We confirmed the trip in very last minute so others hotel in city have been fully booked. This is our first time stayed here. The price for double room really cheap Rm69 per night. The hotel was very old fashion and run down but clean is ok. Recommend for short stay. We stayed 1 night. Still considered very worth the price because it is hardly find this kind of price in Ipoh down town. We just walking 5 min to arrive to the famous restaurant nearby. Stayed on August 2020.
Although generally the accommodation is more expensive than the rest of south east Asia the rooms were clean and comfortable with good aircon so we were happy. The location is good and the staff are friendly
Last year from the pictures by Booking.Com I decided to book the Caspian Hotel which was supposedly looking ok by its images and photos. The price was low and its location was fairly good. However, when my husband and I reached there Ipoh Bus Station in the night, no taxi driver could know by its English name, Caspian Hotel. Two taxi drivers took us both to the wrong hotel. It was quite frightening. And thankfully it was near midnight, a helpful man came along and told the 3rd taxi driver it was SIN KOK PING translated into Cantonese and we reached there safely.
It's a rather cheap hotel considering I'm sharing the hotel fees with my friend. The rooms are spacious enough and clean too. Another thing is the hotel do have hot water so don't have to worry about it. The receptionist was a great guy and would recommend us places to go and eat. Overall great experience here.
An old premise but properly maintained, clean lobby and clean room. If you have some appreciation for buildings, you can observe fine workmanship on the old mosaic flooring and the spacious stairway. There is no lift in this old building but the location is a great one with all fancy eateries of walking distances, a great location for exploring the city on foot. The premise is quite, thus, allowing one to have a good night's rest. Very helpful and considerate staff to help arrange for rooms at 1st floor when I stayed with elderly and children.
This hotel is quite conveniently located for both Ipoh Parade shopping mall and walking to the old town. There are also eateries and cafés in the vicinity. It is usually described as Ipoh's best budget hotel which I chose mainly because it has its own car park. Street parking involves buying a parking coupon. My room was near the stairs on the second floor and was large and quiet, as per my request, as the room window overlooked the car park and not the street. The room walls were painted white with a wooden floor and grey window curtains which were partly broken as the left side refused to slide across the window. There was a comfortable enough double bed to sleep on with some other furniture, namely a comfortable chair, a desktop and chair and a two-shelved top on which there was an old cathode-ray tube TV and remote control. There was also a mirror placed on the desktop and a bedside table with a telephone and ashtray. Two small bottles of water and 2 glasses were also provided plus a wardrobe with a few clothes hangers. The room had aircon which did work well enough. The WiFi sometimes worked and sometimes didn't and wasn't always switched on. Outside the bathroom door, there was a small washbasin with a mirror mounted above it while the bathroom itself was small, but came came with a wall-mounted shower which worked well enough. There were quite a few ants and one mosquito in the room which I managed to kill with my own fly spray. Given the price of RM73 + RM10 foreigner tax, this hotel is very acceptable and can be recommended. I would stay here again the next time I'm in Ipoh. …
Stayed there for 3 days 2 nights. Nothing to scream about but they do have comfortable beds and the venue is to our liking because we do a lot of activities outdoor. Safety can be improve. Cleanliness is okay for a budget hotel and water pressure is good.
The man at the front desk was really friendly and helpful. Close to big shopping centre and 15min walk to old town. Strong shower. Good price. Rooms are quite old and not very clean. Aircon had no remote as it was centralised - had to open window to control temperature. Corridors echoed a lot so could hear people coming and going.
This hotel is cheap, which is the best thing going for it. If you are staying only a night or two in Ipoh, it is a good option but if longer than that it might be better to go slightly upmarket. Pros - the hotel is quite close within a 6-7 minute walk of the Ipoh Parade shopping mall and also within 5 minutes of local hawkers. It is also only 20 minutes walk from the Old Town area. The shower was quite powerful and had plenty of warm water. The beds were comfortable and the A/C sufficient. Wi-fi was okay. Cons - very basic so the room doesn't have a kettle or complementary water, tea etc. There is no fridge either and the TV is an old analogue model tuned (badly) into mostly Malay, Indian, Chinese etc channels and no remote. The room could have been cleaner as there was a layer of dust on some surfaces. Overall an okay option but you could probably find something nicer for a few ringgit extra.…
Stayed for a night. 2 females travelling together, got the corner room which felt a little unsafe. But it was clean and the receptionist was friendly to ask for directions. Convenient place, walking distance to the mall and to the old and new town for exploring. Would be better if a man is around, i feel.
