My family and I recently went there for a short stay. My parents chose foot massage and I chose foot massage. They successfully persuaded us to take combined foot and body massage which according to them is more worthy. When it came to body massage they used the so called Rose essence oil to massage us and claimed that this oil has extra function like improve the blood circulation etc. We agreed to the use of this oil and after they started to put the oil then only they said the oil would have to be extra charged. We feel being conned as this type of massage oil normally is included in the package. In addition the quality of massage they provide is very poor, and they will only keep asking you to add more package but the service is poor.

The hotel is at Brinchang and it is near to the pasar malam. If you wish to go to Tanah Rata, you can go by teksi and it just cost RM10 from Brinchang to Tanah Rata. When i step into my room, the carpet of the toilet is very wet and inside the toilet don't have towel. We have to ask the reception to give us. I think the housekeeping forget to put while cleaning. The steamboat is very nice. The vegetable is sweet. That was my first time that i had so many vegetables for my meal. I enjoy the steamboat there. The bad thing is the breakfast buffet. They just have few choices of the food to choose and the papaya is not fresh. But overall the hotel is consider ok.

Upon arrival at hotel:
They are located in Brinchang town, along the main road connecting Tanah Rata and Brinchang, adjacent to Iris House Hotel and along the way to the famous Chinese temple of Cameron Highlands. Their normal check in time is 3pm. As I checked in at 1230hrs on 17/Apr/2011, there was a Hindu temple community event taking place just beside both ends of the hotel. My first hunch was “oh gosh, maybe I should try checking into another hotel”, but the adventurer in me screamed that I should give this hotel a shot.

The hotel reception was friendly and the hotel lobby was cosy, but spartan in both décor and ambience. Check-in was a breeze and it is speedy by any hotel standards. I was pleased when I received the keys to my room and the relevant breakfast and dinner vouchers in a matter of minutes.

Safety and security was rather lacking in this hotel, but not apparent when compared to other hotels in their class. The door to my room had only a single door knob lock. They had no security team/staff randomly checking and verifying the authenticity of their guests. I was of the impression that just about anybody could walk into the hotel and have immediate access to the rooms via their elevator/lift. Those are just my thoughts and nothing untoward happened during my stay. They have sufficient CCTV cameras watching guest movements along and through common areas like hallways, lifts, and stairways. There are four (4) levels of the hotel, excluding a basement level, and it houses approximately 100 or so rooms.

Upon arrival at room:
Their family room was spacious by my standards and was approximately 44 sq metres. Cleanliness was good, but my mom with sensitive skin complained somewhat about the cleanliness of her bed sheets and comforter. My dad who shared her bed did not report such a discomfort.

The family room was fairly comfortable as they included four single seater sofas and a coffee table for your reading or leisurely pleasure. There was a ceiling fan and this proved to be a nice addition to the room. From my frequent visits to Cameron Highlands, there are very few hotels who feel the need to install a ceiling fan to ventilate the room during warmer spells. There was no refrigerator or mini-bar, but the room had an electronic safe. A baby cot was promptly delivered to our room upon request.

As all the family rooms in this hotel faced the main road, we adjusted and tweaked our expectations on quietness somewhat. I would say the traffic noise generated from the main road will not be a hassle for heavy sleepers, but I’m inclined to believe that light sleepers will find it irritating. You should request for family rooms in higher levels to alleviate this problem to some extent. The music from the Hindu temple community event drowned all of the traffic sound from the main road. My wife and mom couldn’t sleep much. Loud music of the karaoke kind continued till about 3am in the morning and it drove my wife nuts. We had all our windows shut, but as they were not double glazed, the noise dampening property of the windows was almost non-existent.

There were plenty of windows, so many I lost count as I was allocated a room at the corner of the building. The other family rooms located in the intermediate units had slightly less windows compared to corner units. In room working space was impressive and would definitely please the average family or occupants used to large spaces. Selections of TV channels were fairly satisfactory. They had a sports channel (ESPN), a movie channel (Star Movies), and some local TV channels like RTM 1, RTM2, TV3, etc. The family room included a bathroom that contained a shower and wash basin and a toilet that had a WC. The bathroom is separated from the toilet and while this may be a welcome feature for some, as it allows more than one of the occupants of these rooms to utilize either the shower or the toilet simultaneously, conservatives will find it difficult to accept that the wash basin is located in a separate enclosure compared to having both the shower, wash basin and toilet in the same enclosure. There was a liquid soap dispenser and a shampoo dispenser as well, which is such a much appreciated fixture here. Kindly note that this hotel does not provide you with a laundry bag, toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap, sewing kit or other bathroom freebies. Room maintenance was good as all the lighting fixtures were working and there were no leaks in our room. The quality of workmanship in the room was very respectable and very comparable to other hotels in higher price ranges. The quality of fixtures installed did no justice at all to quality of workmanship and did no way complement the quality of workmanship.

