Hotel's Favourite
A delightful and cozy stay at the Lakehouse Cameron Highlands. Greeted with a warm welcome of cozy hot towel and welcome drink with a greeted smile at the reception. We stayed here for 3 memorable nights and 4 days at the 14th & 15th Room. This cozy hotel were well kept of its authentic Colonial British style design with its warm ambience of its room furniture and comfort bed reminds of those days in the European hotel design.
We are warmly welcome by Param and its crews. All our tours we organised well and amazingly arranged by Param; many thanks and grateful for such amazing hospitaity.
The hotel buffets breakfast is amazingly set up with choice of 7 varieties from, Lakehouse Big Breakfast; Scramble Eggs, to Egg Benedict’s, 2 Choices of eggs to your own preference, Local Malaysian Nasi Lemak, Roti Canai & French Toast. I must say their roti canai and French toast is a must to try simply irresistible. Their big breakfast and egg Benedict’s are deliciously consume with amazing set up.
Other than the set breakfast they have, other buffet style of cold ham, chicken and beef cold cuts with fruits from strawberries, dragon fruits, papaya and watermelons. They even serve Chinese light dim sum and Pao, with many pastries and conflakes of your choice.
What amazingly about this hotel is they have a honey nest specially for you to scoop the fresh honey with a small spoon to scoop it freshly and can consume eligibly and it tastes one word “YUMMY.” No regrets.
Our stay includes a set of high tea that comes with freshly baked scones and fresh strawberries with ready made sandwiches and most of all the local marble cakes is a must to try and consume with light tarts and pastries dining outside overlooking the best scenery of Cameron Highlands with refreshing cold breezy air and twinkling of birds surrounding. Well done.
One Setback: is the Water Heater. Every time when one person takes a shower in the bathroom with the heater on; the next person must wait another 20 minutes before he or she showers with the heater on otherwise when you bath out of sudden brushing cold water flushing throw the shower on your body from sudden hot shower to cold with sudden shiokness.
Overall experience is fantastic and phenomenally awesome 💞💞💞💞

Dear x96lee26 It is an absolute delight to hear from you and thank you so much for the beautiful narration following your recent accommodation experience. We are over the moon and glad to know all of you have had enjoyed the 3-night stay at our idyllic Tudor-style country home. Painstakingly preserved for a journey of heritage discovery, it means a lot to us when you and friends are being charmed by it all. As great guest experience is our top priority and we hold this in high regard, we thank you for your heartwarming complements on Param and team of dedicated Hosts for their amazing hospitality and the arrangement of special tours. Your special highlight on our breakfasts and tea offerings had also been passed on to our passionate Kitchen crew who continually strives to deliver sumptuous homestyle offerings. You certainly had brought a big smile to Team Lakehouse, and all conveyed their warmest and they look forward to seeing all of you very soon. We had noted your feedback on our shower heater and this had been looked into for rectification works. As guests' comfort is utmost important to us, please do accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. The Lakehouse is staffed by an amazing team of hardworking, warm-hearted people, who make you feel welcome at all times. No request is too small or big and always fulfilled with a genuine smile. If you have any dietary requirements, be sure to email ahead with specifics and they will do their very best to accommodate.
The rooms are first rate, the quality of the food is good and the ambience is cosy. Room rates may include an excellent breakfast, which is essential for fuelling up before trekking through the Mossy Forest or the tea plantations.
Can't do much about the flies but it's part and parcel of being in the countryside. The bar's spirits selection is in desperate need of an update but the enthusiastic and attentive service and adequate wine list make up for it.
Airport transfers can be arranged through The Lakehouse and be sure to ask for Mr Siva. He knows every turn and pothole up and down the mountain road, which is extremely important for a relaxing journey which is about an hour (in moderate traffic) from the base to the hotel.
It's a fantastic getaway for individuals, couples, families or groups. It is my second time there and The Lakehouse is now a home away from home.

