I stayed here in the Deluxe King Room for 2 nights with my wife and 2 children (7 & 6 years old), and we managed to just fit on the King size bed. The room is spacious. We paid over RM300 per night which I think is fair consider it was holiday season and I booked rather late. It's not my first time here, stayed multiple times for my business trip and glad it maintained well after the Covid lockdown. Everything in the room is still in good condition.

Those who drive, basement parking lots are available and they are now collecting RM2 per stay for hotel guests. Location is good with just 2-3km away from most of the famous Chinese eateries. At night you can just cross the street to the Kinta River where there are rides for the children to enjoy. There is a 7-Eleven store at Ground floor but it closed rather early about 8-9PM.

I did not take the breakfast so no comment on that.

We had a lovely stay - rooms were clean and well maintained. Breakfast was delicious
A special mention has to be made about the fantastic Ipoh coffee served at breakfast. The smoky roasted aroma of the coffee suggests that freshly grounded coffee was used. Kudos to the chef
There was confusion however about the hotel being operational. Apparently during the height of the MCO/ lock down period - the hotel was said to have ceased operations. Many people I met were actually surprised that the hotel was actually open. Many I spoke to had actually booked to stay at other places in the mistaken belief that this place was closed for business. You guys should get out there and inform people you are open. Otherwise people are going to bypass this fantastic place.
Please keep up the good work

I had booked a 3 night stay for my first ever visit to Ipoh and chose this hotel by reports and location. This turned out to be a BIG mistake as the service (or lack of) was disgusting. Reception staff whilst relatively friendly where either poorly trained, not trained, or just did not care.
The room on the 17th floor was quite OK, but that was the only good point of the stay. Firstly the room safe was locked upon arrival, and it took 2 hours for this to be rectified and in the end completely changed. During the time spent waiting for this to be completed we went to the Moon River Bistro for a drink. When we ordered from the menu we waited about 10 minutes only to then be advised that "we do not serve these". Why Not? a shrug of the shoulders.
Later we asked at reception for a Taxi/Grab to the Ipoh Tourism office, but instead were taken to the Perak Tourist office, similar but NOT WHAT we asked for.
Then I decided that we would not stay after the first night, just forfeited pre-payment and made the stay a one night only.
Very disappointed at missing Ipoh, but this property is not worthy of staying at.
Breakfast next morning was OK but nothing special, and again due to the property having an obvious want to us black throughout very hard to read signs on the food service trays.
Having stayed in numerous hotels around Asia over many years, this was the most disappointing I had ever encountered.

We stayed there for only two days and one night. Without give a huge look about how many tv channel you can watch, how fast the internet wifi you can get, we stayed peacefully and calmly in the room given. Alhamdulillah, one the most remembered thing we had was how we get back our left behind cloths. The housekeeping maid who is Ali Hudson was done his great job when securing our goods and report it immediately to management. His sincerity and high integrity owed me my salute. Thanks again...

1. Check in time is 3pm. When I arrived at 3.30pm with a toddler and luggages, we were told the room can only be available at 4.30pm. I've to change all my plans for the day.
2. When we checked in at 8.30pm I saw dirty towels lying on the floor outside my room and the room next to ours. And not very surprising, there are no towels in the room. And one of the new towels given to us later, I believe it was washed but there were a few very visible patches of stain.
3. There was 2 out of 4 lifts which were not working all the time during our 2 days there. And the lift area was without air conditioning. For a 19-floors building, we would be sweating all over while waiting averagely 5-8 min everytime for the lift.
4. There was still left over water in the kettle probably from the previous guests.
5. The fridge is not cold at all, in fact I can feel the warmth or heat. And it stinks!
6. The bed is stiff, pillow is thin and too soft.
7. They gave only 1 key room. Second card is upon request, and it wasn't working.
8. The breakfast buffet comes in a good variety. Not delicious, but acceptable.
9. Overall customer service is very average. Room service is below average.
All the above might not be big problems. But when it adds up, it is a pretty unpleasant experience.