Upon arrival at hotel restaurant:
Hotel’s restaurant was located at the basement level. There was no ambience, so to speak. Food selection for breakfast was of sufficient variety. Food quality was quite good, definitely up to par compared with other hotels in their price range. Food presentation, however, was mediocre. Staff working at the restaurant was not attentive, to say the least. They could not be bothered to clear off your plates or cutlery once done and were much more interested in conversing amongst themselves. The chefs made regular appearances at the restaurant during meal times to assess the diners’ preferences and this was a pleasant gesture.

Overall satisfaction with hotel
I made a last minute booking of this hotel’s family (quad sharing) room for two (2) nights from 17/Apr/2011 to 19/Apr/2011 based on the largely positive reviews here. I wouldn’t say I was delighted with my choice but I wouldn’t be so hasty as to say that my brief stay here was bad either. My experience was mostly neutral.

Overall service provided by hotel
I was somewhat disappointed that the hotel staff made no acknowledgment or apologies on the incessant loud noise generated by the nearby community event and offered to change us to a room further away from the noise. We booked at the eleventh hour and they could have mentioned this to us during our telephone booking. My wife and mom did not have sufficient rest in the night and we decided to check out into another hotel with the hopes of catching up on precious sleep.

How likely would I return?
I might return to this hotel in the future as they offer very competitive room rates. It is a shame my first visit was wrecked by the noise from its surroundings.

Would you recommend?
This is one of the better hotels in their price range, offering basic no-frills and clean rooms for short stays that would most certainly delight the budget conscious traveler or travelers looking to spend very minimum time frolicking in their hotel rooms.

I had been in Cameron Highlands several times for holidays and on 27/10/2011 I bring my parents going to Cameron Highlands again for holidays. Unbelieveable the room are soon big (1 King - 2 person sleep + 2 Single Bed) and a lot space to relax in the room. The rooms are very clean and quite. 2 day steamboat dinner but we decided on 1st day we take Steambaot dinner and 2nd day we request to change to Set Dinner. Then I proceed to Reception counter and ask there staff can we request to change our Steambaot dinner to Set Dinner, immediately one of the staff said yes you can change to Set Dinner without additional price. Sad to leave because the services given by the staff is excellent from check in to check out. I will return to stay this hotel, Hotel Titiwangsa.

Check in on the 10 June 2014 - 11 June 2014(1 night Only).

Check in with a group. We got 5 Rooms(Standard Room). All on 3rd Floor.
My room Bed was too soft. Can feel the spring poking out of it. Went down to ask for a room change. Seems to have abit of communication with the staff at the front desk. But they did offer to change my room. There is no air condition or fan in the room, as the weather there was not really cooling when i was there the room was abit stuffy but things get better into the night. There is no mini fridge in the room( Not everyone need it). The water heater is not really working so we have to the a cold shower.
The window can be open but i find it dangerous as i have 2 young children travelling with me, and they place a chair beside the window so we have to move the chair to another side of the room. The room is not clean I would say very dirty, this is 1 of the hotel that we would rather stay out then to go back and rest. There is a "Getai" at the back lane so it is very noisy at night and can't get the kids to go to bed. Check with the rest about their room I think I'm lucky to have a room with noise room, lousy bed, poor water heater and dirty room.. They found little cockroaches in the room.
You will love steamboat buffet if you are a veggie lover. The breakfast was ok to fill you up to start your day.
I would not recommend this hotel to Families with young kids and for those who can afford to stay in a better hotel.
For me, I will Never Ever return to stay in this hotel if i were to go back to Cameron Higlands.

Stayed in this hotel last week 7-8 Sept(1 nite). My overall and general feedback about this hotel as below:

Cleanliness – bedsheets, blanket, pillow case were not cleanly maintained. It has many spots on it and not at all clean. I woke up with itchiness on my body due to the non-clean sheets.

Room - Very noisy. Could easily hear the sound of ppl waking of ppl who are staying on top floor.

Facility – water heater in the bathroom does not even has single drop of hot water. Although, adjusted the heater volume to the max but no hot water at all. I had to take a cool shower during the cool weather. This is not at all worth for the money that we paid for the stay.

Wi-Fi – The hotel mentioned in-room free wifi but found it out later that it’s only limited for 10 users for the entire hotel. first come first serve basis wifi service and its only for 10 rooms. Might as well, the hotel should make the WiFi available for all rooms or remove it from all rooms rather than playing this gimmick to attract customers to your hotel.

Bfast/Dinner : The awful smell of bfast/dinner area does not make anyone to have a meal there. I would not like to comment about this further as I jst cant stand the non-cleanliness of their environment.

Overall: As a customer, I will not return to this hotel anymore as it doesn’t meet any basic expectation of a customer for the amount of money especially the cleanliness.

