Please check the room before you pay . This hotel is lacking in certain standards and depending on how shallow your pocket, you might be very disappointed afterwards! having checked the state of the room, I decided to go elsewhere and spend rm25 more on Hotel D eastern 200 m away (rm105). If you can afford rm125 upwards , go for French Hotel which is well rated/tested, the motto is ‘what you pay is what you get !’ so don ‘ t over expect unless you are a backpacker or a local Budget traveller. I have stayed in Impiana hotel (4 star rated by booking.com but it should be only one star (as the rating is distorted by including in historic earlier excellent ratings )when it was new! And one of the best around ! advice - check book before you pay as opposed to prepay. some don’t mind basics as all they need a bed to sleep !

Low budget, 70’s interior looking hotel situated near to Sunday flea market. The room was generally clean and comfortable enough. Bathroom is equipped with hot water. Check in and check out was super fast, front desk staff were friendly and very helpful. The building doesn’t have any lift facility if your room is in third floor. I was given a third floor room, overlooking the main road which I like. Ample parking available, you can also park at the road side parking lot for free on Sunday.

The room was pretty decent. It serves the purpose if your main aim in Ipoh is to walk around. Conveniently located in the city center, it was very easy to approach all tourist destinations. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and guided us on where all we could go around. One drawback is the carpark was barely so, it could fit 3 cars. We had issues regarding double parking.

Hotel rundown air con sounds like locomotion toilet with slippers very slippery careful for seniors.... room very dirty with ants crawling on table... tv only local stations not much channel to choose from. Car park wow I wouldn't want to park my car there . Rather park on road side.

This is by far the creepiest hotel I have ever stayed. We got a room with 1 queen size bed, and 2 single bed. However the room looks more like a store room to store unwanted furniture. There are 2 torn sofa, out of place cupboards and the carpet is so disgusting.

Too long a story to tell but the WiFi was none existent when I checked in and it took 5 hours for the owner to come and reset it. It was still only marginal. Staff members Kerin and Verra were helpful at all times, but without authority to enter the office I guess. There was a terrible sewer stench under the stairway. Then the room was pretty bad. An ancient old sound system was the nightstand, the walls were filthy and when I put a slice of watermelon down long enough to go into the bathroom, I came back to find it swarmed by tiny bugs and had to throw it out. I wiped down the "nightstand" to kill the bugs.

Location is good, just diagonally opposite The Store (dept store). Round the corner two Indian Muslim restaurants. Within walking distance are the two restaurants selling well-known Ipoh favourites, steamed chicken and bean sprouts dishes, shops selling biscuits and pastries, salt-baked chicken. 15 minutes walking distance from railway station. Room is mid-sized and basic. Had a first floor room. No lift. Sheets were clean as was the toilet. Free wifi worked too. Recep was friendly and informative. We were there actually for a few hours before train departure. Booking website should have given details of day rate, RM35. We paid double (RM77) what we could have paid but we could not cancel original booking by then.

The facility is old but OK. Very good surrounding with many shops including eating outlet. Had our late breakfast at the mamak restaurant downstairs. After that did some shopping at the shoes shop right opposite the hotel. Good buddy.

at one glance, thought of another disappointment. But it proved my first impression misleading...I especially like the following:' 1. walking distance to practically the famous jln leong sin nam for timsum. 2. opposite the store dpt store where u can buy everything u need. 3. below is a 24-hour mamak shop to fill yr tummy. 4. the staff on duty is friendly (we gor malay, indian...chinese is the boss). they helped to direct us to many destination.. 5. the room is generous....you can switch on aircon the whole day (sorry to dry our clothes...and i know is not helping the environment...) 6. enough sockets to charge your gadgets... 7. free wifi...excellent strength...no joke! i can even use it at the mamak shop ! My dislike: 1.It has no lift or escalator...u need to lift your luggage on your won. 2. with the 24-hour mamak shop ard...noisy and affecting your sleep. 3. they should consider changing the floor mat or wash it more regularly,.

Advantage: This hotel is located in the town, easy access to restaurants and taxi. Closer to the Chinatown were you can see different restaurants especially in the evening. Disadvantage: The hotel looks nice and new outside. The information desk looks nice and clean. The staffs were unfriendly. When you get inside the rooms, there you will find out what's the problem of this hotel. I know for a fact that this a budget hotel. I've been traveling to many countries and cities and stayed many times in budget hotel and most of them are decent nice and clean. But this hotel is an exemption. The room looks so old and smells old. The bed looks so old with stained sheets. The floor was very dirty, the furnitures were old and broken. The AC was very noisy so you can't sleep. Very noisy outside the hotel. No english channels. Wifi was not working at all. You will just get annoyed. The towels are very thin like a curtain and not to mention very old and dirty. Smells cigarette because they don't have non-smoking rooms. The bathroom was very dirty and old, floors were very dirty. The toilet tank doesn't work. So if you want to have a nice vacation, better look for another hotel. Never comeback again.
