We stayed in the standard family room and it was so spacious.
The hotel was generous with the basic amenities provided. The staff were helpful with arrangement of rooms for my family members who booked 2 other rooms with them.
Definitely will return again!

Stayed there for a night with my mom. Location is quite close to the city, just 7-10 mins drive away.

The room is equipped with all that the basic amenities that you need, and there is securities guarding at night.

However staff did not mention the complimentary garage parking as seen in other reviews, and recommended us to get coupons, until we asked if we could park at the hotel property.

Overall we like the room and it's definitely value for money to recommend my friends for their future visit to ipoh.

This used to be my favorites hotel before MCO, but now after MCO, everything changed, I booked the room 1 week earlier, when I check in, 2 indian lady staff ask for my booking ID, I passed them my booking details and my IC(as my booking name is same as the IC) but they just said they can't find my booking, they didn't receive my booking! They don't even search for my name to check properly. After they confirmed with their manager, my booking has been transferred to Expedia, but actually booking name is still same, just the booking I'd changed, why they still can't find the booking? Then, this 2 staff speaking Tamil Infront of me for few minutes to discuss their check in thing, .. they asked for my phone number, when I'm telling them my phone number, don't even finish my number yet then they speak Tamil again, discuss for something else. Then I stop and wait them to finished their discussion in Tamil language which I can't understand at all, then she ask again my phone number, then I have to repeat all over again. This is so rude to speak their own language Infront of guest somemore we can't understand it at all! After check-in,I realized they assigned me a twin bed room, they said they received my booking is with twin bed, but what I booked from agoda is double bed! Which is 1 big bed for 2 person! U tell me that u received booking stated twin bed, do u think this is my problem?! There are 2 different room type twin bed and double bed, I paid more expensive price for double bed, twin bed is cheaper! and I'm not saying that I choose the preference for double bed,The room type I booked is STANDARD DOUBLE BED ROOM. The next day I checked out early morning around 6/7 am, the front desk staff changed shift, is a Malay girl, she don't even say any word for the whole check out process, no greetings, no thank you at all and with dirty look. I stay in this hotel couple times before, everything was great back then, even though it located far from the Ipoh town I still choose to stay here but now no more next time, I know I should not have high expection for budget hotel but the staff really need to be train well on their knowledge and how to respect people..

We needed to book for 14 people and this was one of the few accommodations that had space and was refundable. We decided to choose a hotel instead of a homestay because of price and convenience (more bathrooms per person, 24-hr check in, amenities, etc)

LOCATION It's a ten-minute drive from the city centre. Not far at all, if you are driving around Ipoh.

SURROUNDINGS Right next to the hotel is a small but very well-stocked supermarket. There's also a halal cafe where we had supper one night. We parked our cars in front of the hotel.

CHECK-IN Every room was given one key card, air con remote, and TV remove. We paid a deposit for the key and remotes.

We mistakenly booked one room more than we needed. The T&Cs stated that we would have to pay for the room because we did not cancel it in time. Nonetheless, the front desk manager agreed to refund the room and asked us to call the booking website to process the refund. After a couple of phone calls, all was confirmed.

On another note, the lobby had a long sofa, chairs and a table, and a water dispenser, which was nice for the rest of our party waiting for the check-in process.

ROOM ACCESS There was one lift, and there were no steps or stairs.

ROOM The room had no windows, but it didn't matter to us because we only stayed a night. It also had air-conditioning (not central -- we could control it ourselves with a remote), two beds, a bedside drawer, a long bench to put luggage, a wardrobe, a desk and chair, hair dryer, and cable TV. Inside the wardrobe was a safe, 2 glasses, coffee packet, bathroom amenities like soap and sewing kit. Each bed had a towel and a pair of slippers on it. Lighting was bright.

I'd say that the room was small (we definitely would not have been able to fix an extra bed in it) but it was clean and cosy.

BATHROOM The en suite was small and basic but clean and modern -- seemed very new. The shower area was not enclosed with a door or curtain -- only a glass panel between the shower area and the toilet bowl. To try to keep the bathroom as dry as possible for my roommate, I had to shower very carefully and very close to the wall. Fortunately we were only there for one night.

CLEANING We only stayed for a night, so housekeeping didn't come in to clear our room.

WI-FI There are several Wi-Fi routers around the hotel and the password is written on the phone in the rooms. We didn't use it much but it worked fine for Whatsapp and facebook.

MEALS We didn't eat in the hotel -- I don't think they have a restaurant there anyway.

FACILITIES No typical facilities I can think of. There was a water dispenser in the lobby, and parking outside the hotel. The receptionist provided us with a list of places of interest.

SERVICE The front desk was accommodating and helpful.

CHECK-OUT Although typical check out is noon, we requested for a later check out and were able to check out at 2pm.

FINAL RECOMMENDATION I would stay in Mornington Soon Choon again. Sure, the room doesn't have a window, and showering can be a little inconvenient, but whenever we do go to Ipoh, it's never more than one night, and we're certainly driving. So it's just perfect for us.

New Hotel. Room is spacious. Amenities with fridge, coffee and water dispenser which locate at lobby. Hotel conditions in between Budget and Luxury. Room facing behind not interesting as website show. Picture of Deluxe Room is more interesting. Will back and have a stay next time.

At the first sight on its facade, i was not very impressed However, my expectations changed drastically the minute i stepped into this hidden gem.

The rooms are selling for just Rm 100. However, i feel that i am treated as if i am more than a normal guest. Below are some plus points i noticed:

Location- Very well located (Directly opposite of Kwan Yin Tong) along the highway
Private Carpark
Lift Access
Fast Wifi
Modern Interior
Full amenities (Slippers, Water, Coffee, Vanity Set, Sewing Kit, Hair Cap, Soap, Shower Gel, Toilet Roll etc.)
Service- Staff stood up and greeted me upon check in: That is 5-Star Hotel Service!
Security guard employed after 8pm

For RM100, i will never hesitate to come again. I am a happy returning customer !

I stayed in this hotel for one night and I highly recommend this to people who are visiting Ipoh with car. Firstly you dont need to worry about parking place, there are ample of parking places available.
There's a security guard at the door when i arrived, so its considered safe. And when i entered the room, it was so spacious as in the price i paid. The cleanliness is good as this is a new hotel, and each hotel have individual hair dryer (quite powerful dryer) and have 3 mirrors so we wont have the problem of waiting.

overall very good hotel for short stay and very cheap. =)

I chose this hotel because of few criteria from tripadvisor itself but nah I can see nothing much difference tho. Tv channel nothing much to show, we went down asked the Indian guy regarding the tv channel but he said it’s random tv show depends on the room I was like what??? The room was ok, it’s spacious. We requested for king bed but what can I see is they’re actually combined 2 single bed that you can see the line gap which it will make you uncomfortable when sleeping. Wifi was ok. It was loud at 6-7 am. First, I can hear next room’s alarm clock which keep repeating after 5 mins. Second, and this is what annoys me the most. The staff itself I think might be cleaner or housekeeper, they turn on the radio when passing by the room and it was non stop as the housekeeper might be cleaning the same floor but well we still can hear tho. Please respect your guest. Overall, if I would come back to Ipoh I won’t stay here again.
