Pool was nice size but sad that there is no control of proper swim wear. Women and children in their casual clothing and tudungs soaking up in the pool is barely OK, but grown ups boys and men in their jeans/T shirts is rediculous.
Office doesnt open early. Booked 3 bedroom apartment, when arrive they gave 2 different apartment. Reason booking overlap and they cant contact us. What is the purpse of email
n contact number asked in booking.com?
Never gonna return again
If you also am willing to walk down to the reception area to get your toilet paper rolls, tissue papers, cups and plates and spoons, then you'd also may like their good wifi in the lobby and be kept entertained by hostile mosquitoes, Wifi in rooms - dont bet on it.
All rooms have bathtubs and if you arent careful, one can slip on their floors as water seeps everywhere in the bathroom.
In one of our 2 bedded room apartment, they placed only 1 set of cup & saucer & spoon (and expect 4 people to share it!!!)
In one room, they put a single bed right up against the cupboard and makes you figure very hard in trying to place anything into that cupboard.
Yes, housekeeping exists, but I think they have dementia problems, as they keep forgetting to remove used towels and replace them, or to reload bathroom soaps and toiletries.
Queer but it happened. Talk to any of the receptionist and you'll see the male staff sitting down in front of a computer and looking at the monitor with an occassional look at you..."What's that you've just said?"
Swimming pool? Not theirs...belongs to another contractor & "oh, we cant do anything about it, but we agree, it is not clean (but okay, if you like algae in it). They even attribute the state of the pool to people who wear their clothes into the pool!!
There arent that many resorts in the area, and we dropped over to look at a few of them (Casa Titek, Holiday Villa, Swiss Garden) and they are pretty well located (not like Samsuria which is isolated in one dark corner of the far side of Cherating), and first impressions were pretty positive.
Was pretty skeptical at first because a friend had made the booking and when I read the reviews on tripadvisor, they were mixed reactions. It got me worried. Fortunately, our experience was a really good one and my worries proved to be unfounded
The turn off from the main road is easy to miss but we used waze and so it wasn't too much of a problem. Just slow down and look out for the signboards. In terms of the property itself, we found it to be really clean and the service staff were friendly enough. There is a convenience shop in the lobby selling basic necessities and then some. There's a pool in the middle of the 2 blocks. Seemed pretty clean when we were there. Didn't spend anytime here though as the beach is just past the hotel perimeter and it's super clean! Sandy beach and the best part is that it wasn't stony in the waters. No foot hazards. The water itself was very clear but didn't see any fishes around though.
The suite was spectacular. Very well appointed. Felt like we were entering someone's residence. 3 bedrooms and 4 baths with a sizeable kitchen, dining area and living space. Our favorite was the balcony which faces the sea. Soothing sounds from the waves and a cool breeze most of the day.
We spent most of our 2 days in the hotel premise itself, most of the time at the beach and the beach bar run by a french man. He had 2 very playful puppies that kept us entertained all the time, even when we were basking in the sun at the beach. What my wife didn't like was the occasional sand flies feasting on us. Got a bottle of bug repellent from town and that solved the problem.
It's a 15 to 20 mins drive to cherating beach if I recall. Went there twice. once for lunch and another for dinner. The once happening stripe is now pretty much quiet. Don't know if it's because we were there during Ramadan but I remember it to be super lively at night long time ago.
So overall, a good experience and was really pleased with the place. Will definitely go back