From
Dissapointed customer

I booked this hotel due to the good review but it did not meet my expectation. I am not a fussy person and always give good review to the hotels that i have stayed. This is the only one that failed me.

The recept: Most of them can't speak English and I am a Singaporean, thus can't speak Malay, we were like a chicken and a duck.

Housekeeping: We request for a baby cot but they gave a spoilt one. The minute I put my son into the baby cot, it collapsed and my son fell straight to the floor inside the baby cot. Luckily he was not hurt, i turned the baby cot upside down and saw that the pole that was supporting the board below was missing. How can they gave us a broken baby cot? The second baby cot they gave us was also spoilt. We decided not to have a baby cot in the end.

Room: walls was stained, one of the towels are greyish in colour, furniture are old, water heater was COLD even after technician came. I checked with my friends in another room, their heater was COLD too. There was no fan in the room and the windows are very low and can be opened very wide. Unlike Genting hotel where the windows can only be opened few inches wide to prevent fall. So when you stay there, you either close the window, bear with the stuffiness if you want to prevent mosquitos and your child from falling down accidentally OR open the window for fresh air and bear with the mosquitoes and risk of your child falling down. We chose to close the window instead and bear the stuffiness while my friends opened the windows and the next morning, her baby's face was full of mosquitoes bite.

Food: breakfast is ok but the steamboat is horrible. Each pax is given 2 small prawns, 2 fishballs, 2 small pcs of egg toufu and plain toufu, 2 slices of fish, 2 yong tau fu and 2 or 3 other cheap items with 2 pcs each. However the vegetables are free flow. I think it is not worth for RM14.00 for my child.

I had a wonderful meal with drinks for the whole family of 4 at only RM19.50 in a restuarnt outside the hotel in Brinchang (3 mins walk from the hotel only).

Location: It is in Brinchang town, walk around 15-20mins to the night market and food/shopping. It is the last hotel at the end of Brinchang town.

Oh ya, middle of the night i can hear people dragging the furniture and early morning around 7am, i can hear drilling. I called and asked them and was told that they are doing renovation at the 4th level. Faint............. renovation at such hours when guests are resting??????????????

My apologise for giving such a bad review. But to be fair, I have to say is not the staff fault, they have tried their best.

I get the family room 204.
Since this hotel located just beside the main road in Brincang, then we can hear the sound of car and motor passing by the whole night with hons and ambulance siren... too lound and cannot have a good night sleep.
Moreover, the sound proof of the room is very bad, we can hear clearly people walking in the hall way and also from upstairs. It was really too noise and annoying...
In addition the ceiling of the bathroom was leaking during my stay
About cleanliness, this hotel has very old furniture, the bed linen is old with yellow stains floor is dirty.
Really seems over rated. Not Confortable at all!

I stayed for one night in a family room for 4 adults and was surprised to find the room to be extremely spacious. Its huge enough to accommodate 7 - 8 persons. The room is equipped with tea/coffee facilities, toilet, shower room, sofa set and television but with limited channels. Overall we're satisfied with our stay in this hotel especially the fabulous steamboat dinner that came with the hotel package. It was a hot and hearty meal which warmed our tummy in the cold weather. Cons - Shabby furnishings and rooms overlooking the main road are quite noisy

We joined Vacation Hub travel agency from JB and they arranged us to check in to this terribly lousy Budget hotel! I would rate 0 if available.
We are a family of 3. They assigned us a triple single bed G217 located at another block with a dedicated entrance door (there is only 4 rooms in that area @ Ground floor). Very creepy and dim walkway. When we open the room door, what welcomes us was strong smoke smell. I thought family room should be non-smoking? All the corners are dusty, bedsheets are yellowish, you can’t imagine when we try to push one of the single bed to connect bed, what will be observed under the bed &””$@:-(
After a Long haul overnight coach, we try to let ourselves to have a warm shower. However, water heater looks really old, rusted and dangerous. I turned to the maximum level but the water wasn’t hot at all! No choice, we bear the coldness to finish our shower. But what worse is the water stopped to flow.. the drainage was blocked!!! Yucky!!! Means you can see all the cold dirty bubbly oily water all around your feet :(
As the room was at the another block so it can’t detect any wifi signal provided by hotel.
I feedbacked this to my tour guide and hope that she will report this to the hotel management and requested for a room change.
What we received was totally unpleasant. Hotel staff denied all and blamed that I spoilt the heater?! What the hell! Their attitude was really sucks, negative, never helpful at all! It was like all is ur fault and now room all fully occupied we can’t exchange and it is not our fault! The Malay lady in pink and red named Nora is the most garang one.
Disappointed hotel, staff and also the tour guide. Totally ruin my Chinese New Year holiday! I have never experienced such trouble and anger for a hotel stay! Regret to the max!!!!!!
In the end, did I get the room exchanged? Of coz, NOPE!
Beware! Don’t come here to find trouble for yourself if you do not wish to ruin your Cameron Highland holiday.
