Location is very strategic. Right on Jalan Besar where all the nice cafe is. (Kula Cake, Kuantan Pickers, Tjantek, Kopi & Teh, Akar Kopi, Lena Cafe, Sup Ayam Kampung) to name a few. River Esplanade is just right behind the hotel. Our room is facing the river, upon request. To my suprise for the price, the hotel is very clean. Tv has many channel including sport. A mini fridge & sejadah. I bet the hotel is recently refurbish as it has a nice new paint coating & flooring. And so does the bathroom. They even offer connecting room, which is good if you are travelling in group & to my suprise they have lift. Parking is easy & plenty, but by the counsil. So we paid around RM4.50 daily or RM0.65 per hour. Overall, if you are in Kuantan for Jalan Jalan Cari Makan. I truly recommend this hotel.

I had stay here second time. Room, food and everthing are ok. Only one thing made me so terrified. This happened around 1.30 am. One man knocked my door and keep knocking until i asked him what he want. he asked me to open the door and said he sent me messages. I called the hotel staff and he told me that that guy came to this hotel for scam activity. I hope that hotel management put extra security such as excess card or monitoring visitor who came to the hotel. Seriously, this is my first experience staying at hotel and facing this kind of terrified situation.

Near to riverside park, breakfast start at 7. Either in ground floor hotel or outside, just walk a bit. Best sun rise while jog here. Dont forget to bring your own toothbrush set. Praying mat, qiblat, fridge, big bathroom, cozy bed, aaah... Recommended for me in an old town. The staffs are also good and polite.

Centrally located hotel with comfortable bed and a good shower. For the money there is little to complain about. Close to a lot of good coffee shops and restaurants. They was any issue with my booking than was sorted out very quickly and in a friendly manner.

Nice, modest hotel near the river. Even the hotel was pretty basic, it was very clean. Bathroom in our room had just been renovated and it was like in better hotels. Also the bed was incredibly nice. There was a new flat-screen TV and pretty many channels. However, not so many English channels is not. The Hotel have free WIFI on common areas and rooms.
Modest breakfast was also included in the room rate. Walking in price for Standard Room was amazing cheap 80RM/night.

We stayed one night at the Classic Hotel. We checked out the other Lonely Planet recommendations in the area and were not impressed by what we saw. The price of the Classic (92 RM with taxes) was a bit more than we had been spending on rooms but we needed a good rest.
The room was large with a tv and large bathroom as well. The bed was comfy enough. The stay included a great big breakfast with local options as well as eggs and toast type breakfast foods.
Our room looked back onto the river. The hotel is walking distance to most anywhere in the city but we did need to take a taxi to the bus station.
Overall for a one or two night stay this place does the trick. Nothing fancy but it's clean and spacious.

Chose the hotel based on price and amenities, and were not disappointed. After a couple of weeks of fan rooms and shared bathrooms we wanted a couple of days of a/c and a good shower, and we got that and more. A comfortable room with a great view over the river, and plenty of space with a comfortable bed. Nicely located for good restaurants and the redeveloped riverside area. The reception staff were delightful, helping with printing tickets and travel advice. They even had upgraded us to a suite without us asking, but as we preferred the slightly better view from our booked room, they switched us over without delay. A welcome haven that rained charged the batteries for the next leg of the journey.

I know I shouldn't expect much from budget hotel. But at least front desk staff should welcomed visitors with a smile, but she seemed like she wasn't in a good mood that day so she won't even bother to care me at first when I checked-in..Kind of surprised me when I had to wait abit until she finished her work? Also, she didn't inform me about the room key card that needed to refresh every day and I found it really troublesome..And the room has weak sound insulation so you can easily hear the noises from the corridor or next your room or noises from housekeeping and downtown if your room is city view. Even though the stay in this hotel wasn't a good experience, the hotel is still good with spacious room, big and clean bathroom, strong air-con, and good internet speed.

On our trip to the Taman Negara Park we stayed for 1 night at the classic hotel. Kuantan is quite a busy and noisy town, so go for the riverview rooms! Room was OK for the price, not far away on the same road is the Tjantek Art Bistro, which is a good food option.

The hotel is very near to mega view hotel. There are rooms offering river view. You can walk beside the river at night, as there is a pavement and rows of street lights installed. Adequate public parking is available just in front of the hotel. Restaurants are nearby. Staffs are friendly and helpful. My bathroom has a window which is connected directly to the outdoor without mosquito netting. So the mosquitoes flied directly into the room, as the bathroom door is also spoilt and cannot be locked. There are also small black ants crawling on the table. Aircond filter was dirty, after i clean it, the air cond was cold after that. Bed is clean. In front of my room (standard double), there was an old unused spiral staircase leading to the bottom floor, but there were 2 small SCREWS PROTRUDING out from the floor at the corridor, i tripped over it and luckily did not FELL ALL THE WAY DOWN from the third floor.