The front desk staff was courteous and helpful. Lift access to rooms was secured with the use of room's card. Room was clean and comfortable. Don't expect too much beautiful Kinta River view but you can satisfy yourself with views of Ipoh City. Breakfast spread was adequate for me to start the day's business, but maybe a little bit short for glutinous consumption.

I’m afraid to say that this is the worst hotel I have every stayed at, upon arrival it all looks lovely but once you enter the elevators it all changes. The corridors above are dated and did not seem clean, the room was disgusting with many stains across the floor, curtains and the bed. There was no hot water at all. We went straight downstairs to advise them of the state of our room and that we booked for two adults and a child, there was no bed for a child (they did apologise and offer to bring one). They offered us another Superior King Room to match ours.. I went to look and it was exactly the same. We are here for a wedding so don’t really have a choice but to stay. Our 13 month daughter has started to walk just, she slid off the bed with no shoes on, walked around the bed and her feet were covered in wire type black hairs, it was shocking. We had to get tissue to remove and then clean her feet and now can not be in the room without shoes. The socket with the hair dryer blew and blue sparks shot out with a loud bang, all electrics tripped and the plug has black burn mark. The frame around the window is huge and coming loose, it is very dangerous. I have taken a video and pictures of all this and I will complain to Agoda who we booked with. I have never left a review like this or been so terribly disappointed in all my travels world over. People here have been moved from the luxury apartments because they are so terrible and had to pay upgrade fees for family rooms in the hotel. I can’t see how this place is allowed to operate things are that bad. After the wedding that’s held here we are leaving immediately never to return. We are even trying to find another hotel close so we don’t actually have to stay a single night. I strongly urge you to ignore all reviews as after looking at other rooms and speaking with people this hotel has gone down hill in a very serious way and has a very bad reputation locally.

I am at a loss to work out why this hotel is rated as highly as it is as my experience was not particularly good. I picked the hotel because it is well situated to the historic areas of Ipoh and is a ten minute walk along the river to Concubine Lane and about fifteen minutes to Ipoh Station. Check in was pretty smooth and I was given a room on the 13th floor. The room took me a bit of time to find as the rooms are not actually arranged in numerical order as one would expect (see attached pic). At first glance the room looked quite up to date. Most light switches have been swapped out for touch controls and the bathroom has clearly been updated with a glass wall through to the bedroom, which has since been covered over. This was much the same as the lifts facing the river which also had glass walls that had been covered over making them somewhat claustrophobic. While the electronics of the rooms have been updated, the furnishings have not. Both the tiles and carpets in my room were stained and frayed. I did not manage to make contact with anyone from housekeeping to clean my room while I was there as they all seemed to be too busy every time I did see any of them. On my last night I did ask for a quick tidy up of my room as there were four of them outside the room next to mine when I returned at 3pm after being out all day. The pool area is open crazy hours and there are no pool side loungers to sit on, nor umbrellas for shade. I was there for four nights over Chinese New Year and entered and exited the hotel on numerous occasions, but it was apparently too much to expect the doormen to open the door for a single woman on foot. The front desk is somewhat out of the way and when I went looking for a concierge or a map or someone to speak with about where to go in Ipoh everyone ignored me totally. At the front desk I found a child's map of Ipoh with some places to visit which I took and stood at the counter looking at for a few minutes, but the three staff who were presumably on duty did not bother to ask me if I needed anything. The mention on their website of high speed wi-fi is a joke as it was barely working every time I tried to search for places to go. I don't believe that it was a language issue, as I speak fluent Malay and was happy to engage in either English or Bahasa Malay with any of the staff. On a brighter note, I must say that the breakfast offerings were very good.

Got a room on the 16th floor in the corner, which gave us a 270 degree view of the mountains. The beds were comfortable enough.

I was amazed at the rain shower water pressure, and hot water came immediately.

Breakfast was a huge spread, which had porridge, nasi lemak, pastries, dessert and so on. The food was tasty! Small point of improvement would be to take more care in brewing the tea, so that it doesn't taste bitter.

It's next to a beautiful riverside park lined with raintrees, and cliffs at the end.