We have visited The Lakehouse on at least 3 occasions now, and will continue to come back due to the wonderful customer service, the beautiful hotel and grounds, and the great food!
Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Param, the front desk staff, and the bar staff. They all welcomed us back and remembered us from past visits, which was a really nice way to start our stay! When we arrived in our room, the staff had left us a welcome surprise of towel swans and rose petals on the bed, very thoughtful and unexpected! We were actually there to celebrate my birthday, but I did not tell the staff this, this is just the level of service they give all the time. The room was very clean as always, and you could tell that extra work had gone in given concerns around Covid-19.
On this occasion we took the complementary jungle trekking and had the pleasure of meeting Noyon who guided us through the jungle sharing all his knowledge of the plants and insects we encountered. Noyon was a fantastic guide and very patient with us and helped us navigate the best path on the trail.
The team in the restaurant were so accommodating and friendly. Heads up to fellow vegetarians...there is a special veggie menu if you ask and it has a good selection of choices! The kitchen staff even helped us to make a special request that wasn't on the veggie menu :)
I cannot say enough about how great The Lakehouse and the team there are, I would recommend to anyone visiting the Cameron Highlands area. We love it so much that we have already booked our next visit.

Returning after five years, we were delighted to find that the Lakehouse has been well maintained and, I suspect, recently completely redecorated. We again stayed in the Cameron Suite, located on the hill and separate from the main building. Everything in the suite was pristine and fresh, and the private outdoor terrace is a very pleasant place to sit with a book and a glass of something suitable.
Food continues to be good, and the staff very pleasant and helpful. The daily complimentary car wash is a very nice touch.
There were a couple of negatives, but both are outside of the hotel's control. Firstly, during the day the amount of traffic noise from the road seems to have increased - especially from noisy motor cycles which seem to be everywhere in Malaysia now! At night this is not a problem though, and we were not disturbed. Secondly, due to a decree by the Pahang State Government relating to Covid-19, the hotel was unable to serve alcoholic drinks in the public areas, including in the bar and dining room. Room service was not affected. We enjoy a glass of wine with dinner, and a nightcap by the open fire in the bar and were disappointed that we'd not been told before arrival of these restrictions. Would it have affected our decision to stay here? No, but our our expectations would have been tempered. However, Mr Param and his staff handled our initial disappointment very well, and our stay was enjoyable and not adversely affected.
Would we return? Definitely, and I would hope that its not another five years before we do so!

We were here for 2 nights in July 2020. There were 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids) so we took a family suite. We were given Room 1 which consisted of 2 connecting rooms, with a seating area in the master bedroom, and a spacious bathroom with separate tub and shower. Really love the bathroom with its classic black and white tiles and the powerful rainforest shower. Hot water for baths had to be enjoyed in turns, but it was not a problem for us as we were not in a rush anywhere. What we wanted to do was just to relax in the Lakehouse as everywhere else in Camerons was badly jammed over the weekend.
The common areas in the hotel were lovely, opening up to well-landscaped English gardens. My phone camera just went clicking the whole day; everything was too lovely. They even lit up the fireplace in the evenings for a snug, cosy experience.
The hotel provided excellent service, giving us complimentary afternoon tea and a complimentary car wash. They also gave nice touches like lollies and bears for the kids, and leaving us banana cakes and Milo in the room after room service, etc. These made us feel welcome and cherished.

If you're considering a trip to Cameron Highlands, we really recommend this place, The Lakehouse. The staffs are friendly. Food is nice. Service is professional. Room is spacious (and smells really nice). Bed is comfy. Free daily trekking and shuttle. Good afternoon tea. In the evening, they set up two big fireplace where u can chill with your family and they provided some board games. Just lounge around. The area Ringlet where the hotel is located is far from the noisy traffic. A total getaway.

