It was a clean and cute hotel. There was no refrigerator or kettle. There was a hot water server and tea outside the room, which we could use freely. Drinking alcohol in the rooms is prohibited. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but there is a delicious sauna restaurant called Mama Kim next door, which also has a morning set, so we were able to have breakfast at a reasonable price. The location is also good.

It is a very homely and relax spa and massage hotel. It is a one-stop hotel for spas, massages, facials, manicure and pedicure, all services at affordable prices. Good value and hassle free payments. The whole hotel has nice aromatherapy infusion, good quality drinking water, rest and relax cosy corners. Nice vibes!

From the moment you walk through the doors of the Sojourn Guest House you feel at ease. The hotel smells absolutely divine with strong lemongrass fragrance (they sell their own essential oils).

Check-in staff are very efficient and you are in your room in no time.

We have stayed in both the family room and family house room and both are perfect for a family of 4. They are very beautifully decorated with modern features. The beds are very comfortable and the pillows are perfect. There is a lovely gift of apples waiting for you in your room.

There is free parking, a restaurant and a day spa conveniently located onsite.

One thing to be aware of is that alcohol and pork products are not allowed in rooms and you may be charged a cleaning fee.

It is the perfect home away from home in Ipoh and we won't stay anywhere else.

The atmosphere, music and scent go well with the great design to create a transformative experience. Sadly it just wasn't followed up with good service. The worst was the massage. We paid western prices and it was painful (despite asking for 'more gentle'. I ended up feeling bruised all over for 2 days; one of my co-travellers (a teen) ended up crying. We had problems with our tv and the hot water. They were slow to respond and didn't really fix them. The cafe next door and the one across the road (7 Warna Kopitiam) are excellent, both with great service, quality and food. Otherwise, the place is a long way from anywhere and the roads don't all have footpaths, good lighting etc so you will need Grab on your phone.

First glance on the guest house, it was glamorous and comfy.
I know that it is new years eve, and most probably will be a very hectic timing. Lots of bookings, lots of cleaning to do.
So, first, when we arrive, we plan to check-in early, and we were being requested to pay RM100 just to check-into a room where they already done the house cleaning.
During this process, there were only 1 receptionist working. She have to pick up phones and do sales or check for booking and also have to get my card keys
with documents to sign. It took us more than 15 minutes just to get 1 of the room card keys for kids to rest. By the way, we were only the customer at the receptionist. My wife and I have to wait for another 2 hours to get my card keys because the room is not ready.

We took 2 family deluxe quad, the room interior design is very exquisite and very comfortable. Everything seems to be fine for my kids room. After 2 hours, I took my room card keys and quickly took a shower and a short nap. After that, things start to happen, as we all know, one of the main reason for visiting Ipoh is food. So, i happen to take away some roast pork and was thinking to chill with my kids while waiting for dinner after my nap. When I woke up, my roast pork is crawling with a lot of ants! Only then I notice my unit is like filled with ants, the clothing I wore which happen to maybe dirty by food was crawling with ants, the basin area also show up.

Next the cleanliness, all the window frame was dusty, the heading of my bed is dusty, the toilet was not clean properly as well. The flooring is all wood panel without laminations, so u can tell that around the toilet area, the woods starts to
have fungus within.

Funny facts… this family deluxe quad, is really a “family” kind of room, because its toilet doesn’t have any locks! I suspect there were also leakage at their shower bathroom.

Last but not least, the all the workers at the guest house is unfriendly. No greetings to customer, not even wanted to serve us automatically.. And the so called shaded car park still manage to make my car filled with bird poo…

IMO, this guesthouse is charging a luxurious hotel price, but it doesn’t meet up with the lowest requirement.
I hope this guesthouse can and want to make more
changes. There are still plenty of improvement can be done, but before that I won’t gonna stay for the moments.

Sojourn spa Ipoh
Stayed for a night on our way to our final destination, travelled as a family. Close 10mins driving distance to the famous eatery. Stayed in a room with a double and single bed, with a desk, lounge area that looks out to residential area. Appreciate the touch of lemongrass essential oil throughout the hotel and dim lighting which gives you a sense of calm and zen. Enjoyed the complimentary 15mins massage. Wished the shower was hotter and dust around the basin was attended to. Parking onsite can be limited but staff was helpful in locating parking bays.

What a lovely guest house! Our room was neatly decorated with a sitting room area that felt cosy and spacious for a party of 3 adults. The amenities were great too with nice aromatherapy scent, and the sink even had warm water. The bed and towels were clean and the water pressure was wonderful.
It’s truly a place to consider for a comfortable night sleep.
There were also discounts for their facial services but we checked-in late, therefore, couldn’t try it out.
Something to do: visit the open aired car park at night and be amazed with their ceiling fairy lights - insta-worthy

We booked on the same day and was pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to the King Duplex. The hotel was spotless and offers a relaxing ambience. I find that it offers a refreshing change since I personally find that options can be limited in this town. Check in and out was efficient, and the front office staffs are warm and friendly. They ask for an RM100 cash deposit which will be refunded upon check out. If there’s any feedback, it’s to note on their booking platform posts that their check out time is 11am.
