

As expected, I can smell my boyfriend's poop when he is using the toilet, because the toilet IS IN THE ROOM. I almost lost it when I saw the glass bathroom is empty on top that allows smell to travel around the room. How uncomfortable and unhygienic!

Brinchang is one of the busiest part of Cameron Highlands and there are huge amount of tourists every month, so hotels are everywhere there. In my understanding, if you want to compete with other hotels, it's definitely necessary to keep track with the condition of the place that helps you to generate money - the room! The price is not that cheap too, I paid rm130 (incld tax)... I feel sorry for those who has stayed in the same room as mine, and I can't help to wonder how long was the last cleaning done in room 404.

Room 404, this is the scariest room I have ever stayed. Just my honest review.

This newly refurbished hotel has very friendly staff, eager to help, without a selling purpose. The location is perfect on the market square, without the noise you would expect. Just book this one if you are visiting the cameron highlands.
We have no info on the restaurant as it was in renovation at the time of our visit, but there are plenty of little chinese and indian restaurants around.

Our family booked 3 rooms for 1 night and all of us mentioned that we didn't had a good sleep the day before. Bed was stiff and early in the wee morning it was quite noisy. Other than conveniently located in town, I could not find other positive review for it.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Value for many, got a free upgrade from a twin to triple room. Staff may come across as unfriendly at first glance, however, if you have any queries, they are quite knowledgable and are willing to attend to your questions. Located in the heart of Brinchang Town, within walking distance to the big red strawberry farm and 5 minutes from the night market (available open on Friday & Saturday night). Many affordable eateries to choose from and a few massage joints are available too.

The hotel itself is basic but clean and comfortable. However, take note that there is no elevator for this hotel and I was given a room on the highest floor (4th floor), i don't mind climbing but it might be taxing for those travelling with children or elderly. Also, there's no phone in the room.

We visited Cameron Highlands in October 2013 for 3 days. I decided to stay in Brinchang as it is located nearer to many of the attractions compared to Tanah Rata. But once we reached, we figured out that Tanah Rata is just 2.5 KM away.
Anyway, I searched on TripAdvisor and selected Parkland Hotel as it was within my budget range and centrally located in Brinchang. We had requested for early check-in and when we reached, receptionist made the room available within 10 minutes although it was located on last (4th) floor (no lift). But we were fine with that as we would be spending lot of our time sight seeing.
Room itself was small with 1 double and 1 single bed. But it was clean and nicely done. Bathroom was small bud adequate. Towels were provided and had hot water available for shower. Tv had 5 channels but who wants to watch serious TV on vacation.
There are many eating places nearby (5 min walk). We ate three/four times in a Malay/Indian restaurant called Mamu Rasul. He served Roti Prata, hot/cold drinks and basic meals. There are few other Soup Bowl places around too. Food court in front of the hotel was very dirty when we visited and never went there again. But I could see many locals visiting that place day and night. A big convenience store and a clinic are located next to hotel, which was great.
Hotel also has a cab point just in front from where we could hire cab to any attraction in CH. Big Red Strawberry Farm is 10 minutes walk and is the best in CH. It allows you to pick your own strawberries at RM 25/half kg. They have a nice restaurant as well.
All and all it was a good location and choice if you don't mind walking up and down 4 floors.
Would recommend this place for budget conscious and travellers who would do lot of sight seeing.

Booked the room via Groupon with a discount. Location is strategic and nearby to restaurants, clinic, pharmacy and shops. Walking distance to night market. Room and bathroom were clean. Newly refurbished hotel. Each floor has water dispenser (cold and hot). Parking is limited especially during weekends. No elevators in this hotel so you have to climb up using the staircase. Overall, we had a good stay in this hotel.
