Booked 4 rooms and stayed there for two nights. All went well the first night, was very happy that two of my colleagues were upgraded to a honeymoon suite instead of the standard Tatami.

However, the water pipe burst on my last day there and the water was making a super loud noise which needless to say woke me up. When I spoke to the manager about this, he said we can't do much as the technician is not in yet. So I have to just deal with the noise. Very very unprofessional I must say. And didn't even look apologetic. He even added, if I want to make any complaints, I should write in to the office in KL.

So, will I come back next time? Nope.. A definite no.

My family of 4 stayed here for a night earlier September. The hotel is not hard to find as it is situated just beside the main road. Upon arrival I was informed by the front desk that our room was upgraded from the Tatami room to the Honeymoon room, which is a definite plus, as part of their promotion. They requested for RM50 as deposit.

The room is situated on the 3rd floor, facing the main road. There were 2 windows in the room. Upon entering the room, we found that it was quite spacious and can comfortably accommodate us 4 pax.

Pros:
1. Spacious room. Adequately furnished.
2.Ample parking space outside of hotel for your cars.
3. Room service was fast to accommodate our requests.
4. Split unit aircond which you can control the temperature according to your liking.

Cons:
1. There were stains on the bedsheets. Knowing that the room is for 'honeymooners', I immediately asked to change them.
2. The breakfast has limited choices. But that's what you get for what you pay. They were okay to get your stomach full.
3. There's noise polution coming from the windows from the main road nearby.
4. Limited choice of TV channels. Only local channels' reception were good.
5. Wifi Was problematic.

All in all, it was definitely a value for my money.

We booked online as it was a quick decision for an overnight stay, after browsing for some options. During checked in, we found out that its cheaper for a walk in rate, plus additional discount for government staff. However, to our surprise, we were upgraded to a Honeymoon Suite which we initially planned to book! We excitedly took the lift for our room. It was indeed a vintage setting. Nevertheless the room could have been cleaned better as we found hairs and dust on the sofa and furnitures. We were unhappy that the sink in the toilet was clean but clogged with dirts, hairs etc. Hence, we had to run some water from a nearby hose. We decided not to use it. The traffic was quite heavy that night. Masjid is close by. Many halal restaurants and eateries around Kuantan area. The aircon was working well. Prayer mat, iron and ironing board are also provided.
Breakfast was provided the next morning. There were quite a spread including fruits, hot and cold drinks. Good food.
Our car was parked near the back side of the hotel as nearby parking space is limited.
Thank you Areena Boutique Hotel for a pleasant stay!

Affordable price. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We stayed 2D1N at this hotel. We booked two rooms two weeks in advance through a phone call instead of online booking. It was slightly confusing when booking online so that's why we booked through a call and the rate difference was RM10 higher and we thought they will handle better of our special request.

We requested for two deluxe rooms at the same floor but not many rooms left at the reservation time. So we had to choose one Deluxe Room and one Tatami Room. Tatami room rate is lower so we decided to let our parents with limited capabilities of movement to stay at the deluxe room. Tatami room is not suitable for elderly people because some Tatami rooms do not have windows, the room was not that spacious and the bed is Japanese style concept (no bed frame) so it makes it difficult for anyone who has knee & joints problems like our parents. Furthermore the lighting in Tatami room is not suitable for them with poor vision. Not a problem for young couples though.

Anyway, both room are nicely decorated. The bathroom is so nice and we felt so spacious. The water pressure is superb although we stayed at the highest floor. We love the rain shower the most!

Breakfast spread is standard for this type of hotel where nasi lemak, fried noodles, and toast are common. Don't expect much of the food spread but we must tell you that the fried noodles and the nasi lemak was very good. The sambal was so awesome, you should try it! Hopefully the chef remains there when you visit.

Overall, a great bed and breakfast hotel with good quality. Definitely value for money and be sure to make advance booking because I've seen many walk-ins came by for the room at night but the rooms are mostly fully booked.

Downside:
1. Front desk staff were less friendly. They ignored all my special request (two rooms on same floor), so I was heated up a little bit. Even the room rate was different from the one that I have agreed on the phone. They told me that the person who placed my reservation had left the job but didn't apologized it. But the front desk manager quickly took charge to settle and made new arrangement on my request.

2. TV reception signal is bad that for some channels, the audio and video were very poor condition and not watchable.

3. I hope the management will improve the lighting especially at corridors and inside the room. Otherwise this hotel looks like a love hotel, the kind of hotel where lovebirds would love to come and have some fun.

I was staying this hotel for a night and booking through web which I think the price was not up to our expectation. First impression when walk in was feel very good with all the decoration around, after entering to the room and found the room was a bit small, the toilet design is terrible and there is no door lock for the toilet and only with minor tinted glass can even see through, there even a cockroach inside the toilet which totally not acceptable, leakage on the toilet ceiling and cigarets smoke smell can easily smell inside toilet room. Our Room was facing to main road and it was noisy at night. Internet speed was horrible and slow. Worst thing again after next day morning breakfast, we was paid in advance for breakfast but when go to the restaurant, there is no more coffee and food only left few piece of bread....totally disappointed with this hotel. One more things is parking is a problems if you stay there.

We were already tired after our long drive up to Pahang and was given room 201. Imagine our horror when we discovered several cockroaches crawling about in the room, on the pillows. We reported the find and were given Insecticide canister to 'rid' the pests. Due to that our sleep was disrupted and we checked out early at 615am due to the discomfort. We wish that the hotel management would look into this matter and improve on the cleanliness of the hotel. Truly disappointed with the service and cleanliness of the hotel.
