Stayed at Bedrock during May Day long weekend. The minute you step into Bedrock, it feels like visiting an old friend’s home. Debbie, Mr Chong and Yee are so friendly and make us feel so welcomed. We stayed at room no 10, although the room is relatively small, we love the fact that the room has everything you need, the attention to details is amazing! The bed is super comfy and comes with 2 bolsters (you hardly see this in hotels in Asia). Room has enough power sockets which are easily located (necessity these days when you need to charge your phone and ipad), water dispenser with hot and cold options (rather than plastic water bottles), bath tub which actually comes with bath salt and Japanese toilet seat which has bidets and iron&ironing board stored neatly in the cupboard. We had to go Taiping early in the morning and Yee made sure that we have enough snacks since he said the journey can take a while, this is despite the fact that we already had a breakfast at the hotel! Debbie was very helpful in recommending us places to go and places to eat. The restaurant she recommended, turns out to be one of the best meals we had in Ipoh. Hotel location is great, there are a lot of local eateries near the hotel. Fujiwara tofufa is great! We walked to the old town a couple of times, it is an easy walk with nice murals and old shophouses along the way. The famous beansprout chicken (Lou Wong and Onn Kee) are also within walking distance from the hotel. Definitely highly recommend Bedrock!…
We stayed in a duplex family room consists of a king bed and 2 single beds with 2 bathrooms. The hotel is strategically located on a quiet area but within walking distance to the nearby food outlets. Restaurant Chee Wah, famous for claypot lao shu fen (rice flour noodles) and chicken wings is situated opposite the hotel. The air-conditioned room is comfortable and spacious in view that there were only 3 of us for a room of 4. Room amenities: hot/cold drinking water dispenser, Nespresso machine, coffee/tea making facilities, TV with local and international channels, minibar, wardrobe, room safe, iron and ironing board, sofa and make-up table and chair. The ensuite bathrooms consist of washing basin, half-body length mirror, hot/cold standing shower, rain shower, toilet, body towels, hand towels, and floor mats. Toiletries such as shower gel and conditioning shampoo, hair dryer, cotton bud, shaving kit, shower cap, toilet paper, tooth brush and tooth paste are provided. The breakfast is served in a beautifully decorated dining area. Complimentary hot breakfast inclusive of sausages, sunny-side up egg, hash brown and baked beans are prepared by the staff. Toast, pastries, cereals, biscuits, milk, juice, coffee and tea are provided for in-house guests. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this hotel. We will be back for next visit.…
I needed a stopover in Ipoh and haven't been there for some time, and depended solely on reviews to make a choice. I made a booking for a family room, which has 2 king size beds. The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside ... in an older part of town, and in a shop lot. But the inside is lovely. Nice decor and really comfortable room. The location is superb, near a number of eating places such as Funny Mountain tau foo fa, Lou Wong chicken rice, etc. Debbie the proprietor / manager is wonderful. We arrived really late (after 11pm), and she stayed to welcome us. She's also informative on where to go, what to do around Ipoh. I'm looking forward to our next trip to Ipoh and I know where we will be staying!
Stayed for one night. Requested for high floor and owner heard. Very convenient location wise, walking distance to eateries. Free parking. Owner lady was enthusiastic and willing to assist in anything. Hotel decorations were unique and instagrammable. Breakfast was so-so but no complaints. Room and bathroom were very clean (almost the cleanest among all those I stayed before) and with all amenities you can think of and even you wouldn't think of. Just two points I could think of for improvement: 1. The shampoo dispenser was leaking. 2. Furry hairy carpet in room. Carpet was beautiful but some kind of own impression that carpet was the dirtiest item in hotel room and even its a furry hairy one. Overall speaking, it's a nice hotel stay experience and the hotel is recommended.
My wife and I spent two nights in late February at the Bedrock Hotel...it was excellent. We were greeted by the owner Debbie who was very friendly and a mine of essential information. She was the same whenever we met her. The hotel does not look special from the outside but inside it is a gem. The room was extremely comfortable and everything was well thought out. The bathroom was also well appointed. The only slight negative during our stay was the unreliability of the internet which was due to the supplier and not the hosts of the hotel. Breakfast was included and again it was all you wanted...with a choice of hot meals. My wife and I were in total agreement that his was excellent and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