It was one of those holidays we had planned with friends since September but with the uncertainty of the CMCO hanging over us, we had given up on this holiday ....well almost. A last minute reprieve with the relaxation of the CMCO , a quick confirmation on our booking which Mr Param , the Guest Relations Manager so very kindly had kept for us and was willing to confirm it as well even though it was very last minute .
Lakehouse Hotel is in Ringlet , so you don’t need to go all the way up the winding stretch . Weather was perfect ..cool days and slightly cooler evenings. We were really taken up by the immaculate maintenance of the hotel from the lobby, fireplace , rooms and gardens.
Friendly staff - from Mr Param , Ms Dash and Ms Thillaga and everyone else seemed so well trained and guest centric. Very friendly yet quietly going about their work.
We enjoyed the breakfasts that came with our bookings which was a combination of a simple buffet as well as an option to choose from a selection of a la carte. There was also complimentary tea and scones which we chose to sample on our day of arrival....the scones did not disappoint
Rooms were very clean, no mustiness whatsoever, snug and very comfortable.
Welcome drinks and cakes sent to our rooms along with the lovely flowers in our rooms just added to the overall thoughtful service.
One thing we missed due to the intermittent rains was the 2 km trek from the hotel.
We definitely look forward to another visit!

We are absolutely delighted to read that our team of dedicated Hosts had looked after you well and, Param, Dash and Thilaga remember you fondly and conveyed their best regards too. It was our first trip to Cameron Highlands plus a last minute decision but will certainly not be the last. The decor was really nice and that Christmasy feeling was so beautifully captured. We got a free upgrade to the honeymoon suite, which just blew our socks off. Was literally in tears mesmerized by the beauty of the breathtaking landscape. The room itself was so so beautiful., loved everything about it, deco, space, bathroom, the organic toiletries, the lights at night, the spacious balcony made me feel like we had the whole place for ourselves. I just didn’t want to leave the place. Thank-you Dinesh for arranging a perfect BBQ for us for our dinner, which was the icing to the cake for us. They even provided a free car wash for every guest, these small things matter a lot. We have decided to come back atleast once every three months and spend atleast 2 nights every trip with you all. We would like to thank Mr Param and his team for making The Lakehouse Cameron Highlands super special for us. We will definitely come back.

This was our third stay at the Lakehouse. We received a very warm welcome from the Assistant Manager, Mr Param who remembered us from earlier visits. He and his staff looked after us and made us feel comfortable at all times and part of the family there. The service and the staff are the main reasons we return.
We stayed in the same suite as last time and enjoyed the extra space this gave us for a 4 night stay
The hotel was full over the weekend and quite busy especially at lunch time, but the staff did their best to handle this.
The new High Tea is not to be missed and the other meals are very good too - the nightly set menu is great value and the curries are big enough to share.
Its unfortunate that the lake is now covered in lilies but this is out of the control of the hotel and just means that we looked at a green expanse rather than water.

We stayed in a Dbl deluxe room #5. It was large, super clean, well appointed and very comfortable.
Given the slow journey up (and down) from Ipoh due to trucks and busses, consider only a 2 night stay here. Very professional staff at all levels. Management should be very proud of what they have achieved. Your car will be washed for free each morning. I had asked at booking for firmer pillows and these were provided with a smile.
The breakfast buffet was well suited to westerners, etc with nice white coffees too. The extra cost high tea from 15:00 was also very much enjoyed. We ate in for dinner on both of our two night stays and were again very pleased with our dining experiences. Prices are a bit higher than locally expected; but the food quality eg steaks, etc was of the highest level. Exceptional service again.
We had a working in room safe. Many 4+ star hotels cannot manage this.
A rare hotel also that actually provided two suitcase stands.
Very pleasing towels. Such a little thing that again many supposed 4+ star hotels scrimp on.
Reception were happy to freeze my medical gel pack. The room has a small cooling only fridge. A coffee pod machine was in the room and it actually came with coffee pods.
The Cameron Highlands experience for us was overall a little disappointing as the region has become too over commercialised; so we were happy to return to the serenity of the Lake House early on our main touring day. You do need a car to visit this area. There is some traffic road noise for front facing hotel rooms eg #5, etc so perhaps ask for one that faces away from the main road.
The great room air con was still useful even with the 1100 m elevation.
I note that some recent reviewers have been less positive; but for us it was a 5 star stay.
