We are very pleased by the hotel. It is obviously a labour of love and passion. The modern art pieces and rocks on display are interesting. Room and bathroom has exceeded our expectations. And Debbie the Proprietor is beautiful.

I don’t know why my review is missing. I wrote such a long one. This hotel will blow your mind. The two staff there ( 2 Chinese guys) are amazing. It’s a 5 star to me. The room, service ambience just exceeded our expectations. Nespresso n filter in the room was such a bonus. The showers and bedding were comparable to a 5 star. For the first time I have come to a hotel and enjoyed the bed as much as my own. Lovely decor and set up at lobby and rooms with complimentary mini bar. This hotel is an oasis in Ipoh. I can’t recommend it enough.

Really enjoyed this hotel for 2 nights. Nice boutique hotel only 10 rooms! In new town a short walk to all the sites. I had room number 2, big and comfy great bathroom and tub. Wish they had hair conditioner and softer towels. Bed was comfortable, in room safe and filtered water in room. Outlets for charging by the bed a plus and plenty of hot water for showers ! Would recommend and return!

I discovered Bedrock hotel by chance for an overnight stay. Absolutely highly recommended. Debbie the owner is very friendly, knowledgeable and resourceful. The room is spacious, well appointed, decorated to a high standard and very clean. The service is second to none. Thanks Debbie and the team for making our stay a memorable one. Will definitely stay at Bedrock again when we come back to Ipoh next time.

My partner is from Penang and we have visited a couple of times. Not been back for 4 years due to Covid. Back in 2023 for 4 weeks and thanks to YouTube I discovered Ipoh and the famous Chinese bakery. It’s a 3 hour drive from Penang but worth it. Lots to see and do and some amazing street food as recommended by Debbie. Debbie is the most accommodating host I have ever met and that’s from someone who owns a guest house in UK. Debbie can’t do enough to help and guide you in the right direction. She is a beautiful lady and runs an amazing hotel with her family (I think). We have an apartment in Penang and try to come back once a year. We will definitely come back to Bedrock in Ipoh and will be very happy to recommend to all our friends. Very Highly Recommended. Thank you Debbie. Chee and John ❤️

What a lovely surprise! We arrived in Ipoh after an easy drive from KL to a hotel and streetscape that may leave a little to be desired, but upon entering we were greeted so nicely and made to feel most welcome. I can't remember the name of the fellow who checked us in, but he wasn't one of the owners (who themselves were also lovely people). Our room was the suit and wow, we were so very surprised at the spaciousness of it! We'd just come from a room 1/3 the size in KL, so we were super please with this one. The fitment was also quite nice. Location is pretty good, not too far from Old Town, and plenty of food options available all around us. To our hosts - thank you for making our stay there so good!

The last 3 nights were spent in this lovely boutique hotel in Ipoh that's conveniently located within Old Town and within walking distance to several of the places. We got a duplex family room, good for 4 pax, with a king bed downstairs and 2 twin beds in the loft area above, with 2 bathrooms. I was impressed with the filtered water system provided in the room, where we could have both hot and cold water easily. Less plastic bottles wasted and no need to boil water too. They still provided a pot on the loft level so you can still boil your own upstairs if you are just too lazy to walk up and down the stairs. Rooms are clean and everything seems pretty new still. Staff are super friendly, always greeting us with a smile and Debbie was so kind to offer us recommendations too. Breakfast was included and basic. Sufficient to keep you full but if you prefer to try more local food, you can also save your stomach and get your own as you explore, like we did on the last day. Lucky to also be here to witness their decor turnaround from a sneaky peeping-tom Santa to 财神 (God of Fortune) at the door 😂

Good rooms with everything you need. Owner and staff very helpful and kind. Two small negatives: At night it was sometimes noisy from outside and the selction for breakfast was small. But you can get some eggs. Net net: good value for money and so I d book again.
