Dear readers, Just drop a few words after we were staying at Copthorne Hotel for 5d4n at 10th floor ( March 2023 ). This is 2nd time we are staying here., Although the hotel is a bit old but so far is ok for us. Hotel staffs were good, polite & helpful. Some ppl commented there was haunted but so far it was ok. Nothing happen, very peaceful & we slept till morning. So it's depends. Maybe ghosts scare of us...haha. So i will rated this Hotel 4 stars ( very good ). from : Mr D

Staff was flexible to change our booking for room with twin beds to room with king size bed. There were many table-tops for us to put our stuff (such as camera with charges, mobile phones with chargers, medicine, files, writing material, etc). Sink had much space for putting toiletries, etc. Downside: Slow check in, only 1 pillow per person. No hand towel. Shower wetted floor outside shower area because of wide opening and tiled barrier did not slope inward. Breakfast was satisfactory.

The room prices of the hotel are not justified. The hotel is very dirty. The linens are not clean, the walls/corridors are not maintained. Staff is not able to understand English. Difficult to communicate. The chef at the restaurant can make you some good dishes on your request. Having said that on a weekend its too crowded, you don't get a space to toast the bread, people are not waiting in queue. Seems like the crowd were not courteous to each other. It was like people were given free food!

Check-in: 14/09/2022 Check out: 15/09/2022 We booked an hour before check-in. Location - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The location is pretty strategic, and it is near famous landmarks such as Cameron Highlands Butterfly Garden, Time Tunnel Museum, Cameron Lavender, etc. It takes less than 3 kilometers to reach those landmarks. There are also Vegetable Market, Raju’s Hill Strawberry Farms, and EQ Strawberry Farm near the hotel. Parking - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We first parked our car inside the hotel building near the back entrance of the lobby. Then we needed to re-park the car at the apartment we were staying in because our room was not in the same hotel building; instead, it was at an apartment behind the hotel building. The parking is totally free and precisely in front of our apartment building. Check-in ⭐️⭐️⭐️ We arrived at 2:30 pm, 30 minutes early for the check-in. As for the check-in process, we need to take the number from the machine number (mainly used at our local bank) and wait for our number to be shown on the screen for check-in. Friendly greetings from the staff. The staff told us to wait until 3:00 pm to go to our room as the room was being cleaned. They will call us when our room is ready. At precisely 3:00 pm, the staff called us saying that our room was ready and we had to go to the front desk and take the number like the first time we did and wait for our number. Then they gave us the key and directions to our apartment via a small mini-map. Room - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We were given two bedrooms apartment type with two bathrooms, a vast living room, a tidy kitchen, and a massive balcony with a beautiful view. There is no air conditioning in the apartment despite the cold weather in Cameron Highlands. We received one queen bed in the main bedroom and two single beds in the other bedroom. The mattress is quite comfy, the pillows are soft, and the blankets are thick and cozy. There is no TV in both bedrooms as there is only one TV in the living room. I like how the sockets are near the beds, and there is free wifi. We received bottles of mineral water, 3 in 1 instant coffee, a few bags of tea, and an electric kettle. They provide an iron with an iron board and one electric stand fan in the living room. Services - ⭐️ There is no hotel porter to help us with our luggage. It’s pretty tiring to carry on a lot of baggage by stairs by ourselves. After about 30 minutes, we arrived at our apartment, and the staff rang the bells to clean up fallen leaves on the balcony. We found it quite unprepared for the cleaner to clean up the balcony just now since we were just arrived after 4 hour drive and needed some rest. The next day, the apartment ran out of water and didn’t bother to call us. Instead, we were the ones who called them to tell them about the water issue, and they said to us that the staff on site was on their way to send water to every apartment since that occurred to every apartment. Bathroom - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Both bathrooms are clean and tidy. There is a water heater. The apartment provides basic toiletries such as shampoo, body gel, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, and shower caps for each of us. They also offer clean towels. Facilities - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ No elevator is provided, and we must use the staircase to climb up to our apartment on the second floor. It's a bit inconvenient for customers with disability. There is also a spa, swimming pool, restaurants, and playground. Check out - ⭐️⭐️⭐️ We check out at around 10:00. The process is relatively fast. Just return the card key, and we’re good to go. Overall - ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Worth the price. They must improve on customers with disabilities and be more prepared for the unexpected. The apartment we stayed in is suitable for big family members as for the vast space for a single apartment.

It’s the worst place I have ever stayed in. I booked a 2 bedroom unit. I had to get maintenance to change 4 light bulbs upon checking in. A fifth bulb had the lamp holder burned out and could not be changed. One room cabinet door was missing. Another door was hanging on its railing ready to fall off. The TV only has a few local malay language channels. The toilet was permanently wet as a pipe was leaking. The general cleanliness of the unit was questionable as it was dusty at various spots. There’s a flyer in the room that says you have to call for room cleaning service and it’s a challenge getting someone to answer the phone. They still use Covid as an excuse why room cleaning is not offered unless you call for it. Also the cleaners don’t change the towels. You need to call another number for that! So a substantial part of the stay was spent waiting for the staff to come around to get things done. I would strongly urge anyone to avoid the hotel. It’s a shame that Copthorne dares to put it’s name on this hotel.

Quite a rundown hotel. Small swimming pool. Front desk seldom manned. After service is terrible. Our last stay, my daughter misplaced her sweater in the room. Tried to call back to ask for courier service to be sent to the next hotel of our stay, staffs kept pushing from one dept to another dept. phone call hard to get thru. In the end, my sweater unable to get back within our stay in malaysia. Totally disappointed in the hotel way of handling issue.

This is the hotel experience will make you say it out loud “THIS WILL BE OUR FIRST AND LAST”. It was supposed to be a pleasant trip after a whole year working non stop. We were looking forward to the whole trip. Hotel - once you arrive at the lobby, you'll feel like you're in a government hospital or a post office as you have to take a number and queue to check in. Hotel experience at this point already out of the window. Hotel environment - hotel corridor old and full of stains. Room condition - Basic amenities were incomplete even upon our request (we requested twice on the same night!!) No housekeeping was done during our 2-night stay. Most ceiling is peeling off, no hand towel, floor mat/towel, toothbrushes, no basic stationery. Transportation: The whole trip was revolved around us looking for transport to move about. No public transport/grab/maxim/shuttle were available around the area. Only trusted taxi drivers the only choice that we have, even that too, we had to depend on the availability of their schedule. And they WILL charge you expensively. Plus the driver that we had was quite rude to us. He criticised our choice of tour (which already been booked) said that our choice was terrible, and keep talking about it during our whole journey to the hotel. But we literally had no choice and we were desperate for a transport, have to use the same driver again eventhou we requested for another driver.

I would like to lodge a formal complaint against Copthorn Hotel at Cameron Highlands. I can understand slow or poor service given covid situation and your sprawling ground. But I cannot understand no service when money has been paid. You are not doing hotel business at all. - place is not cleaned daily - nobody offers bell service for our luggage - bed is not made daily - 2 toilets but one bar soap only - 2 pillows for 2 adults one child. And only one blanket - no daily provision of water - no towels provided. Only one tooth brush provided - calls for housekeeping and reception often not picked up - no laundry service Your hotel sucks. You have no sincerity of running a basic hotel service. Please refund me.
